Re: NBA2k11
Yeah, still plays fine to me. No major breakage as far as I'm concerned.
Re: NBA2k11
I've discovered after this update that I still suck.

Re: NBA2k11
Just picked this up on Thursday...I hadn't played a 2k hoops game since 2k8 and this is a great representation of hoops.
Very pleased with my purchase.

Re: NBA2k11
I sort of can't believe how much I'm enjoying My Player mode. Made a PG my own height which makes getting a shot off... challenging... but am playing it pass-first. Was projected to go to the Wizards (yuck), then the Blazers (a little better), then big surprise got drafted early second round by the Heat. Doing the summer league stuff now.
Re: NBA2k11
Picked this up over the weekend after skipping it last year and I'm glad I did. I'm really liking the game. The great presentation reminds me of the old days of NFL 2K5. Man I loved that game. I suck at the iso motion but have been taking baby steps. Practice mode will be getting some work.

There is some goofiness going on with NBA Today not loading properly and/or not working properly within the game.
Still loving the game overall.

Re: NBA2k11
Anyone getting controller disconnects on free throws? It's weird. I can go an entire game with nothing and then I'll get like 5 disconnects in a row.

Yeah, it is a problem, but you can go to features, then living rosters, then exit and then the NBA Today will be working properly. Unfortunately, you have to do this every time you start the game up until they correct it.AJColossal wrote:There is some goofiness going on with NBA Today not loading properly and/or not working properly within the game.

The NBA Today feature is working just fine on the PS3 as of yesterday or the day before. Perhaps it's due to the latest patch.

Re: NBA2k11
That worked for me before, and then I couldn't do that. It was still saying August 1st. After I erased my files and re-booted the game, it worked, and now the NBA Today stuff comes up automatically.warnerwlf98 wrote:Yeah, it is a problem, but you can go to features, then living rosters, then exit and then the NBA Today will be working properly. The problem now is that when you play an NBA Today game, it's as if you're playing a regular exhibition game -- no in-season stats, references to games played in real NBA season, etc.
I know the feature was working before becuase I tried it a few weeks ago and they would reference stats from pre-season games.
Anyone else seeing that?
Re: NBA2k11
finally got to take this out out for a spin........
Yes, the game is deep with all the modes and the Jordan stuff, but the actual core gameplay
left me a bit underwhelmed. The ISO motion moves feel a bit cumbersome and many times
you are sitting there waiting for an animation to complete. The controls in general always
feel a bit laggy to me. I set playcalling to "auto" but it doesn't seem to be calling any plays
for me??? Is manual the only way to go? Also, how the heck do you call for a pick?
I immediately off all the cut scenes because they were making me crazy. And the delay
when you are inbounding the ball sometimes is maddening. This is definitely not a game
for the impatient
Anyways, I hope the gameplay grows on me. I guess I need to hit the practice mode for a bit.

No, it's definitely not for the inpatient. The controls are deep, but after a bit of practice, it'll come. There is kind of a tutorial in practice and in there is an option that will explain the advanced controls.JackB1 wrote:finally got to take this out out for a spin........

Give it a little time. It's not hyperbole at all to say this is the best NBA sim ever. There's just so much to appreciate about the game, epecially if you're familiar wiith some of the nuances of basketball.
Re: NBA2k11
I went in and switched the control layout. I think I use the first alternate...whichever one it is, you can call for a pick using the LB button and you can use the right stick for isomotion....it made it much easier for me.JackB1 wrote:finally got to take this out out for a spin........

However, I still suck!!!!!!! I stated playing with the Knicks and am 0-3....I kept it close against Bostin, losing only by 11....but last nite Portland beat me by 31..... Just when i thought my offense was getting better...me defense just stunk!

I'll try that control alternate...thanks. Are you calling plays or using "auto"?icvu42 wrote:

I call my own plays...just do it early because some take time to run and those 24 seconds go by quick!JackB1 wrote:I'll try that control alternate...thanks. Are you calling plays or using "auto"?icvu42 wrote:

Re: NBA2k11
Anyone else find that on offense, the players bunch up a lot and have a hard time getting out of each others way?
This is driving me crazy at times and it makes it tough to pass the ball around and get a decent shot.
Also, how do I get the pick and roll guy to "roll"? He just stands there after the pick?

Finally getting the grasp of the control set on NBA 2K11 (skipped 10) and I am really digging the game. I've only scratched the surface but its moving up my play list.

Re: NBA2k11
Absolutely. I started an Association with my Sixers and lost game one to Boston 79-71. Rondo killed me but I played a solid game for a rook.skinsfan wrote:Complex, but rewarding.Really have to put in the work as far as the controls.Diablo25 wrote:Finally getting the grasp of the control set on NBA 2K11 (skipped 10) and I am really digging the game. Re: NBA2k11
Just picked this up and I can see why it gets so much hype this year.
I liked how it goes straight to Jordan Lakers 91 finals.
This is the only era I really enjoyed the NBA so I really liked how they put these old teams in. It's like playing XB360 back in the early 90s with today's technology.
I wish more games did this. It would be great if EA had a mode in Madden where you could play with those 80/90s Niners and Cowboys teams.

I finally had a chance to play some NBA Today games over the weekend -- it's ridiculous how good the presentation is in this game. Very cool to see previews of the Thanksgiving Day matchups, to hear up-to-date audio, etc. Hopefully this feature becomes a standard in sports games in the near future.
Re: NBA2k11
This feature is the one that could get me to look at NHL 2K12 next year. It is my favorite way to pick-up and play sports games. It's when the game becomes even more of a service form the publisher.GTHobbes wrote:I finally had a chance to play some NBA Today games over the weekend -- it's ridiculous how good the presentation is in this game. Of course, as we saw with how MLB Today was not maintained at the end of the season, it can also lead to even more annoyed customers. When I went back to the game when the playoffs were getting ready to start, I found that it was clearly not being maintained anymore. While its use had dropped off significantly from from what was already losing money due to lack of sales, I'm sure I wasn't the only one that popped back up for the playoffs. It really annoyed me because it was something I was always kind of looking forward to. New games had come in, and I hadn't been playing it much anymore. But I still looked forward to seeing how the playoffs would be presented.
Re: NBA2k11
LOL, I thought I was missing something when I hit the playoffs and WS and there was no mention of any of the previous playoff games. It was only about their previous match up.Aristo wrote:This feature is the one that could get me to look at NHL 2K12 next year. It is my favorite way to pick-up and play sports games. But yeah this is the way sports games should be and the reason why I may skip MLB The SHow next year which would be a first. And i'm glad to hear i'm not the only one who plays MLB Today exclusively.
