Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Ok, so I really am enjoying a lot about this game. But there are two issues that are beginning to weigh on me. One has been mentioned before in the removal of pitchers at strange times. I had a CPU pitcher go 8 innings in a 10-1 loss and was up to 120 pitches even though he was shelled. I then had a guy who was mowing me down, up 3-0 in the 5th and had only thrown 57 pitches and the CPU pulled him out. Just silly.
The other I will pose as a question. Have any of you thrown out a CPU baserunner on a tag play at ANY base? In easily 15-20 games I have not gunned a player out at 2nd, 3rd, or home. I just feel like there is too great a delay with the OF getting the ball back to the cutoff man or the bag. Hoping someone tells me it's just me.

I absolutely love the way it feels when I jump on an inside pitch and jack it for a HR.
I nailed 2 this morning with Luke Scott and Nick Markakis...one a line drive HR and the other a majestic drive on a hanging slider that stayed just inside the RF foul pole.
Besides playing "todays" games, what else does MLB Today do? Do I affect any outcomes?

Another thing I love about 2K11 this year is the hit variety ala MVP Baseball 2005.
Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Yeah, so far this has been getting much more play than The Show, just like last year (although the analog controls in The Show have made it a closer run).
I'm having fun with my created player, and the MLB Today feature is just awesome. Makes you feel immersed in the real-life baseball season.

The Show needs something like MLB Today.

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
I just hope they put out a patch list soon. The fatigue thing in Franchise is killer, as well as all the other assorted bugs!

well, as per the tweets of what looks like the only guy in 2k who speaks, Ronnie2k, the mlb2k11 patch should be "submitted" by the end of the week. Then approvals, blah blah blah, and voila, maybe 2 to 3 weeks later, we'll get a game with features that work!
Ok, I'm cranky, but lately every time I think about playing the game, i don't, because the fatigue bug and the filelding stuff just annoys me.
In typical 2k fashion, they probably won't send a fix list until the thing is almost out, but the comment was made that the patch is "beefy".

What a word to describe the patch - "beefy" - just hope it's Ruth's Criss beefy and not Taco Bell beefy.Gangrel wrote:well, as per the tweets of what looks like the only guy in 2k who speaks, Ronnie2k, the mlb2k11 patch should be "submitted" by the end of the week. For the 5 of us still with the game, the patch came out yesterday.
I've only played a game so far, but I can tell you the baserunning is definately more aggresive, and the fatigue is fixed!

Yes it seems most of the real killers (fatigue, HR robbing bug, etc) are fixed. Also impressed with 2K for not only just fixing things, but adding the baserunning cam from 2K10 and auto-fiedling, auto-baserunning control options.

I haven't bought the game yet. I've been waiting for the yearly "mega patch". Looks like I'm finally good to go. How's the online?

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
talk really died out on this game. So is anyone still enjoying it?
I admit it is improved over past versions, but the gameplay remains
largely unchanged. It's a decent game IMO, but doesn't really grab
me to keep playing it, but I do enjoy playing through a game now and then.

I bought it about a week ago. I wanted to wait until the patch was on it's way. I love it. ESP the online is as smooth as can be! Big improvement IMO.

Still playing almost daily. Online is incredibly smooth after patch, you couldn't tell the difference from offline. With Franchise, My Player and Online leagues this satisfies my baseball fix.

Hi all.
Per the post above, is this game really that smooth online? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes, it is. I have played 3 or 4 games the last couple weeks and it is pretty fun.

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
I had 2k10 for pc laying around and after a recent computer upgrade, installed this. Nice looking alternative title, but curious how much better 2k11(pc) is than 10? Mind you it will be a casual pick up and play.
Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Assuming the PC version is like the consoles, 2k11 is worth the upgrade. Injuries (once you find the right slider setting), fatigue, better fielding, pitching, maybe even hittting.......
Granted, there's still some wonky stuff, but I'm still playing it on my Xbox, at least still in my first season. Maybe everything breaks in the second season, who knows.
