Real Madrid played host to Dortmund this morning and after the 3-1 defeat they took in the 1st leg, were hoping to come away with points in the battle with Div 3's top team.
The game started very tentatively as both sides probed but neither could break through entirely. After 35 minutes of play, Buckley turned the defender in the box and scored a brilliant goal from a free kick. Fearing a breakout, Real was able to tighten up a bit and had a chance to equalize in injury time but Robinho's header nailed the post so Real went into the half down 1-0. The second half was more Dortmund as they kept the pressure on trying to get a cushion to their lead. Casillas made some incredible saves to keep his team in it. Finally in the 72nd minute on a Ronaldo through pass, Robinho was taken down in the box (err...dive, dive dive dive). Ronaldo was able to put it past the keeper to for the equalizer.
The game opened up for a bit as both teams squandered chances to take the lead and despite the considerable difference in possession the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Great game...sorry about the penalty, it did look a little questionable.

I got your invite after I got home sorrySlumberland wrote:Dave360, I'm not sure if you're on my friends list yet or not. I'm gonna pop in some other games for a while but if you want to shoot me an invite or set up a match, my tag is the same as my DSP handle. I'll keep an eye out.

Real Madrid came into this game leading Division III looking to get more points in the promotion fight. Juventus has struggled all season and was looking to get back on track. Juventus and the little used Mutu got off to a flying start with a goal in the 1st minute. Then off a free kick Mutu connected again in the 10th minute. Mutu, now on fire, connected one more time in the 27th minute off another free kick for a natural hat trick.
Juventus went into a shell to protect the lead in the second half. Real Madrid threw everything they had at Juventus, and eventually connected with Raul in the 87th minute. Juventus hung on for a 3-1 victory and much needed points in the third division.
