With the Big 12 holding the 4th, 5th and 6th spots in the BCS rankings, we might see some leapfrogging in the top 3 BCS spots when #6 Mizzou and #4 KU faceoff, and then the winner takes on #5 Oklahoma for the Big 12 championship (assuming those 3 teams continue to run the table until they meet each other).sportdan30 wrote: Good luck to Mizzou this evening!

Oh baby, what an awesome day of D1 football.RobVarak wrote:That is easily the most gratifying Illinois win I've ever seen. There is nothing quite like silencing 111,000 OSU fans.
If KU ends up undefeated, having just beaten the #4 and #5 BCS teams back to back, don't you think they'll either get enough computer points to vault them into the 2nd BCS spot, OR they might get enough votes to put them #2 in one or both of the human polls?seanmac31 wrote:I totally agree. The Big 12 teams have no shot unless there is an LSU loss in the SEC title game (Oregon's not losing again this year).bkrich83 wrote:If Oregon and LSU win out, no one is going to jump them.
Nope. I don't think so. Stranger things have happened, but I don't think it will happen.jondiehl wrote:If KU ends up undefeated, having just beaten the #4 and #5 BCS teams back to back, don't you think they'll either get enough computer points to vault them into the 2nd BCS spot, OR they might get enough votes to put them #2 in one or both of the human polls?seanmac31 wrote:I totally agree. Agreed 100 percent. Even the media are becoming believers of KU and MU. If KU runs the table against ISU, MU, and OU, they're in without a doubt. It would be a travesty if they allowed two one loss teams in the Championship game.tjung0831 wrote:I think one of the big 12 teams has an excellent shot at at leaping over the #2 team...whoever that might be in a few weeks.

A perfectly awesome thing.
But bdunn, I hope you are enjoying the HELL out of the GA-AU game, because I'd be pulling my hair out right now...

As it stands now Kansas has a Strength of Schedule of 86. LSU is at 17 and Oregon at 3. How much is playing OU and Mizzou going to make up?Brando70 wrote:If Kansas goes undefeated, I don't see how they can't play in the national title game. In fact, I think they would have to be the #1 team in the polls at that point, even if LSU wins out. Their strength of schedule would be a non-issue after wins over Mizzou and the Big 12 title game opponent.
I'm not trying to suggest that Oregon isn't an elite team and deserving of a high ranking. Kansas has definitely had an easier schedule. But I don't think a team from a BCS conference should be denied a spot in the championship game if it is the only undefeated BCS team left. What I wonder is whether the Harris voters and Coaches would rank KU #1 if they finish undefeated, which would probably give them enough juice in the BCS to go to the title game. To me, they should be the #1 team in that case even if they played a weaker schedule.bkrich83 wrote:As it stands now Kansas has a Strength of Schedule of 86. LSU is at 17 and Oregon at 3. Just a side note. OU is at 65 and Mizzou is at 43.
