I am thinking of picking it up, but I only have a 4850 right now. If I could just find a 5850.dbdynsty25 wrote:Wow...if any of you have the rig to run it, the PC version of Dirt 2 is RIDICULOUS. Controls just as good as the console version, just looks significantly better with the DirectX 11 code. I cannot believe how much cleaner it looks compared to the console version. I got it for free when I bought my ATI 5850...so that makes it even better!

And yeah...that 5850 was purchased the minute they became available. I'm so glad I got it when I did since they are impossible to get these days. I got lucky. Weird...I'm saying I got lucky to spend 270 dollars on a video card. LOL...at least now they are up over 300 if you can find them so I suppose I got a deal.

Like I said racing games like GRID, NFS: Shift, Dirt 1&2 I enjoy on the 360 instead of the PC. The racing games I have on the PC are typically racing sims.
I don't know what's the difference in terms of visual quality is DX11 vs DX10. The card I bought is a DX10.1, i've read it does use some of the features of DX11 but i'm sure not all of them. Anyway enjoy Dirt 2.

Between DiRT2, NFS Shift, GRID and now Reflex, there is a gluttony of quality racing games for the 360 owner to be very happy with.Rodster wrote:Like I said racing games like GRID, NFS: Shift, Dirt 1&2 I enjoy on the 360 instead of the PC. Should be fine...won't be as badass as it is on a DirectX 11 card, but your video card should be ok.Rodster wrote:I took advantage of the deal GoGamer had going for the PC version $10.90, so my question is does this thing play smooth on an aged computer?
My specs are:
E6750 CPU, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, nividia 9800GTX+ 512MB RAM, ViewSonic 10" WS 1680x1050 resolution and Windows 7.

Re: DIRT 2
I'm digging this game even more than DIRT 3. There's less grip and none of that gymkhana bullsh*t.
Very pleased with my purchase for $5 in the Xbox Live Gold Ultimate Sale this week.

Re: DIRT 2
Dirt 2 was such a great game that if they would have made Dirt 3 exactly the same with updated tracks it could have been great too, instead the gymkhana crap ruined it for me.

Re: DIRT 2
The original Dirt has Pike's Peak Hill Climb, that would be worth $5 in and of itself. Unfortunately, at least at this point, DIRT is still showing as $29.99 in the XBL On-Demand list of games.

Re: DIRT 2
I have no idea why I bought this the other day for 5 bucks since I've already played through the entire game on my PC. WTF was I thinking. LOL. Still think the original was the best Dirt...3 is by far the worst.
