The 09 round of releases will be very interesting. First to see if FIFA can really build off 08, as EA has a habit of taking a step back when games seem to be going in the right direction. Also, Konami seems to get that the series is going nowhere, and maybe they will win everybody back next year with a strong effort.
I'd love to see PES return to its former glory, as the WE 6, 7, 8 era releases are my favorite sports games of all time. After years of playing mediocre EA football and hockey releases, it was so refreshing to bask in the glory of those games. *sigh*

At least two angles. I always play the traditional Television view, and I know that there is vertical and stays focused on your player. There may be more, but it's been so long since I checked I can't be sure.10spro wrote: For those of you that play OTP often is there only just one camera angle? Playing one on one you have a few choices, not sure about OTP.

Yup there is a Euro 2008 version coming out. I think the Euro release is in May but the North American release is scheduled for June. We may get a sense of where the '09 version is going with that one.wco81 wrote:Won't there be some kind of Euro 2008 edition from EA?
They're also sponsoring some kind of virtual Euro 2008 champion or something, by playing FIFA 08. Kind of like Madden Challenge.

I really hope they don't mess around too much with the pace of the game in the new versions of FIFA. The ball needs to fly a little faster in places but overall its much better than PES.
Just played a game between Italy and Germany on both games. In PES the action was up and down the field with a fairly frenetic pace - Italy's defense was all over the place leaving acres of space for my attackers to run into. Way to fast and far to arcadey.
The same match played in FIFA had a much more realistic pace, and the two defenses played with the appropriate discipline and were tough to break down. It felt much more like an international match.
I'll be interested to see how the home away play is implemented in Euro 2008 - the blog indicates that away teams will play more defensively as they try for at least a draw. Hopefully this won't be implemented to strictly - I'd hate to see Germany going down to San Marino and sitting back in a 4-5-1!
