It's really sad. As we get closer to launch, I know I don't have time to play two new systems but I'm looking for ways to dump my current 360 and to transition to the Xbox One as well as the already paid for ps4. I'm addicted. So sad.

I stroll into Best Buy to pick up NBA2K for the PS4 and they won't sell it to me because it has a street date of 11/15. Other PS4 games are on the shelf, so a game no one can play anyway hasd a street date.

Apparently, there are quite a few people getting NBA 2K14 from Game Stop. However, when I inquired, I was told it's not coming out until 11/15. Yesterday, I grabbed a copy of Fifa 14, but the sales guy had to get the game from the back. I had to stop in today for something else so I walked over to the game section, and Fifa 14 is still not on the shelves. I honestly think no one really has a clue when games can and will be put on the shelves. I think it would make the most sense by having all the launch titles available on Tuesday. That way, Friday is a heck of a lot smoother when picking up the PS4.

I agree, especially when some are on the shelves I saw Kanck and KZ. I don't really understand the logic of holding them back unless they think people will buy them out and try and resell them but that seems a bit of a stretch.

Of course I am assuming Amazon is going to ship my PS4 and I will have it on Friday. Since I originally had a Watchdogs launch bundle I'm still not feeling confident I will be getting it on launch day.

Well that's what Microsoft wants you to believe. They want people to think of their device as my functional, so it's working. They know they can't compete spec wise with the PS4 as far as sheer horsepower goes, so by saying you do MORE, it makes up for that. They simply HAD to do that...that's the marketing spin route that they were forced to establish. Nothing wrong with that. It's what differentiates them. Not sure why you're so bothered by it.

I'm bothered by people that seemed concerned that the Xbox One won't be a great gaming machine because of MS's focus on the media angle. I understand your point but to me it feels more of the opposite. I feel like Sony is having to take the stance on being "gamer focused" to make up for the lack of other innovative features rather than MS having to make up for a lack of horsepower.

It's been very well documented that no one really knows if that extra horsepower will actually translate into any meaningful differences in graphics, especially in the first few years of this gen's life. You can throw all the extra horsepower in the world into your machine, but at the end of the day, CoD will look like CoD on both consoles. Madden will look like Madden. etc... The handful of Sony exclusives (that are actually worth buying) 3-4 years down the road may have a decent edge in overall graphics compared to the Xbone exclusives because of this extra horsepower, but it will never be as significant as say a current gen Wii game compared to a PS3 one. The games for both consoles throughout this entire generation will be pretty close and then it just comes down to what games are more fun to play.

I don't think MS is sweating the difference in specs from the PS4. I don't think that has forced them into a new marketing spin. I think their approach for marketing this as a media device was well in play before they found out what PS4's specs were.

Just snagged NBA2k14 for the PS4 from Gamestop. No questions asked. I had it preordered from Amazon but when I saw it I figured I'd grab it just to be sure I have it for Friday (yes, I am a dork for this s*** but so are you guys ) I'll just cancel my Amazon preorder.

No, and I LIKE the fact that the x1 is going to utilize the Kinect. I like that more games with take advantage of it. That is a bonus feature that I'm glad MS is providing. IF they didn't include the Kinect the two system would be exactly the same aside from the placement of the left thumb stick on the controller.

To think that you're really going to get a better gaming experience on the PS4 just because the X1 has more media features is laughable.

It's amazing how much people have bought into Sony's marketing strategy. Sony saw that they didn't have the same kind of media features as MS so the marketing department found a way to spin it in their favor. It's called spin, it' what marketing is all about. In the end, the gaming experience will be same on both systems and I doubt either one will outsell the other by a wide margin.

To be fair, I think what a lot of people are thinking about is how much worse most multi platform games have been on PS3 versus the 360 versions.

In this thread, folks seem to be siding with the PS4 for multi platform games because of a perception that the PS4 will do a better job, but I think it remains to be seen if the Xbone is actually going to be as bad as the PS3 proved to be. We will really know only once the machines are both out there in the world and we can see for ourselves.

The Live stuff remains a huge part of the package for me, so I tend to be leaning towards Xbone for EA Sports games and such.

I don't think we'll see anything earth shattering from either machine. The Kinetic 2 does have one thing in it's favor the original one didn't, which is no fragmentation. I read there's a cool launch game you can download free that uses the Kinect 2. It's also possible that since every XONE will have a Kinetic, devs may showcase the camera this time around. Nothings a given but hopefully we'll see games utilize it more.

Who said that? I fully expect the PS4 to be the more powerful and graphically impressive machine. That's not because the Xbox One has more media features...it's because it's inferior hardware! That said...I scrounged up enough discretionary money to buy both so of course I'll buy one. I need to play Forza. Haha. Both kick the crap out of the current gen machines so who cares really when it comes down to it.

I wonder if Amazon is going to do this for the XBone? I am racking my brain trying to decide which game to get (other than ACBF). I already have NBA 2k14. There aren't any other PS4 launch games pulling me in. I keep hedging on Madden, COD AND KillZone but just can't decide. Maybe I'll just get one and eBay it. If they do an XBone deal like this I'd be pumped.
