No big deal about the mountains at coors, but I don't mind the developers adding things to a stadium to make the game feel like you're playing actually in colorado.

MizzouRah, or anyone else that may want to answer this.

You stated that you played 2K7 alot. I downloaded the demo, and while I know it probably is a shell of the actual game, I found it very hard when fielding, or batting for that matter, to follow the ball when it was hit. Just had a hard time seeing a ground ball or line drive. I seemed to make the plays, but there were some line drives that were hit that I caught, but never even saw the ball.

Did you have this problem? Maybe it was the demo camera angle. I just hope in 2K8 I can see the ball a little better.

I popped in MLB'07 for the PS2 over the weekend and it just seems a little stale. I have played it the last 3 years. Really looking forward to MLB2K8 and the newness, if you will.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they released a patch for 2k7 that fixed the camera issues. I never tried it but some people told me it made a world of difference.

Yeah, the camera that was added during one of the updates made the fielding a bit easier, at least for me it did.

I already have this bought, so once I get a chance to get my hands on it tomorrow I'll post some thoughts.

yeah, what they said about the camera issues. A former gameplay developer for 2k8, KushGamer, has been answering questions about the game over at OS.

Yep, the pole camera fixed the awful fielding issues I was having. The game had issues, but I played many games.

If you've had a chance to catch some of the gameplay videos, you'll notice that the fielding camera looks even better this year as opposed to last years, pole cam included. It has a broadcast look to it, which appears to make fielding a breeze. I don't see it being an issue like last year at all.

they have analog stick fielding this year and it's a meter like the mvp system. should be interesting to see how it pans out.

Someone on OS has a copy and is posting impressions. He had to turn his resolution down from 1080p to 720p to make the game smooth - similar to The Show.

He's liking the pitching and throwing thus far....

Please fellas post more impressions about this game as i've decided not to get MLB 08 this year. So it's up to MLB 2K8 to come through. If it sucks then i'm just going to stick with MLB 07 (PS3) this year.

None of the impressions are too enthusiastic. I hope this game doesn't disappoint.

I think most of the impressions have been pretty favorable.

I got a call last night that my copy will be in today. I have a friend working so I'll get it ASAP, provided my son isn't napping.

I usually find on OS that I have to surf through dozens of pages of posts to find things that interest me. Things like batting stances really don't make a difference to me, but the pitching and fielding does. I'll just wait to get my copy.

Yeah, the sound of the ball off the bat and whether uniforms flap too much when there is wind are not at the top of my list. I think I will just get it and play it and find out for myself (and check this thread).

OK, just messing around on all-star level. Pitching is a whole new ball game. I really, really like it, but I am getting shelled like you wouldn't believe. With practice I'm sure it will be awesome. Plus I shouldn't use the Pirates to test it! Also, of course I haven't read the manual so that probably will make a difference too! lol

Lots more foul balls. New animations for all sorts of things, but the frame rate does chug a bit at times, although as the game goes on it seems to happen less so maybe things are loading at first.

More later, but so far it seems like it is a definite improvement, once the new features are learned (I keep pressing buttons to throw to bases, need to kick that habit fast!) Not a huge upgrade or a whole new game, but just a few new features that make it better.

More impressions later.

There are a lot of disgruntled people over at OS complaining about the framerate problems. That would be extremely disappointing if that is indeed true. What's your take on it Gurantsu?

Could you see what Votto is rated on the Reds!!!!

If you could, would you speak of the hitting with the hit stick. I have always just pushed buttons to swing the bat and am really looking forward to trying this. Is it fairly instinctive? What are the steps? I understand the pitching but not so much the hitting.

Thanks.
