Guys, my wife updated her blog again a few days ago.... http://hopeinthedarkestdays.blogspot.com/

As I type this, my wife and son are on their way to Wilmington, NC. This is where they transferred my sweet girl. It's over 3 hours from home so they are going to be staying in a hotel for a while. I have to work so I am doing all I can to keep my mind as busy as possible.

One of my wife's friends set up a YouCaring donations page to help us with medical expenses, travel costs, etc. It was so kind of her to do so. At the same time, I so dislike feeling needy...and want to be the guy that doesn't need help.

Thanks again guys for being there for me...please keep those prayers coming.

Guys I am having a really tough time. My daughter has been in a hospital now for over 2 weeks. She is over 3 hours away, and my wife and son have been staying in a hotel to be close by. So I have not seen any of them in that time (we are currently just a one vehicle family....and I have had to stay home to work). Needless to say, this is also really tough on my little son who just wants to be home as well.

I get one 10 minute call a day to hear my sweet girl's voice, and tell her I love her. She tells me how homesick she is, and I do my best to reassure her that things will be ok. After the calls, I find myself amped up, wanting nothing more than to just bring her home....if even against medical advice. I calm down knowing this is what she needs right now, but it's killing me.

From a financial standpoint, naturally medical costs are just a parasite that never seem to die. They just keep coming. With this out of town hospitalization we have new costs....hotel, meals, gas, etc. A friend of my wife has set up a YouCaring page to help us. I hate to ask, but I am honestly quite desperate. So if you feel led, I am posting the link for donations:

We were hoping that my daughter would be coming home today, but we were given Friday as the release day (assuming no hiccups). Needless to say, we all had our hopes dashed. Silver lining is that we at least have a specific day to look to. As my sweet girl said to me during our 10 minute phone call, "at least I will be home for Father's Day!"....gosh I love her.

Steve, stay strong in your Faith man... I'm praying for you and your family. I admire you for standing up to this and being a source of hope for your daughter. Thank God for friends like Tracy Burkett and what she's doing through the travel fund; you're blessed to have her in your life!

Thank you guys for the continued prayers and support. They mean the world to me and my family.

Also a big thank you for the donations. We are still battling to get out of that hole, but we are so appreciative for all the help.

Last night I had the toughest phone call with my sweet girl. It was the first time she actually cried on the phone with me. My wife has seen it all too often during visits, but she usually keeps it from deal old Dad. I know that she is just so homesick, and that paired with our condition is just bringing about even more anxiety. Praying for a better day and for Friday to arrive very quickly.

My sweet girl came home today (Friday)! We are so happy to have her home, and have a Birthday (she was in the hospital for her actual b-day) / Welcome Home get together planned for Saturday afternoon. You guys are family and wish you all could attend.

She came home with there still being delusions. The meds just aren't working, but she is "safe" at this point. This may be the most trying time we have had after a hospitalization. Please keep those prayers and good thoughts coming.

I also wanted to once again thank you guys for the donations. I would love to thank you personally, and have tried to do so where I could. With us having screen names, and my not knowing everyone's actual ones, I have not been able to do that.

We are still in a major financial hole, and I feel like we will never be able to dig out of it. I hate asking for help, but I don't know what else to do. I can't tell you how stressed I get every time I check the mail. In fact, we have one hospital threatening collections for a 2015 bill that the insurance company failed to pay on.

Hi guys. Hope this message finds you all well.

I was chatting with one of our DSP brothers and I realized that I forgot to let you guys know that my wife's blog was updated in late December. If you would like to check it out, please see http://hopeinthedarkestdays.blogspot.com/

Last week my daughter went to a home school winter formal. It was really a special time....getting to see her doing what so many girls her age do, was special. If you want to check out the pics, please see my facebook page (feel free to friend me if we are not already).

Thanks!
