I didn't think the Blues would sweep... we need to win Game 5.

Didn't think the Preds would sweep.. but looks like they are on their way. 8O As a Blues fan, I'm actually scared of the Preds.

Not a good hockey night here.

Preds just tic tack toe the 3 on 1 for a 3-0 lead.

Kreider finally got a point going on the broken play, Rangers needed more from him and they got it tonight. Habs were on cruise until the second half of the 2nd period. As I was mentioning Kreider to wake up for his team to have a chance, MON need their captain to do the same. Where's Max? That one on one with Lundqvist was crucial.

Fleury seemed to got his mojo back in the playoffs as they advance to the next round.

Max is a good player.

That is all.

He is not great.

He is not a leader.

He is toast.

Forget Max.

Weber will have to ride the lightning.

Was nice to see Toews bury that goal on the way out.

Just a s*** hockey night not to be drunk. 8)

So some may say the picked the Preds over the Hawks, but in a sweeping, convincing fashion, how many?

The way PR is playing, I would not want to play the Preds. 8)

Hopefully some sweeping changes coming to the Hawks in the off season. Was that a record fo goals given up in a 4 game playoff series?

Oh those pesky Oils keep coming hard at you. Sharks had a perfect 3-1 lead playing conservatly but EDM kept coming hard on the third with speed. I thought former Habs D. Desharnais had a great game setting up the bomb by Klefbom and Draisatl who's been struggling also made a difference. Sharks were preying for a defensive collapse from the home team as they were sitting tight with the lead, but unlike previous versions of the Oilers teams, they were patient and played a very disciplined game taking the game to OT.

This series will probably go the distance as they head back to the tank now, a very even matchup.

Such as? They can't cut Toews and Kane and won't trade them. One of the biggest problems is the front office tied up an ungodly amount of money in those two guys for eight years. Prevents the Hawks from building quality depth.

Hell, yes. But that win last night could shift momentum. HUGE, especially at home.

Don't ignore their long commitment also to Hossa, Keith, Seabrook and Crawford. Anisimov's contract was just extended, Panarin's big deal kicks in next season, so yeah, Bowman will have to find a way to create some financial relief sooner rather than later.

Not all is lost though. They still have some fine rookies that peaked late in the season but were overwhelmed against the Preds. They still will be contenders for another two seasons, so I don't think anyone is feeling sorry for this bunch that got dumped convincingly.

Pekka Rinne was a big reason they couldn't score and NAS has more depth and speed that what most people give them credit for.

They might be able to move Crawford (although he has a trade clause) Seabrook or Hossa. I still think Keith can play. Doesn't Vegas come in next year with basically an open checkbook?

I went to bed after the first and thought the Oil were done for. That the last game popped the bubble and age and experience were going to win out.

Then I woke up to feed the baby and saw the end of OT on my tablet. What a sweet sweet dish from Draits, and it looked like the Oil carried the play most of OT.

I have to give Mclellan credit, he put Drake on the first line as he admitted they need speed to get to a forecheck, and not just size. And assuming Draits and Desharnais played together most of the game, that's a good mix of size and shiftiness.....

I thought last night early on that the series would go 7, but if the OIlers can keep up the pace, I think this ends tomorrow.

Same thing with the Wild. All that money on Suter and Parise? When will teams learn.

I can't say this enough, but it's particularly gratifying to say it today:

Salary caps are flim-flam welfare schemes to protect billionaires from their own stupidity and marketed to the stupid as engines of competitive balance despite extensive evidence to the contrary.

Kill them all.

I always preferred luxury taxes to the full-stop hard caps. You still need something when the leagues have so many teams covering such big disparities in market size.

I hope E. Staal is ok after that freaky head on the boards. Give Minnie credit for taking it to OT after being outplayed in the first 30 minutes. Blues were the hungrier team in this series guarded by great goaltending of Allen. At this point, teams must be aware of what Bruce Boudreau can bring to the table and I like him because he tells it like it is. But after great seasons with the Caps, Ducks and the Wild, he keeps falling short in the playoffs. And they were some great players in those teams.

Maybe Max's fight will shake him up along the likes of Galchenyuk. They are missing Shaw's grittiness and it's been non stop action so far despite the low scoring series. Great pace.

Soft goal given up by Price after a soft penalty call by a ref who has ignored numerous infractions against the Rangers.
