I am continuing to enjoy EA Sports Active 2 (now that my back feels better :)) It really has the most variety/workouts. Tons of stuff to do. There are 18 Trainer created workouts at varying levels of intensity (see below). Plus the on screen heart rate is very cool/helpful. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved is very good too but the variety is not as good as EASA2. There is better camera recognition with YS:FE. EA seems to have fixed some of the smaller issues with EASA2 with the update. I haven't had any issues at all since the update. I added a bunch of music to my 360 sand created some custom workout playlists...also very cool. Anyways, check out some of my favorite workouts...time and calories burned included. There are Low and Medium intensity versions of these workouts also. The 9 Week Program in the game also has a ton of preset workouts too...like 144 of them.

All of these workouts include warm ups, cool downs, varying levels of weight training, cardio, core/ab work and activities (like soccer goalie, mountain biking, etc.)

1. Dodge Ball Boot Camp Advanced (High Intensity) - 52 minutes, 459 calories
2. Calorie Burner Advanced (High Intensity) - 39 minutes, 331 calories
3. Core & Crunched Advanced (High Intensity) - 44 minutes, 312 calories
4. Full Body Workout Advanced (High Intensity) - 41 minutes, 307 calories
5. Mountain Gravity Workout Advanced (High Intensity) - 41 minutes, 374 calories
6. Power Up Advanced (High Intensity) - 42 minutes, 357 calories
7. Soccer Skills/Drills Advanced (High Intensity) - 58 minutes, 463 calories (this is an ass kicker...no pun intended!)

That is flipping awesome Doby!

I will check our EA Active for our school when it gets sub $50.

I just downloaded the YS:FE DLC Bollywood and New Year: New You workouts. A quick play of the Bollywood and it was really cool. I love the multicultural fitness aspect.

I also picked up "My Fitness Coach" for the Wii at Gamestop for $18. IT think it will be a winner as well in our fitness room.

I can't wait to see what else Ubisoft comes up with for Kinect fitness programs as they produced a lot of Wii fitness titles.

Saw today that amazon has it for 59.99 for the 360, not sure for how long it will be at that price though. I ordered it and will give it a shot a that price.

Is Active different/better on Kinect than on the PS3? My neighbor bought it for PS3 but he may be interested in taking my old XBox and Kinect and I want to know what to tell him.

Thanks,

It's is a very good workout "game" Dennis. You can also create your own workouts from all the available exercises. Another cool thing is when you que up a workout you can actually remove any of the exercises you don't want to do. It has voice recognition so you can get thru the menus without a controller or your hands. I've been very impressed with it.

I did too.. and almost purchased it.

Think I'm still going to wait since Dance Central has a workout mode that seems to wear the crap out of me. :)

I bought the Sonic Free Riders game though.. think the kids will love it!

Return Sonic Free Riders if you possibly can. It's gotten horrible reviews. The motion controls supposedly is very poor.

Joy Ride was pretty fun as I recall from the demo if you're looking for a racing game.

Thanks,
I assume it's the same as the Wi version in that it has this usb dongle and it requires no controllers etc. I haven't used any other version so all I can say is a girl i work with has the Wi version and loves it.

We have joy ride.. there isn't much to it, but the kids like it.

Sonic had a decent review over at IGN, they said you have to get used to the controls, then it's a fun game.

I can't wait to see the 2nd wave of games that come out for the connect.

From what I've read that has been patched. Not saying the game is any good but I think it's a title geared more towards kids and casual gamers and it seems like it's decent enough for that audience.

Fair enough. I had heard someone on a podcast really trashing the game, too. But I can see its usefulness for younger kids.

Definitely a kid game, but it's fun for what it is.

For a controllerless racing game, I think it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I like it.

Just finished the Dodge Ball Boot Camp Advanced workout and it kicked my ass. Burned 506 calories and felt like I went a few rounds with Tyson! Great workout! Now I can go put those calories back on (and more) tonight at a New Years Eve party :)

I am getting it. Saw it on the Wii, they include all his popular songs too including early in his career.

It's the game I bought for my gf along with the Wii.

Very fun experience, but it's shallow. You can only unlock training videos, not more songs.

According to the MS presser at CES the Kinect sold 8 million in it's first 60 days. That's pretty damn impressive for a niche device.
