Just saw a 2K10 commercial on ESPN. Longoria talking about the $1 million Perfect Game challenge. Not a bad commercial. Made me think, what if you got to 2 outs in the 9th and gave up a hit/walk/hit batter? Can you say suicide watch? Anyone considering trying the perfect game thing?

there's probably something in the code that prevents a perfect game from ever happeningDiablo25 wrote:Just saw a 2K10 commercial on ESPN. Longoria talking about the $1 million Perfect Game challenge. Can't do a Mount Visit?

2K baseball has had this pitching method for many year's now, so I'm not sure what were you expecting? Also, maybe in the full game there is an option to use the button method? Just seems like you are giving up on the game too easily and seem predetermined not to like it. I had a hard time with the gestures at first, but quickly acclimated and now think it's fun. But if you prefer the "press A for a fastball" method, than you should stick with "The Show". Personally, I find The Show a little tedious and boring and welcome any innovations to the basic formula. We have been pressing buttons since "Pong" and using the thumbsticks makes more sense to me. It's also the reason I love the NHL series. They make great use of the thumbsticks for skating and shooting and for me, it makes the game more immersive.Rodster wrote:You know I want to say no but yeah it's pretty tough to make a half circle. Better stay away from the Tony Hawk games!![]()
I know i'm not supposed to mention the other game but there are other ways to be challenged other than to perfect the finger gymnastics to bring up the missile lock.
Sorry for plagiarizing you db.
Just heard "The Choice Is Yours" by the Black Sheep (sorry I am an old school Hip Hop guy) in the demo. Some respect gained by the 2K guys
Seriously, I am starting to gravitate towards the full version after playing about 5 games in the demo. It has been gratifying waiting on a hanging curve and hammering it. I just can't do that in The Show. Pitch speeds are just too fast for me in that game. The graphics and animations still aren't the best but they aren't as bad as in the past.

There is a thread at OS where one of the mods posts screens with all the options in the full game. I think I saw some other camera options. I actually like the batting camera because it makes hitting a little more challenging. But I dont like the pitching camera because it makes theDiablo25 wrote:Spent some more time with the demo and had more fun than the first time. pitches look like they are floating. If there is a better choice for pitching camera, I will be happy.

What is up with the Twins' new stadium? A full house is 39,500 people. Call me negative, but I think they did that in order to make it appear more full than it is. The metrodome would routinely be at under 50% capacity and it looked bad. Kinda says something about your team when you make the stadium small like that to avoid empty seats. I drove past the park the other day and I gotta say, it looks nice but the location SUCKS! It's in the warehouse district of Minneapolis and there's nothing around. No bars to get a burger and a beer at before/after the game, no parks, no where to really tailgate. They really cheaped out by buying the cheapest land they could and squeezed the stadium to fit it. The pictures so far make it look pretty cookie cutter as well. One cool thing is that I heard the only park in MLB with less foul territory is Fenway, so everyone will be right on top of the action. I'll wait til I attend a game to judge, but right now I think Minnesota dropped the ball on this one.
I agree about the parking but there are plenty of bars and restaurants on 1st ave,4th,5th,and 6th st. Plus Nicollet Ave is only a 4 block walk from the park. My wife's office overlooks Target Field and I think it looks fantastic. Nothing cookie cutter about it IMO. As far as the capacity goes,it looks like it's in the same range as many other parks around the league. Seats more than Boston,KC,Pittsburghfletcher21 wrote:What is up with the Twins' new stadium? I've got tickets to the first two exhibition games. My wife probably won't want to go. PM me if you want to catch a game with me and Dom.

Not to mention the whole reason they put ball parks in those parts of town is to build up the economy there. You'll see...in the next few years, the touristy type places in that area of town will increase ten fold. That's exactly what happened in Phoenix...where they put the two new stadiums in the 90's in south Phoenix and all of the sudden it's turned into a place to go hang out before and after the game. It's amazing what a stadium can do for a city.

Yeah, but they didn't put it in a tourist destination. Being a half hour or whatever north of Miami was just stupid. It's also why I don't think the new Marlins stadium will do that well in Coral Gables. There is NOTHING there except for the U. We'll see how that goes, especially since there is zero parking in that area since it's essentially in amongst a bunch of run down houses. I was frightened driving through there with the wife when I visited the school a few years ago. At least the campus is in a nicer area.Rodster wrote:Too bad the same can't be said for Pro Player/Dolphins Stadium/Land Shark or whatever they're calling it this month. The area surrounding Dolphins Stadium still sucks as much as it did when the stadium opened back in the late 80's.
I think it all depends on the City because Miami has it's share of tourist traps probably too many.
American Airlines Arena has really helped the surrounding area as much as the City of Miami would have liked. Although I did like the area that was being pushed for the original Marlins Stadium which was close to Miami Bay if i'm not mistaken.

I got berm tickets for the Red Sox /Yanks/and Pirates. There are 2 night games this year also Rod. You should be able to pick up some of these...I opted for these since we walk around alot anyway. They have a nice full service tiki bar out in centerfieldRodster wrote:I'm going to try again and see The Rays in Port Charlotte, FL this year since I live fairly close (23miles).
I have yet to see them since their preseason games are usually sold out.
