I'm pretty sure they get a DNF, but I don't know that there's any other penalty they get.

Oh, one other thing (and I promise I'll stop spamming up the thread after this)... I noticed that for a while last night, DSP CC was showing a "0" on the global world CC rankings. Apparently, once you drop out of the top 100, you get deranked. I thought that was odd because the game will show you where you rank globally over tens of thousands of live players, why should the club rankings stop at 100?

Frustrating round...those greens at Birkdale are nasty. I was +4 after 6 holes, and got my first birdie on 7. And to top it off, it started to rain with about 4 holes to go which slowed the greens down and made me second guess myself more. Finished at -1 with 33 putts. Definitely some breaks in there that weren't recognized on the grid. I had a 7 footer for birdie, level slope, with the grid telling me there was a very very slow break to the left. I aimed just to the right edge of the cup, still inside the cup mind you, and the putt broke right! Bah! Naples that -6 is a very good score...nice round.

Also, is anyone else seeing more randomness after the patch in their tee and approach shots? Maybe it was just this course but I would be perfect on my swing and still miss the fairway in very low wind conditions.

Does anyone else see the issues where it looks like you landed in the sand, but then you are magically outside of the bunker for your next shot, or vice-versa (which is worse)? It seems to be happening more with the patch....

Ok, thanks. Worst case was when my ball landed safely a couple of feet from the water, but my next shot was from the tee box... :x

J_Cauthen wrote:Mark, if you can comment on what you saw when I did this last night, it could perhaps point to a viable solution to the problem we're having getting head to head matches launched. It's hardly any trouble to create a room in the "Difficulty" sub-room in the main XBL Tiger 13 lobby, so if this is actually as straightforward as it seemed last night, it would be fantastic!
John:

All I did was enter the Xbox Live Lobby and I easily found "DSP C Club". When I clicked on it the process was the same as playing in a room in the H2H CC lobby.

Lately, I'm missing so many 6 foot and under putts!

I think that I may be trying your "PP exploit" method of putting again if things don't get better for me.

Just couldn't get anything started in today's Daily. Only one birdie and several bogeys. +4

Started out -5 through 7 and the tournament ended, so I could not finish. My bad for starting so late.

And yes, I am noticing more randomness in my tee and approach shots as well.

So when when I created the game within the DSP C Club room, the game showed up with an option for you to join from within the room? I just wondered how many hoops you may have had to jump through to join my game.

Well, my PPRM only works for me on putts of greater than 8 feet, or where 8 feet of putting stroke strength is needed.... and it's not an "exploit", it's an *alternative* :P  I'll add a foot with the targeting cursor on putts of less than 8 feet, and then ease off on the stroke proportionally to what I think is needed. This keeps me out of the hyper-sensitive overswing region, which can be deadly for putting!

Oh, and you saw last night what happens when my PPRM breaks down... I left a 52 foot putt 30 feet short of the hole because I got wonkey on my forward stroke. So rhythm is still part of it, you just can't get lazy with it.

I'm noticing that I'm having more trouble playing draws, paricularly off the tee with my driver. I tend to lose them to the left, which I'm cool with. I'm playing a riskier shot and it should be more punitive. I'm picking up more and more on the randomness also, but it seems to come in the form of a darting jump right off the clubface. Doesn't happen everytime and it's often subtle enough to where I have to ask myself, did it happen. There are times when it's pretty glaring though.

Was running even par on Ol' Whitey, then OB'ed in a damned stream, and wound up with a triple bogey. Bogeyed two more after that, to put me at +5. But man, I nailed a 65 footer on 17 for eagle! Of course, I pissed it away with a bogey on 18...

Ya, and I also saw that 60+ foot putt that you drained too! 8)

BTW, I was just kidding with you about the "exploit" comment. However, I'll keep quiet about your use of a "keyboard" in the game.

Is this "randomness" an increase in the implementation of random landing in Tournament mode with the patch?

I hit a perfectly straight approach shot last night that went about 30 yards right of the pin (calm winds). :?

Good score on the daily Leadfoot, and I see that you're just on fire on the weekly. Wow.

Thanks 10s! Was really happy with the -9 on the daily, so I jumped right into all 4 rounds at Sawgrass. Finished -2, -8, -8, -3 for a final -21 that I hope will keep me in the top 5 this week. We'll see, as the top guys are sitting pretty after the first round. I won't be surprised to see at least 2 or more folks in the -30's....

I can see how more power would have probably netted me about 6 to 8 more strokes over the course of the tourney. Still grinding with my CAG....

And it felt sooooooo good! I love rolling long putts more than holing out a 30 yard pitch!

Yeah, I knew you were... but I honestly worried that my method would be seen as cheesing by some early on. Now that I've played about 4 dozen different people online, I'm learning that there are all sorts of different approaches to the putting in Tiger 13. Mine is probably still the most extreme, but it can still betray me when I get sloppy. I have to adopt a totally different mindset once I get inside of 8 feet, and need to adopt the TSC approach.

I want to congratulate you for extracting some revenge on this sneaky beast of a course that for some reason has owned me since it made it's way to the 360  Seriously, My average score on this course is probably -1, with a 63 being my lowest ever. I really respect what you did at Greenbriar today - outstanding golf sir!

This truly is an evil course in my eyes :) I don't know what it is but my knees buckle on quite a few of the holes here. I played the par 5's in one under par today, including a scrambling par on the 17th where you scored your eagle. I knocked my tee shot within 3 feet of the hole on 18 to finish with a birdie. Good thing... I saw the breaks beyond 3 feet around the hole and it looked like a Martian crater! 8O

I've had something weird happen on the last two rounds I've played which has devastated my scores (not that they were any good to begin with). I had a hole on each round where I ended up in the bunker and could not hit the ball out no matter what. I tried adjusting angle, point of contact, even different clubs. No matter what I did the ball would go what appeared to be a couple inches and land back in the bunker. This repeated until I hit the shot limit. Very frustrating as my first round of the weekly would have probably been around +5 instead of the +13 or so that I ended up with. Any ideas what I could have done to get out of the bunker?

I've never had a problem getting out of the bunker, though in some situations you may have to get out sideways or backwards, in theory.

It sounds like you're not using the right stick to adjust where you strike the ball. When in the bunker, use the right stick to swing into the lower half of the ball, or even under the ball entirely.

I was adjusting the strike with the other stick and that didn't help. I didn't try getting out sideways or backwards. I'll give that a shot the next time it happens. Thanks!
