Re: Forza Horizon 2
I finally unlocked clubs late last night when I sat back down to play this--and I got another 'Pro Drivatar' alert. When I tracked it down, I found out it was XXXIV's avatar. Nice, man!
You got me almost 75,000 credits just from beating cyber-you! They did a hell of a job, too. When the race started and my indicator said to go left, Cyber-XXXIV turned right. I have no idea why. He took off through a field and I never saw him again. I kept laughing, thinking your drivatar must have been drinking. Maybe they did model all of our behaviors...

Are we racing again tonight?

I could race tonight, must have just missed the invite last night as I called it a night just before 10:30. Did you guys have a private room set up? I tried starting a private session several times the last two nights and it always timed out and wouldn't start one up.

Re: Forza Horizon 2
No invite here... I was just grinding through another Championship and when I went to look at the map there was an option to join Jayhawker and when I connected there were 4 others in the session. Must have been private though, it was just DSP folks... Doesn't seem like the friendliest matchmaking.vader29 wrote:I could race tonight, must have just missed the invite last night as I called it a night just before 10:30. Ok, then the cool part was that you didn't have to send invites, I saw that you guys were playing and was able to jump in... Maybe "private" means any friends can join?Diablo25 wrote:I started a private session and PK, JayHawker and Leadfoot joined in. Good stuff

You guys kept racing last night. I thought we were done when Pete left. I think I had fun.

Mobil 1 Car Pack is now available
-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
-2013 Renault Clio RS 200
-1988 Volkswagen Scirocco 16v
-1957 Maserati 300 S
-1988 BMW M5 (free to all FH2 owners)
http://www.forzamotorsport.net/en-us/ne ... 1_car_pack
I am curious as to how they get some of these replay views in game. The FH2 replay cameras seem much more limited than FM5, or maybe I just have not figured it out yet. Either way, this preview video looks cool, but I would be curious as to if it is really done using the actual game that is available to all of us. I know it says in game footage, I am just not sure I can figure out how you would get some of those camera angles and cuts using the interface and cameras available.
Update from Turn 10's Brian Ekberg on Forza Horizon 2, first Car Pack and Server/Issues Update

-2015 Jaguar F-Type R CoupeAll the cars in the Mobil 1 Car Pack will be available on Tuesday, October 7, for $5. Players who own the Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass will be able to download the Mobil 1 Car Pack for free. This month, we are including a free additional car to the pack – the thunderous 1988 BMW M5 – which will be available to all Forza Horizon 2 players at no additional cost. Once purchased, all cars from the Mobil 1 Car Pack will be immediately available in Forza Horizon 2 at no additional in-game cost.

[UPDATE: 10/7 3:18 p.m.]
Afternoon update: The Mobil 1 Car Pack is now launched and should be accessible to all now or very soon (I just downloaded the pack on my personal Xbox One). When you launch Forza Horizon 2, you'll be prompted to update the game. If you have purchased the pack or the Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass, you'll find the cars from that pack available at the Autoshow. The cars in the Mobil 1 Car Pack should be purchasable for 0 credits in the Autoshow for those who own the pack or the Car Pass. As with Forza 5, this only counts for the first time you purchase that particular car.
Thanks and enjoy the pack!
[UPDATE: 10/7 11:11 a.m.]
The Mobil 1 Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 is being launched today. If you don’t currently have access to the pack, please be patient, it’s coming. Also, some Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass owners are not seeing the Mobil 1 Car Pack as “free”. This is due to a configuration error and Turn 10 is working with Xbox to correct this, which should happen soon. If you are a Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass owner, please do not try to re-purchase the Mobil 1 Car Pack. Once the configuration issues are solved, the Mobil 1 Car Pack will show up as “free” for Car Pass owners, as intended.
[UPDATE: 10/6 6:51 p.m.]
With the launch weekend of Forza Horizon 2 behind us, I wanted to keep you all in the loop on where we are with other game issues players are reporting to us. Some of these problems include various game freezes (such as when accessing leaderboards, or when entering the first Road Trip at Nice Massena), an issue where some players cannot load into Forza Horizon 2 from the main loading screen, controller disconnect problems with the game, as well as an issue we are seeing where strange characters sometimes appear on screen when players try to access leaderboards. We are aware of all of these issues and are busy working on solutions for them. I hope to be able to update you soon with more information.
In addition, a number of you have reported issues with still not receiving your Forza Rewards. We are investigating these instances on an individual basis and, once I have something more to report, I will do so in this thread.
Re: Forza Horizon 2
When you go into the replay after a race if you select the camera you can change to many views. But if you hit B, there are alternate angles within each view. I don't know if that's how they did this, but there are a lot of options. And if you take time to make severs clips from different, views and angles, you can then edit them together.
I would assume they are using a capture card to get footage and edit in something more flexible, but you ought to be able to get close.

I finally tried online last night, was setting a way-point on the map menu in single player and it said 34 was joinable online so I clicked to join and then it said the session was full, starting playing single player and a little bit later it automatically put me in his session when a spot opened up. Good stuff and will be even better with a full room of infected DSPers.

Game is a blast for sure.
Re: Forza Horizon 2
I have been struggling to figure out how to re-run events in FH2 using different cars within the same type or new types. I don't know why it seems more confusing to me than FH1's model, but this link shed some light on it for me along with some other helpful info. I still can't figure out how to just go back and re-run a complete championship with the same car. Anyway, thought this might be of interest to others.

PS - Is it just me, or do any of you feel any difference at all when racing in the rain (asphalt, dirt, or othersise). All the reviews talk about how the rain will force you to drive differently, but I have not found that to be the case at all. I am using a wheel, with all assists turned off. I ran the McLaren P1 at full throttle and did not have to drive any differently in the wet, or at least it sure did not feel that way. Just curious. Great game, I was just such a huge fan of the original Horizon that I am now in my nit-picking phase.

I absolutely feel it's different/challenging to drive in the rain. Re: Forza Horizon 2
I should be on, Pete. I don't think I've qualified for club status yet, so I'll look for some DSP cats and try to barge into their game. Or invite me, please!

Had a great time last night, been a long time since I've played with the DSP crew...
Re: Forza Horizon 2
I'll be on tonight, but probably later. That's 9pm here, and I don't usually game until after the wife is done with the TV. I usually get on between 11 and midnight CT.
Sometimes that depends on sports. I may watch the Blues season opener first, which puts me on even later. Depends on if I get the TV earlier, or if I get spoiled on the game and they lose.

Re: Forza Horizon 2
Likewise, that was fun for the brief stop I made. I got in when it was dying down, for the most part. And I still can't stand racing random guys. Being cockpit-only, I can't see around me, and I can't tell you how many times I got absolutely blasted by guys in those races last night. There were a few times we'd get side by side and we wouldn't know the other guy was there, but that's nothing compared to the guys you see aiming right at you. One dude flew into a 2nd gear 90 degree corner so fast, there's no way he was trying to slow down. He was trying to hit my RR and kill me.Fshguy wrote:Had a great time last night, been a long time since I've played with the DSP crew...
Plus I'll have to turn damage to visual or something, because that was pretty brutal with manual shifting+clutch, all damage on, and cockpit only with no look-around function to get my bearings in a pack
