Team selection is a random draw. Players in the DSPremiership (First Division), if they are changing teams, can only throw their hat into the Second Tier of teams for the draw; teams not in the First Division can choose to be drawn from either the Top Tier of the 15 best teams in the game, or the Second Tier. The rule of thumb for new members is that if you play offline at 3* or lower, you should select from the Top Tier; if you play offline at 4* or higher, you should select from the Second Tier (although if you are not in the First Division when you are changing teams, you are free to select a Top Tier, it's important to maintain a sense of fair play).

The random draw consists of three rounds. In each round, you can reject the team drawn for you and go in for the next round. You cannot get back a team you have rejected in the same season's draw. This means that the third round of the draw is FINAL, and whoever you get stuck with in the third round, that's who you've got for that season. Everyone can join the draw and change teams between seasons.

All the participants of each draw (Top Tier and Second Tier draws) are drawn at the same time, so on Monday when I post the 'Congrats and screw Newcastle :wink: ' thread, we all chime in whether we want to keep the same team for next season or join the draw. Most likely, there won't be many other changes than you Blub, but we'll see.

Squid... we lost connection again! I have to run to go to a birthday party, otherwise I would have run it one more time to see if we could get through it. Let me know what you want to do.

Season Six is over, folks. Forfeit losses and draws have been given for the outstanding games.

Look for a new thread congratulating the Champions, Rob and Newcastle. In this thread we will also ask any interested newcomers to join the league, as well as figure out all the team changing if any.

Thanks again to all for another excellent DSP WE League season, and remember Season Seven will take us right up to the release of WE 360 in the first week of February, so even though the posted deadlines will be the same, don't pay any attnention to them! I expect most games to be played between the 9th of January (after the Nat'l Championship game) and the 6th of February (the supposed shipping date for WE360 as listed on EB's website).

I would also love to do a second interdivisional Cup, if you guys are interested.

Guys, as you know I'm anxious to get in for the next season/tourney. I'm going to be out of town and away from the 'net until Thursday so I may miss the new thread when it opens. Just in case I'll take anyone, really, but would prefer Barca (as lame as that may be) since I followed them closer than anyone the last few years. If that's too cheesy, I'd be happy with Bayern, Lyon or whoever. Just please sign me up and I'll be able to play the matches after Thursday. My gamertag is cecilbturtle. TIA!

OK Folks, we are in final preparations for Season Seven, and I'm hoping to get the first-half schedule up tonight or tomorrow.

Here is the roster of league participants:
  • DSPremiership

    RobV - Newcastle Utd. FC (Tyneside) - St. James Park (Magpie Park)

    Slumberland = Villareal CF - Stadio Olimpico

    Jared = AS Monaco FC (Azur) - Stade Louis II (Monaco Stadium)

    fsquid = Fulham FC (West London White) - Sapporo Dome (Kanji Dome)

    Zeppo = Manchester City FC (Man Blue) - Råsunda (Stockholm Stadium)

    StCloud = Real Madrid CF - Pick 'Em

    DSPenultimate

    Fab. Bastard = AS Roma - Stadio Olimpico

    XXXIV = Arsenal - Highbury

    nyisles16 = Valencia CF - Estadio Mestalla (Estadio Palo)

    Mo = SS Lazio - Stadio Olympico

    Blublub = Olympique Lyonnais (Rhone) - Pick 'Em

We will also be doing a Second DSP WE League Cup. Four teams will have a bye into round two. They are:
  • RobV - Newcastle Utd. FC (Tyneside)

    Slumberland = Villareal CF

    Jared = AS Monaco FC (Azure)

    fsquid = Fulham FC (West London White)
The other eight teams will be randomly drawn into Round One to determine who will meet the above four in Round Two. Home and away will be random in both rounds, and future rounds will be randomly drawn again. Game settings for Cup games are identical to League game settings, but with Full Extra Time (no golden goal), and PKs ON. Cards from Cup games will only cont for future Cup games, but injuries will carry over from League to Cup games (if someone misses a game due to injury, he misses the next game you play whether its a Cup game or a League game).

I will do the random draw for the First Round as soon as the bracket is ready over at SGN.

