They haven't offered "use a licensed pro" as an option in the Dailies yet that I've seen. I checked it tonight after reading your post... no option there. I did make a change to the 23rd's Daily as an experiment to see how just dropping the difficulty back to Tour Pro affects the balance of scores. It's not full Tour Pro, as I turned the swing meter off and turned the grid on. Curious to see how that plays out...

I have never once said I am not in favor of giving this a try. Not sure I have read anywhere on here that someone was against trying this.

I think he just means everyone agree to use a Pro for the Daily. For example, we all agree to use Rickie Fowler today.

Oh, I see... yeah, that would work. I would be in favor of trying that to see how it works out.

Congratulations to OrthoStud23 for his DSP CC Weekly win at Liberty National this week. He pretty much lapped the field in this one. I feel water-logged and wind-chapped after this event, even though I played about as well as I can play. I never once reached the 18th in two. In fact, I was 50 yards short in the final round, but still managed a par.

Danimal, I'm seeing more and more of this "jump to the right" at impact that you described earlier when facing left to right winds of greater than 8 MPH, more and more often. I saw an abundance of them at Liberty this past week. I just started allowing an extra 5 to 10% more aim to the left to account for it when facing such shots after a while. I guess the net result of the wind effect is the same, but it would make more sense to me if I saw the ball making more of a bow to the right. I do see some bowing, but it looks like the immediate dart off the club is accounting for some of it.

You guys are seeing this darting right off the club face with flat lies??

Can't say I have seen it as described, but this could be related to the random landing code factored into Tournament mode difficulty.....I'll see if I can isolate it myself.

JC -

For tomorrows (Tuesdays Daily) can we try the following to see how it works out.

1. Set any course you want.
2. Turn Green Grids off but putt preview on. (Unless I am wrong you can only use the put preview line once a hole right?)
3. Every use Paul Casey to play their round tomorrow.

Lets just see how it works out. I'm not positive about number 2 because I never tried them before yesterday but they were enabled in a EA event but i could only pres it once a hole. I think if that is true with green grids off it might provide more challenge.

As for the DSP Cup see that thread for announcements.

Yes, it's not every time mind you, and it is more pronounced from lies with the ball below my feet, which is understandable. I don't consider it a gamebreaker in any sense, just a bit of an anomaly.

That's my best possible explanation for what I'm seeing. I think I would have less of a problem with it if the shot faded more than expected, rather than just taking a bit of a bee line off the club face (and bee line is exaggerating the effect... it's more just a perceptible deviation that doesn't quite fit what the feedback meter is showing). But yes, the random landing variable that is present in at least Tournament difficulty is likely the explanation. Pardon me if I'm rambling, just got home from my colonoscopy/endoscopy and I'm still under the lingering influence of some heavy drugs... kinda want'a listen to some Grateful Dead music right now  8)

Yes, let's do this and see what happens. I hadn't thought about turning grids off with putt preview on. Putt preview is once per hole, if I recall correctly. And Paul Casey it is...

Oh, FWIW... I'm not sure what I did to unlock it (gotta a lot of reading and catching up to do this week), but I saw that the bonus course (River Highlands) was available for my use so I downloaded it free of charge. Holy smoly! That might be my favorite course so far in Tiger 13 - it's drop dead gorgeous and is a great test of golf 8O I'd like to take a poll and see how many DSP'ers have this course in their library and set up a Daily there when we have a consensus.

Yes if this works the way I think it does then we may have found that middle ground. No green grids and you get one shot at hitting the putt preview button. If you guess right it's like real golf you read the line perfectly. More then likely you'll only get an indication of break and then you'll be guessing.

I might be wrong it might suck but I think this might be more realistic when it comes to putting.

BTW I never heard from the first person on the waiting list and Rob passed so Spooky is up next.

Spooky PM me for club info if you want in.

I have been trying to get access to the TPC River Highlands Bonus course ever since purchasing the 11 course pack for 360. There seems to be no official word from EA on how to obtain it. Lot's of speculation in the EA/TW message boards. However, the best info I found was in a post from The Guru at Operation Sports. The most important info from the thread is below. I hope to get it working tonight, although if it is true that you have to get Gold course mastery on one of the 11 DLC I am sunk.

http://www.operationsports.com/forums/g ... 360-a.html
TPC River Higlands DLC XBOX 360

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fellas,

If you purchased the 11 course pack.. TPC River Highlands was supposed to be a Bonus Course. I did but never found out how to get it... I figured it out last night...

