Aside from the "fanboy" rants that go on at some sights, I have no problems with the comparisons. I do realize that it can be frustrating for someone that doesn't have a PS3. However, right now The Show is the king of baseball video gaming. 2K, or any other game, should be targeting that game and trying to top it. It is the measuring stick. When BFBC2 arrives next week the inevitable comparisons to MW2 will start flowing...and I like that. It gives some perspective to someone considering buying the game.

Doesn't bother me some place like DS - but it drives me nuts over at OS because it's pure fanboyism.

I'm at the age that if a game is crap, I'll either not buy or trade it in on something else coming out. Days of buying a console just for 1 game are over for me. :) It would be nice to have The Show on the 360 though!

I'm seeing a lot of nice little things with the MLB 2k10 demo though.. yes I've also seen some glitches, but nothing that hurt game play. Threw a runner out from RF last night when the CPU tried to score from 2nd base, he bowled my catcher over, but he held onto the ball.

I think the demo is pretty solid, I like it. I also liked 2K9.

However I already have The Show on pre-order, as I love the RTTS mode, and the catcher mode sounds great this year. I will probably snag MLB 2K10 off of Steam for my PC.

BF:BC2 and MW2 are both multiplatform. Thus, the comparisons are useful. One game is never worth shelling out 400 dollars for, just because it may 'be better' than the one on the other platform, when one of them is platform exclusive.
It's why I thought that the comparisons between ME2 and Uncharted 2 and which is better were stupid and useless. They are both exclusive to a console. So, so what?

OF COURSE the ps3 owning Show crowd is going to buy the Show, and of course they're going to declare it better than 2K. And it may very well be. But I'm never going to know, nor care.

So the Show is better...that means what to a 360 owner?

Again, Madden, NFL 2k, FIFA, WE...all multiplatform. Fair game.

Here's a thought: Rather than wasting space putting up a new MLB 2kWhatever thread, just find and bump any of the previous years' threads. Same with The Show. You'll find the comments to be just as illuminating, enlightening, and informative.

Umm...the same could be said for every game of a "franchise" so...overruled.

It means nothing.

These PS3 owners that dropped $400 for a PS3 / The Show have to justify it to themselves by declaring "The Show" being the best thing since canned beer. But I think the comparison is not valid. It's like comparing a Windows program to a Mac program.

Best and only real comparison of MLB2K10 is to last year's game.

Must we really make this thread in to a 2K10 vs. The Show? Quit feeding the beast and leave the impressions to 2K10. I may not purchase 2K10, but I'm still interested in hearing the pros and cons.

Thanks!

I got a PS3 in addition to my 360 for many reasons, the Show being one of them.I would still have a PS3 without it,though.

The Show is,in my opinion, the best team sports game out there right now.
In fact,it is the only one left that I play with any regularity.

There are now so many compelling games from other genres,I can't put up with the glaring problems and foibles of the usual sports release.
In fact,if I can't nail sliders within a short amount of time, the game is gone.

And that's done all of the time here whenever a windows thread comes up and nobody seems to care.

I still stand by what I said earlier in the thread and if people don't want to read it they don't have to. It's a perfectly valid point to make in this thread that applies to a good-sized segment of this population. Those it doesn't matter to have the option to ignore. I do it all of the time on these boards. Do we really need to start making special subrules for MLB 2k/The Show since it's a special situation? If we're getting that extreme I may have to reevaluate why I come to these boards to begin with. :D

To say something of the actual demo, I am going between loving and hating the pitching in this game. I think it's cool that there's different motions to do for each pitch. It does help add to the immersion. The problem I have, however, is with the execution of the controls. There were far too many times where my motions didn't register properly. When it works it is pretty fun though.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I have had no problem with the pitching motions.

The few times I messed up, I knew why, and to be honest, when I pitched in real life, I missed my spots aplenty :)

As someone famous said, if baseball was easy, everyone would play :) :)

played some more of the demo....

I think I will definitely buy the full game. I am happy with the improvements made over last year and I think it will keep me busy for a few months.

The thing that bugs me most is the HUGE strike zone. If a pitch catches 1 millionth of the edge of the plate, its a strike. This had been an issue for as long as I can remember.

The online will keep me busy until Dead Red Revolver. Don't have it in me to play a full season anymore (regardless of this or the "other" game).

Audio insight part 1

To me, it really seems like they have busted their asses off this year. I can live with little glitches here and there, I just hope this game does well for 2k this year.

Been a loyal buyer of MLB 2k through the years. After years of frustration and even thinking about buying a PS3, seems finally I'll get the baseball game I've always wanted.

With the addition of My Player mode, MLB Today adaptive commentary, and stunning stadium graphics, including working scoreboards, I can see myself playing this until MLB 2k11 releases.

After talking with my local gamestop, I'll be picking this up at 1201am Tuesday morning. A lot of gamestops are having midnight release for Battefield and mine has said they will allow the baseball games to be picked up also

Deleted the demo, I got fed up with the pitching finger gymnastics. I absolutely suck pitching in this game.

I still think I'm leaning towards 2K10...I really really like the way it plays and I love how beautiful it looks on my 1080p monitor. PS3 is only hooked up to my 1080i tv so that's going to be a negative against the Show for me as it won't compare graphics wise to 2K10....and yes I'm fully aware that that is my issue there but thats just the way it is for now until I get a 1080p tv. I'm really at a loss on what to do here come Tuesday. I'm starting to think the graphics whore in me is going to win out.

Damn you Teal! How dare you have a bad day! That upbeat attitude you have 99.9% of the time just isn't enough! Look on the bright side, BFBC2 comes out the same day as the baseball games :)

As far as the game...I'm still on the fence about the full version. The final version will, obviously, be better. Gonna mess around with the demo more today (on another f'n snow day) I'll be waiting for impressions from you guys before buying. Don't lie to me!

Is it really that tough to make a half a circle or go up and down? 8O

Better stay away from the Tony Hawk games! :)

You know I want to say no but yeah it's pretty tough to make a half circle. And yeah I do suck at Tony Hawk too.

I know i'm not supposed to mention the other game but there are other ways to be challenged other than to perfect the finger gymnastics to bring up the missile lock.

Sorry for plagiarizing you db. :)