Blublub, I think you already have an account at the SGN League site, so you should be set once Jason gets the standings built. Please make sure to read the very first post of this long thread, as it contains all the rules and regulations, game settings etc. for the league. If you have any questions after you've read that initial post, feel free to post here or PM me.

Finally, I need a home stadium for Cloud and Blublub; squid, if you want to change your stadium let me know. I am sticking with the Råsunda, myself. Everyone else's team's real stadium is in the game, so you guys are set.

Thanks, and we'll be able to get games started soon!

Season Seven First-Half Schedule Posted

Post by Zeppo »

DSP WE League Season Seven Underway With Posting Of First Half Schedule

The first-half schedule of the DSP WE League Season Seven has been posted, and the final Xbox season of the DSP WE League is underway!

The deadline for the first-half of Season Seven is Sunday, Dec 31. Please try to get your first-half games in by then, but don't be concerned if you are unable to do so. Extensions are built into this final Xbox season as we look forward to the February arrival of WE 360.

Make sure to use the appropriate game settings for season games. The game settings are listed below. The 'season' setting for the Sixth Season is WINTER.

Make sure that pause time, labeled 'time limit,' must be long, and number of pauses must be the maximum (7). Games should be played at the appropriate stadium.

  • Game Settings

    Games are to be played at these settings:

    Time Limit: Long
    Number of Pauses: 7
    Subs: 3
    Match Time: 20
    Match Type EX: No
    Match Type PK: No
    Condition: Random
    Injuries: Yes
    Time: (home team choice)
    Season: Winter (for this season cycle, will rotate in future seasons)
    Weather: Random
    Stadium: Home Team's Stadium
This season is not set to be completed before February, so there is plenty of time to get games played. The schedule is up so that those who can have a chance to get a few games done before the holidays, but most games, first and second half games, are expected to be played after the Nat'l Championship game on Jan. 8.

We will also be running a Second DSP WE League Cup, and I will post that draw in the coming days.

Good luck, have fun, and play fair!

You're in the Second Division, there Blublub.

Here is the draw for the first round of the Second DSP WE League Cup:
  • DSP WE League Cup First Round:

    Mo = SS Lazio
    v.
    XXXIV = Arsenal

    Blublub = Olympique Lyonnais (Rhone)
    v.
    nyisles16 = Valencia CF

    Fab. Bastard = AS Roma
    v.
    StCloud = Real Madrid CF
Remember, the Home team is on TOP.

Because we have eleven league members, the top five finishers from last season receive a bye and await the results of the above three matches after which a random draw will match teams up for the Second Round. The Third Round will also be determined by a random draw.

Each round is one game. Game settings are identical to the League games expept have E.T. type set to Full (not Silver or Golden Goal) and PKs set to On.
  • Cup Game Settings

    Cup Games are to be played at these settings:

    Time Limit: Long
    Number of Pauses: 7
    Subs: 3
    Match Time: 20
    Match Type EX: Full (league games = Off)
    Match Type PK: Yes (league games = Off)
    Condition: Random
    Injuries: Yes
    Time: (home team choice)
    Season: Winter (for this season cycle, will rotate in future seasons)
    Weather: Random
    Stadium: Home Team's Stadium
Injuries will carry over from League to Cup, but yellow and red card suspensions are specific to each competition. Jason should have the first round bracket up soon so you can record results, but please remember to post at least a scoring summary and cards and injuries here as well

Good luck, and play fair!

Typical Cloud/Bastard excitement. Both goalies had gray arrows down, but mine sure didn't play like it.

DSPLeague cup opener

Roma 4 - Real Madrid 1

Shots 25/15
SOG 12/6
Fouls 7/7
Off 2/1
Pos 48/52

Totti 4'
Cassano 7' 55'
Montella 52'

Ronaldo 90+'

So... I don't have to enter the score into the other site, right? That's only for the league, yes?

There's a Cup Bracket where you can enter the score, but I can do that in the next couple of days if you don't get to it. It can be found by going to the home page of the SGN League site. We are only tallying the score for these Cup games at SGN, not goal scorers or anything like that, and bookings and injuries should be noted here in the game report.
