That's the thing w XBO, we don't know. Why don't they have it play demo's like PS4. I guess we have to just wait for impressions. That's why all of us on the fence are expecting you and people like you to give us the most detailed impressions when XBO is out. compare it also to PS4. It sounds like homework or another job, but it's up to you guys. I only get my videogame information / news from this forum. I don't go to any other websites since it's mostly marketing b.s. I am counting on you guys as many others on this forum are for impressions so we can make the best next gen purchase decision that suits our needs.

I read numerous multi-platforms game reviews where they stated the 360(which I owned) had an edge over the ps3 graphic-wise, but I never once thought the ps3 owners were enjoying the game any less because the "textures weren't as sharp" or whatever. As I now see COD(or insert game here) looks better on the ps4, I don't think I'd enjoy COD any less on the xbox1.

I'm mortified at the thought that we are inevitably going to end up in our respective retirement communities gumming our General Tso's and trading ever less-vitriolic posts about the PS8 v XboxWhatever...

Contact Amazon, Sony?
Made a quick run to the local Walmart and snagged a new DS4. I guess I'll contact Sony and ask what the process is for returning the controller.

Finished chapter 3 in the Kill Zone campaign and I'll say it again - man its a beautiful game. Its going to be fun to see what games look like as devs become more and more familiar with the hardware.

Now that hurts! :)

I sadly remember his little failed run as a lamb that thankfully ended one miserable monday night in Chicago.

Back on topic. Who else is cancelling their Xbox One pre order? :P

I think owners of either console are going to be able to play great looking games and have a good time, so I agree with you. But to me, this is one of those areas that ‘affects playing games,’ so it’s one of the areas I value more on my console. I would definitely rather my console be the one with the advantage in graphics and performance over the one which lags slightly behind. The stuff that affects gameplay is more important to me than the other stuff, which is why I personally reject the premise on the comparison site Rob linked to, that ‘Services’ matter more than the hardware. Not for me viewing these products as game playing machines, they don’t.

Then there is ‘Kinect Creep’. I keep hearing 'Kinect is included for everyone, so developers would be more likely to use it'. This is a good thing? No, not for me. While I have had fun with some Kinect games, they definitely work best when I am in the mood for them. (Again, speaking personally. I know some folks love this thing) If developers start integrating Kinect features into basic game controls, which increases the frequency I need to yell at or gesticulate in front of the TV, this would be a negative for me. I don’t want to play most of my games this way, although the motioning and yelling at the TV would be good training for Rob’s aforementioned 'old man rest home gaming'. ;) If a console came with mandatory Bluetooth-enabled Russian nesting doll controllers, would this increase the chance of the ‘best ever’ Russian nesting doll game being made? Undoubtedly! But I don’t want to play Madden with Russian nesting dolls (Although we could simulate Rex Ryan’s sideline weight loss, perhaps!)

Anyway, I am getting off-subject. When evaluating the features I value in a game console, I am personally assigning greater weight to the game-playing affecting features, so a machine with a performance/graphics advantage (even if slight) will appeal to me more than a console that can play The CW shows for me while checking out my junk. ;)

I'm late to the party here but I picked up my preorder last Friday from Best Buy.

Our PS3 died last June so I havent touched a video game since. My kids have used the 360 and I still use it to stream ESPN3 and a few other things. Ive been spending my time playing APBA baseball and football on the tabletop along with the old Superstar Pro Wrestling dice game that my kids are loving.

It was fun to do the launch thing with my 11 and 8yo--they are so proud of our new toy. We ve got Madden/NBA/Fifa and Lego Marvel Heroes. I only play the sports games so it was a no brainer to go PS4 as The Show is my favorite game every year. Any game we get is typically available on both systems. Ive actually enjoyed Madden and NBA. Will give Fifa a shot when time allows (grabbed it at Target on the buy2 get 1 free deal). Kids sold their PS3 games and we paid for Lego so that was good too.

In other words, my opinion isnt going to sway any of you.

I did break my rule of usually not opting for extended warranties. I figure this thing is going to implode in the next 4 years so I did pull the trigger on the warranty.

I did preorder both systems as it was a no brainer to do so and I didnt know at the time which way the wind would blow me. Guess I'll be a pri** and try to flip it this Friday and take a few bucks off the PS4 cost.

Patiently waiting for the Show.

Tony
