In case any PS3 owners are interested, I noticed that the EURO 2008 demo is available in the updated store (North America).

Great demo...the semi-pro AI is less than spectacular, but I've seen some incredible stuff on Be A Pro so far. Now that these aren't just one-off games, the mode should be severely addictive. I've never considered a FIFA title to be a "must-buy", but this one fits the bill nicely.

I had thought that only the 360 demo was available. I remember looking all over the place when I saw that thread, but just assumed it was in Europe only for the PS3 and only on the 360. Maybe it was hiding somewhere, who knows. Anyways, it's front and center now on the demo page.

If Echochrome is that Escher-esque puzzle game than I downloaded the Japanese demo a while back. Very cool game.

There are supposedly demos and trailers of games displayed at some show in London.

Killzone 2 is delayed to 2009 but there are clips of gameplay which are around.

LBP is also delayed but just a month.

There is also suppose to be a GTA4 patch.

My god , Duke Nukem will be out before this game. See what happens when you put out a cg movie and call it in game footage. By the time it does come out it wont even be impressive any more.

At least they seem to be trying to make the game similar to that first movie released way back when. Hopefully its more than 3 hrs of gameplay.

Anyone try the Haze demo? I downloaded it off the Euro PSN site/account last night. My impressions;

Meh.

The graphics are nice (but not mind-blowing) and the level you're on has a very Far-Cry feel to it as it's set in the jungle but nothing really stands out. The 'Nectar' injections don't seem to do much except for make your opponents stand out and boost your health.

Yeah...I downloaded Echochrome yesterday for the PSP for my trip next week. The game is phenomenal. And at 9.99 full retail, it's a BARGAIN. It's pretty trippy trying to find your way though each of the puzzles. You really have to suspend reality to see the next move. I definitely recommend it...especially at 10 bucks.

At this rate it will have everything the original Live had in about another year :) j/k

EDIT: Actually I was joking but then I read that list more carefully and I need to ask what good is an in game XMB going to do if you can't do anything?

No in game invites
No comparing achievements...sorry trophies
No quick way i can tell to see what yoru friends are playing
No voice chat
No web browser
No access to the stores

I appreciate that many people wanted in game XMB support but I have no idea what use it is going to be at this point.

Can someone tell me how to download the Burnout Paradise patches/add-ons? I thought I read that there have been 1 or 2 patches released for this game already including night racing and motorbikes. I looked everywhere on the PS Store and couldn't find a thing. And does anyone know what the Cagney patch is suppose to bring to the game? I'm kinda confused about what this game is suppose to get and what's been released for it.

I found this info on the IGN boards Rodster:

Cagney Update (Available July 10th, Cagney is free!)

3 New Freeburn Game Modes:

• Road Rage
Up to 8-player team event. One team must race through a series of Paradise City checkpoints. The other team must stop them.
Cue incredible chases and battling through the city, tons of voice communication as players co-ordinate their efforts.

• Stunt Run (vs)

Pull stunts to score points - hit barriers, billboards and ramps; ace barrel rolls, flat spins and massive airtime to score big. Everybody competes to simultaneously reach the biggest total. Hit your rivals to kill their scores and gain multipliers.

• Marked Man

A player is selected at random and everyone gangs up to take them down. The Marked Man scores for reaching the end point intact and taking anyone down along the way.

70 New Freeburn Challenges
• 70 new timed multi-part Freeburn Challenges
• Leaderboards for these challenges that log your best time (as well as those people who did it with you)

Vehicles
• Hunter Olympus

• A secret Criterion Car!

New liveries
• Rossolini Tempesta Dream

• Two fan-created liveries – the Oval Steel Racer and Inferno Hippie Van
• Two secret Criterion liveries!

Ranked Race Changes

Custom Soundtracks
• Custom Soundtrack support on PS3 (Watch the podcast for more info on this one)

Other high-priority fixes and updates

• If you're in a 3 or more player challenge and a player drops out, the remaining players can still complete it (subject to it being a challenge that can handle this!)
• "Previously" section on the search games list now displays Challenges, Today's Best and Freeburn game modes, making it loads easier to decide which game you want to join
• You can now view Leaderboards and Options in an online game
• You can now mute other online players in the show players screen
• You can now mute yourself if you have a PS3 Eye/Eye toy
• We've increased time-out for online races, and if all players complete the races within the timer, then you go straight to results
• The Airfield has been changed to help with the drivability of the area and make it a little easier to complete the hoop challenges
• Online cars now show damage - roll up to the start in a half-destroyed Hunter Cavalry and everyone else will see it!
• Added a stronger display message if you rule all of Todays Best
• The Easy Drive menu & Challenges page now loops from top to bottom
• Fixed the navigation system so that it takes into account the next check point in a race
• Fixed traffic not reappearing in Freeburn after a no-traffic race
• Fixed online races using Lawrence Road - it's been reporting finish distances with a little inaccuracy
• Revised 30+ car resets following crashes
• All new sound effects added for Easy Drive
• Driving backwards in Road Rage now ends the event as it does in Marked Man
• Option to invert camera axis for the look around camera on right stick
• Online player information made accurate on the instance a player goes through a checkpoint in races
• If you set VOIP mix to zero it is now saved correctly
• 1080i support for "almost HD" sets - PS3 only
• Improved the Standard Definition rendering on PS3
• New highlight to show the player in Today's Best
• Easy Drive fades out if it's unused for 20 seconds
• Boost chaining no longer possible by drifting in open areas

Davis Update (Available August, free and paid content)

• Night and day cycle added to Paradise City

• Motorbikes!

It was confirmed on the playstation blog that the bikes will be a priced update (unkown price for now).

Eastwood Update (Available Fall 2008, unknown if free and/or paid content)

The other side of the Bridge! A new island will be made available to race on!

I know but at least they still are putting out a quality product. It may have been different to past Burnout games but it's still a good game. I also give them credit for trying to improve the game long after retail. :)
