do we all get our own condo or does our crew share one? I really don't want to use the virtual bathroom after some of you.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
So I'm sitting here training Chop the Dog on the iPhone app, and I teach him to play fetch. I toss the ball too hard and it goes off the screen. He goes off screen for a moment... then returns with a purple bong in his mouth. Good boy!!!! Good boy!!!

EDIT: Oh god... I won't spoil what he brought back next...

Man, this is the most I've looked forward to a game in a while. The online should be such a cool experience. October 1st is a long ways off!

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Still definitely getting the game tomorrow, but this excerpt kinda sums up why this game inevitably will get shelved after a while.....
The Escapist
Sep 16, 2013
70 It is the difference between The Godfather Part 1 and Part 2, between Inglorious Basterds and Triumph of the Will, and between Just Cause 2 and JFK Reloaded. In the former examples, the audience can get behind the anti-heroes depicted for whatever reason and condone their admittedly awful actions, but in the latter group, the subject matter or the protagonist's morals are skewed too far from the norm to be comfortably witnessed. That's what it's like to play Grand Theft Auto V. The three men you take control of throughout the game aren't even anti-heroes. They're just scumbags.
And then I read the CNET review and I wish I had taken a day off tomorrow!

That's the lowest review.. so I don't take much salt in The Escapist... maybe they are the scumbags..sportdan30 wrote:Still definitely getting the game tomorrow, but this excerpt kinda sums up why this game inevitably will get shelved after a while.....

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
For f*ck's sake: I don't want to be an anti-hero. I WANT TO BE A SCUMBAG. That's why I buy and play GTA games. One of my first tasks in GTA III was to plow a hooker, pay her and then beat her to a pulp with a baseball bat to get my money back.sportdan30 wrote:The three men you take control of throughout the game aren't even anti-heroes. That's GTA, MOTHERF*CKERS!

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Played for about an hour - opening prologue and then first mission. Driving is different from GTA IV - not sure I'm a big fan, you can really stop on a dime now -seems much more arcadey than the previous game. Shooting is much better. The world is absolutely MASSIVE.
Can't think, mind is fried - sure I'll come up with something more eloquent tomorrow.

Got my UPS tracking info from Microsoft Store and delivery is scheduled for today!
Drop Shot Posse Crew update:
I went over all the requests to join the Crew and sent out invites. As of last night we had 11 members, plus 4 pending invites. If I missed anyone, let us know - all DSP Crew members are also able to send invites to join.
There is a Forza type layer/object Emblem designer. Anyone here who enjoys playing around with that, feel free to make an Emblem (multiple Emblems can be saved) for the Drop Shot Posse.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Took the day off so me and my 4 month old son are playing
Some other thoughts;
i. Save anywhere - FINALLY! Welcome to 2005, Rockstar!
ii. The character swapping is very neat
iii. Franklin's slow-mo driving special move is very neat - ripped off Burnout in that you have to drive dangerously to build it up. Still not sold on the new driving physics though.
iv. The hand to hand combat animations are great. I knocked the f@$# out of someone with Franklin and the guy dropped like a stone.
v. Really like the random world events - two guys were robbing an ATM and I helped them get away from the cops, other time I took down a handbag thief and returned the bag to it's rightful owner. Little things but like RDR add a bit more life to the world.
vi. I mentioned it before but the shooting is so much better than before (I was just playing GTA IV in the past few days)
vii. The tennis mini-game is fun but nothing mindblowing. Would probably be more fun in multiplayer.
viii. I can't sign into the iFruit app - anyone else having this problem?

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Also having trouble signing into the app.
Had the game preordered from BB, but the TRU deal was much better. I grabbed V, plus an extra Rock* game.
Don't understand how I could just walk in on the day of and get a game of this magnitude. Makes me think preordering a tad overhyped and unnecessary.
All that being said, I have the game and I have to go to work.

Um yeah. Been that way for years. These big games always have enough copies at launch. The only games worth pre-ordering these days are the niche ones that stores get like 1 or 2 copies of...if that.Murph wrote:Don't understand how I could just walk in on the day of and get a game of this magnitude. Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Just got home with the game and my wife, who I've never seen pick up a game controller, says "Is that a two player game? I want to go bang some hoes in a car." Um, didn't see in any of the reviews how this game brings husbands and wives closer together but what a perk!!
Re: Grand Theft Auto V
...lol, this game ain't right...
But it's huge, and it's funny, and it's fun so far. Honestly, I can't wait to just do what I want for several hours, though. These characters are some of the worst jerks in GTA history!
