Scoring:
Fenerbache: Marmea 26'
Lazio: Rocchi 26' 47', Muzzi 65'(FK), DiCanio 77' (PEN)
A wild, wild game in Istanbul in which the score line does not adquately reflect the nature of the game. Fenerbache hit the woodwork no less than 3 times, including twice in a dazzling opening 10 minutes which saw them take 7 shots while yielding none. Lazio struck on the counter and against the run of play with Rocchi latching onto a long through ball from Liverani. Rocchi was staggered by a sliding tackle but kept his balance and beat the keeper one-on-one to open the scoring. Fenerbache dominated the balance of the first half with Marmea scoring from 25 yards out on the break with a strong right-footed drive. Nevertheless, Fenerbache were seriously unlucky not to be ahead at the break.
Lazio opened the second half with renewed vigor. Muzzi broke down the Fenerbache defense with some sparkling dribbling and found Rocchi with an angled pass back from the goal line. Fenerbache counterpunched gamely but found nothing but rotten luck. Lazio had much better fortune. An untimely challenge about 29 yards out left Muzzi with the chance to add another on the free kick. Di Canio added the fourth from the spot after Rocchi was taken down in the box.
Dabo received his second yellow of the season and will be the first league player suspended this year.
Zeppo, this was just such a crazy game. You really deserved at least a draw or better. Good luck with the remainder of the season.

Still, it was real classic despite the score. I can't believe that right post! Both right posts had magnets in them, I swear!!
That PK was BS though; he never even went down! Just a little nudge! And then to guess right with Rustu, get a piece of it, but not enough. Grrrr. . . .
It was a heck of a fun game, though. I am starting to really love these idiots! I definitely won't be switching up teams, unless I get sent down in which case I will consider it. I just have to play my good players, no matter their condition arrows. That's just how it is with this lack of depth.
I came to that same realization right before this mini winning streak. The drop off from my better players is just enormous, so DiCanio suits up as long as he has a pulse.Zeppo wrote: I just have to play my good players, no matter their condition arrows. OK Folks, the full-season deadline is this Sunday 4/23. How much of a chance do you guys think we have of getting it done?
It looks like a few guys haven't even played a game since the first half of the season. Has anyone heard from Jared in a while? What about Db and Sully?
I know Sudz is having issues getting online.
Let's get these games in, guys, so we can move on towards Season Two and some new teams for those who want to make a change.

I honestly don't think I'll be able to do it. I might be able to get a game or two in on Sunday...
I've put out an apb or two on who wants to play, but never got any responses, and nobody ever tried to set anything up with me. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.
So, if anybody wants to play Sunday, let me know!

I had the exact same thought in my head. So much for my reading comprehension. I need games with Mo, Sully & Jared. I'll be on tonight after 10 Central for sure and probably around the same time tomorrow night. Shoot me a PM.Sully wrote:For some odd reason, I thought the deadline was next weekend.
