Raiders fire Dennis Allen, and nobody cared. Who's going to want to coach that hot mess of a team?

Did he really have a decent roster to work with?
They better dump the GM too.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Hoodie is single handily bringing down the Pats, his arrogance is starting to show. It's almost like he wants to prove he can win with a bad team. The guy has traded key players, his draft picks have been spotty and Brady has virtually NO weapons to throw to. Drop him in Denver, maybe even Miami with solid receivers and he would be putting up some serious numbers.
Re: The NFL 2014-2015
That's what most of the media outlets are saying, but I've heard Greg Olsen and Al Saunders mentioned, as well. Doesn't really matter when you have a roster that's paper-thin on depth and devoid of game changers.Rodster wrote:My guess is Tony SparanoTCrouch wrote:Raiders fire Dennis Allen, and nobody cared. Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Sparano is your coach, good luck Raiders.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Not a ton he has to work with. Couldn't be worse than what we already are. It's physically impossible to be any worse, as anybody who's played us has seen. That moral victory of "competing" with the Pats in week 3? Look at how bad they are, now that better teams are playing them

As if the NFL isn't under enough political pressure, Washington is now pushing for NFL to stop TV blackouts:

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
That's one of the many reasons why the NFL is trying to expand outside the US. Not only do they have all the bad PR including Goodell and Ray Rice, PED's and arrest warrants but they are also dealing with Soccer which is gaining traction in the US thanks in large part to the MLS, WC, ESPN and NBC Sports.wco81 wrote:As if the NFL isn't under enough political pressure, Washington is now pushing for NFL to stop TV blackouts:

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Bears just plain sucked me in when I knew better. I've never seen an offense find ways to lose games like this one. There is no attention to detail, no extra effort. Forte screen should of been a TD but Bennett just figured he would run down and not throw a block. Cutler, what's left to be said about him. I'm just sick of watching shots of him biting his nails and spitting when the other team is in the victory formation.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Mel Tucker also failing to show any reason for Emery and Trestman to have any more faith in him. Carolina had one offensive weapon, Olsen. He got targeted on every key down. Got off the line clean every time (a huge problem against GB last week as well) and made every necessary catch with little difficulty at all. That's on the DC. He needs to adapt. Sure that secondary sucks, but you need to take away the best weapon in this league. Whatever resources it takes, that has to happen. Terrible showing.Danimal wrote:Bears just plain sucked me in when I knew better. I've never seen an offense find ways to lose games like this one. There is no attention to detail, no extra effort. Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Rob sure the secondary sucks but that is your reason for not being able to put up points in the 2nd half for 2 weeks straight? How many times can we give the ball away and then blame the defense?
The D is playing well enough that we should of won that game. The Offense lost yesterdays game plain and simple.

"I'm running full speed and I had to look on the JumboTron to see where Matt was. I thought he was outside of him, but 41 [Harper], Matt must've slowed down a little bit, and 41 slipped behind me," Bennett said. "I'm 6-7, 280-275 [pounds]. It's hard for me to stop and turn back on a guy. I'm trying to lead the way, but I thought we ran past everybody. But we didn't. He got tackled. But it was a 99-yard gain or some [stuff] like that."
But it hurt not to get points off a play like that, right?
"Did we not score?" Bennett said, before remembering Gould's missed kick.
SMH, yep these are the Bears.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Good ol Rams.. give up 13 points right off the bat and then have to try to climb back into the game. I think we had like 7 penalties in the first quarter alone. If we can stop with the mistakes and actually fix the penalty issues this team has, we might be a decent team.
Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Dan,
I certainly wasn't giving the offense a pass and absolutely agree with you on that. I was just piling on because I'd noticed how easily the GB receivers got into their breaks and it pissed me off because it's such an easily-corrected problem.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
FWIW I agree on Tucker and I'm not convinced Tress is a head coach. Until he can make an adjustment during a game I'm not going to be convinced. Carolina is just a bad team, there is no way we should of lost to them.
I know saying this now sounds like 20/20 hindsight but I was not happy when we let Olsen go. That was the blockhead mentality of an old staff who wanted someone who could block. Imagine how he would look now.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
The Redskins made it a game just when in the early going Wilson and Lynch alone were going to carry the team. The big escape by #3 in the last quarter with the game on the line eluding four Redskins using his scrambling abilities was outstanding. I feel bad for Harvin having all those TD's called back, but the big star was no doubt Russell Wilson. Such a smart cerebral player.

It's easy to escape when your O-line gets away with holding about every other play.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
If you're referring to the 3rd down and 4 yards to go under 2 1/2 minutes where he stumbles backwards a few yards before hitting Lynch, I did not see any infraction yet they were terribly undisciplined tonight. And during the game they were missed obvious calls on both sides to be quiet frank, and isn't that the case every week with this league?Danimal wrote:It's easy to escape when your O-line gets away with holding about every other play.
Re: The NFL 2014-2015
I thought #98 was pushed from behind on that play.
But really, the game shouldn't have been that close the way Wilson was running free. The Redskins' DEs kept biting on the handoff and letting him get outside all night.

Re: The NFL 2014-2015
Of course you didn't see it because it is your team. There is a clear hold on that play and several others. I'm the same way I don't see it when it is my team either and yes officiating is inconsistent and shitty across the league but Seattle got away with one with essentially iced the game. Of course the pat line is there are calls blown all game on both sides but there seem to be more calls this year factoring into the end of games that I can remember.10spro wrote:If you're referring to the 3rd down and 4 yards to go under 2 1/2 minutes where he stumbles backwards a few yards before hitting Lynch, I did not see any infraction yet they were terribly undisciplined tonight. I like Wilson a lot so I have no grudge against Seattle but I watch almost every game each week and Seattle is in the upper tier of teams who get away with more crap. It's a nice place to be if you can get it.