Do Play Now... Select Course.. TPC River Highlands... It will prompt you with two options.. buy coins, or Unlimited ... Pick unlimited.. It will go to the purchase /download screen... Confirm download as it is free..

I did need to back out of Tiger to get off the EA Servers for the download to start.. it only took a few minutes....

If you did not get Doral, Wolf Creek, or Emerald very early... they are locked from download for some amount of time... These were Pre Order bonuses from specific retailers... I bought mine at GameStop and got Wolf Creek... You cannot download the others until EA decides the Preorder bonuses time are up.. then you can purchase them... Similar to Bethpage and Turnberry last year.....

Hope that helps get a few guys River Highlands.. It is supposed to be a good course, but I have yet to play it...

The Guru

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick update... The real requirement is 16 courses with unlimited play... If you got the Collector's Edition, then the 11 pack is all that is required... If you got the standard, then you would need to purchase/or earn 16 courses to get it...

Sounds right to me as some have stated they got the 11 pack and it did not open....
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, go to PLAY NOW in Game Modes... When you are selecting a course to play, go over to TPC River Highlands in the list... see if it lets you get it there... Every one is looking for this course in the Mastery List or in Downloads... Its not there... I found it in the PLAY NOW section by total accident....
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only other thing I can think of is have you mastered one of the DLC courses. Rumor was this was a requirement....

Other than that, Ive got nothing..

BTW... How did you download the CE stuff? I have a friend who can't find it for the life of him... This is on the xbox btw...

Yep, this course is fantastic....what a gem, especially as a bonus course. Now if EA could just allow everyone who is eligible for it to be able to download it and play it.....

I've had it for awhile now and I've got no clue what I did to open it up. I just know it was set as one of the XBL daily tournaments awhile back and when I entered to play the tournament it prompted me to DL it for free.

I got it too, and played the Live tourney yesterday. Boy, some of those hills you need more than a ladder and good luck getting out of a bunker.

I probably already know the answer to my question but I will ask it anyway.

Is it possible to setup Weekly CC tournaments to start on Monday and end on Sunday thereby giving more time to complete the 4 rounds?

Technically I could. I'd need to leave a day in between so they don't overlap but I honestly like the Thrs - Sunday format it's easier for me to run. You can play all your rounds at one time if you have to. I guess I could push it Thursday until Tuesday if that would help people but we seem to have a core group of 16-18 guys who play and about 2/3rd of those actually finish.

I haven't taken the time to see who is not finishing etc.

I'm getting in some of the daily's, but recently, I just haven't been able to complete the tourneys...in some cases, not even start them. I love the country club, but don't want to be a drag on it, if it comes down to it. I WANT to compete in the tourneys, but it's amazing how busy a man who has been unemployed for over a year can be with everything I have on my plate at the moment...lol.

Good -8 score considering the brutal windy conditions at the Ace Open Divot. Of course, I have no idea how to judge those 35mph+ wind conditions and I went for a swim a couple of times.

Bah, I was doing better at the PGA the first time when I was shooting -2 thru 10 holes when the game froze on me. Missed a couple of easy 3 footers the second time around to finish at +1 today.

I was under the mistaken impression that the tournament had to be played in a four day span, based on the way the weekly tournament setup menu defaulted. I saw today that it's a drop down menu beside "Days" and it brought up 5,6, and 7. I guess it's possible to stretch the four rounds out over as many as seven days?

When I set up the Dailies, I know that the current one ends at 7:00 PM, EDT, and the next one starts immediately, at 7:00 PM. If it works this way with the weeklies, they could be spaced out over seven days without having to worry about leaving an overlap. I can live with it either way, although I do see the DSP CC Weekly as THE marquee event of the club. The more folks we can accommodate the more significance it will have, IMO.

I know one thing, it sure would be easier and more informative for everyone if EA had really delivered on the 'ability to check your clubs tournament scores on the club's webpage pre-release information. If Microsoft could make such a feature doable on a previous gen console 9 years ago with Links 2004, why not with this gen?

While I normally try and play all 4 rounds of a weekly in one sitting - to get in a groove with the course - I think that extending it to a full week to complete the rounds is a great idea.
