So just to be clear, we're playing the daily with Pro Tom Casey, correct?

Tomorrow (Tuesday)

We plan to test a few things. All playing with the same pro.
Green grids off
Putt preview on.

Starting tomorrow I will schedule next weeks weekly from Monday through Sunday so you have the whole week to play. Too late for this week since you can't edit or delete an event (nice job EA) and I would like to know what people think of no Green grids and putting preview after trying the daily tomorrow.

Thanks

Really felt great on the daily today. Shot a -8 and might have had a shot at Ortho's -9, except I got too greedy on 15 and watched it roll off the back of the green into the water... Still, I think that was my best round on any course yet. :D

Thanks...Unfortunately I was -6 at the turn and had to birdie the last two holes just to tie (at the time) for first. Tough round, but once you figure how to club up/down factoring the wind speed, it is not too tough. I find more challenge with playing those winds from L-R and vice versa....

Just an FYI reminder.

I set up today's daily starts at 6pm after the PGA National daily is done from yesterday.

1. Play the round with Paul Casey instead of your CAG.
2. Green grids are off and Putt preview is on.
3. Live Weather.

Yeah, I woke up this morning and played the daily before my run. I used Paul Casey thinking in my head that Danimal said "tomorrow". Um, I jumped the gun on that one a little bit lol.

Will be sure to use him again tomorrow for the Daily as well.

I'm thinking I might need to play a practice round with Casey just to get accustomed to his putting stroke animation, or is it any different than the one the CAG's use?

I came within a foot off going off the back and into the water. The little patch of rough there was enough to stop the ball. I played my pitch to within 5 feet and made birdie. -8's a great round though. BTW, could you tell a difference in the Tour Pro swing difficulty that was in force for this one? There were several times when I could tell I got away with some slop that would have otherwise punished me a bit more.

I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't notice. My putting is based on timing and touch and not so much animation of the character on the screen. Sounds weird I know, but that's how I roll. *ba-dump-bump!*

I take that back, I do focus on the club head as well. Just not the golfer as a whole.

Oh no, that's what it was!?! I shot my best round ever and my first sub par in the Daily. I was even -5 with just a couple holes to go and had a double bogey that took me to -3 for the round. Damn, and I thought I was getting better all of a sudden. It was DEFINITELY more forgiving if it was set at Tour Pro. To be honest, I am surprised there were not much lower scores. Before I had my double freeze on Sunday, I had posted a +24 for one round in the Weekly and I was about to give up. To go from that pathetic effort to a -3 in a 24 hour period did seem like a pretty dramatic change. Now I know why.

Picked up CE and got to say the game is much more polished than last years.

Still trying to figure out the whole new tempo swing and all the other tips Nantz is telling me.

BTW - on XB version, how do I access the DLC ?

I am starting to get suspicious as for the timing of the freezes on my CC matches. Never mind the quitters. I squeezed in 2 CC matches this morning, won a tournament level one and on the second one, I mounted a come back on the last 4 holes and came back to win the event at Els. Problem is, just about I was to press continue to watch the final stats, the damn game freezes on me. Or does the other guy have something to do with, the way he melted down? In any case, damn frustrating, waste of time and points.

If you're like me, Tour Pro doesn't mean as many strokes to me as I thought it would. I'd say I'll score about 3 or 4 strokes less, on average, in Tour Pro versus Tournament. IOW, don't throw your -3 out because it was Tour Pro :D That probably equates to a +1 or +2 Tournament difficulty round, at worst.
To be honest, I am surprised there were not much lower scores.
I was a little bit surprised by this also, but it kind of reinforces what I've seen about Tour Pro versus Tournament, based on how I started out my Career mode (Tour Pro). I wasn't scoring proportionally better for the loss of the XP multiplier I was seeing as a result of not playing Tournament.
Before I had my double freeze on Sunday,
Speaking of freezing... I started seeing freezing after the patch was released when I'd boo the game up. I read somewhere that if you logged out of XBox Live before you launch Tiger Woods 13, it will allow you to boot up without freezing. I've been doing that since reading the post and have not had a freeze during boot-up since. Also, I don't know why I'm so fortunate in this sense, but I've only had the game freeze on me one time during actual gameplay.

I play the CC matches online with other teams. We do have an online DSP tournament going on with dailies and weeklies as well. Put yourself in the waiting list or head out to DSP 2, lots of fun for everyone involved.

Lancer, I'd recommend going to one of your favorite courses in the game, using the Play Now option and enable Mulligans. That's the way I got the feel of the swing interface. You'll need to get a feel for the 20 to 80 yard approach shots if you're playing tournament difficulty. I still have a hard time gauging the amount of swing to attain the desired distance, although I'm still improving at it.

Outside of 8 feet, I don't use the Total Swing Control putting interface. I take aim, run my targeting cursor out to 80 feet, and put the amount of proportional stroke I feel I need to hit to attain the desired distance. I call it Precision Putting Recovery Method putting... it's an attempt to recapture the feel of Tiger Woods 10's precision putting, which I still think is the best putting interface of the series. Tiger 13 isn't tuned for the way I'm using this and I'm sure that's why it's too touchy for me to use in putts of 8 feet, or less. Still, I have much more consistent results between 8 and 50 feet, using what I call PPRM.
BTW - on XB version, how do I access the DLC ?
Go to the XBL Games Marketplace, click on "Games" search by title. Under "T", you'll find Tiger Woods 13. Click on it and it will take you to all the Tiger 13 DLC. It will be under the "Extras" menu when you get to the game's main page.

To be clear though, you don't get anything free from the DLC. Everything you get with the CE edition of the game is currently on your disk. You'll have to pay for any further DLC you want with MS points. Or in game you can purchase individual courses using coins earned while playing the game.

Oh don't worry about that, I sure do not want to be apart of any league you're running anymore. Online gaming should be fun, not dictated by some control freak Uptight Admin like yourself.

Just look at this thread, you're already whining about how people are too good or too bad, you're already taking the fun out of the game. But that's your M.O. isn't it.

Thanks for the advice. I def need to practice. I didnt know you can turn off TSC for putting so I may try that. I do really like the challenge though. it is much more difficult on defaults than last years game.

Cool, thanks for the info. I think I need to practice offline first before jumping online. I got some buds who have another league going so I may just join that when I'm ready.

That's the best you have got?

Anyone from the Madden league want to comment on this reply? Or am I too much of a control freak and your scared.

Listen you can't even be bothered to read the simplest instructions. No one is that stupid or lazy so your "I'm too busy to be bothered to read so I'll ask stupid questions" has to be some kind of gimmick. I'm sure you and the other "buds" who hang out at the comic shop think it's funny but it's not.

But hey open invitation anyone who thinks I am a control freak step up and ask for control of the DSP Golf club no worries you can have it. Because being the control freak I am who, you know spends his spare time running leagues with his friends online so everyone can enjoy themselves is just too much for some.

Seriously can you really be this big of a dipshit? You have to be 14 right?

No worries here Dan. Thank you for being the Admin of DSP 1!! Would like to see this thread get back on topic though please.
