Eric Wynalda is calling for an investigation in this video:
http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world- ... n-20404462
Sadly, an investigation will prove or solve nothing because FIFA -- which is even more corrupt and incompetent than this ref -- would conduct it.
Sepp Blatter investigating corruption is kind of like having a raging meth head lead the local "Say No To Drugs" chapter for kids.

Unfortunately, you are right about corruption with FIFA. Wynalda pretty much mirrors my thoughts on the matter. He makes a good point that when every free kick is followed by a US infraction when replays show no infractions then it has to be "preplanned" by the ref. That was what I was pointing to in a previous post. I smell a rat. I had forgot about the ridiculous time keeping in extra time that Wynalda addresses. That was really bizarre as well. This whole situation is unfortunate.pk500 wrote:Eric Wynalda is calling for an investigation in this video:

An England tie with Algeria would be a deluxe miracle. That would force England to play its balls off and hammer Slovenia next week.Naples39 wrote:I can definitely see that playing out. C'mon Engerland!ScoopBrady wrote:Still, if Englad wins out and the US wins Wednesday they'll advance.

Awful refereeing (but like Scoop said, didn't the whistle go before the ball went in) and yes there's a lot of hate for the U.S., but when you start talking about refereeing conspiracies then you start sounding a bit crazy.
Also, why would FIFA want the US eliminated so early? Wouldn't they want the US to do well? It's their dream that football would become mainstream in North America, if they didn't want the U.S. there they could just eliminate that 3rd CONCAF finals spot and give it to Europe or Asia.
Also, that elbow by Dempsey right at the start of the game could have been a straight red. If that idiot who officiated the Germany game this morning was there then the US would have been down to 10 men within a minute.
Not disputing that it was stupid officiating and I've been rooting for the US each game.

I don't think for a minute that FIFA had anything to do with today's dreadful reffing. I don't even think it is a conspiracy on any level. I think what we got was an extremely bad ref who was biased against the USA and took it upon himself to make numerous awful calls. Wynalda's points are all very valid.Macca00 wrote:Awful refereeing (but like Scoop said, didn't the whistle go before the ball went in) and yes there's a lot of hate for the U.S., but when you start talking about refereeing conspiracies then you start sounding a bit crazy.

Yeah, FIFA may want the US in it, but some mobster that just paid off the ref doesn't care how far they advance. It doesn't necessarily have to be a FIFA conspiracy.Macca00 wrote:Also, why would FIFA want the US eliminated so early? Wouldn't they want the US to do well? Read this description at SB Nation, made me laugh:
I've watched the replay 10 times, and the call is the second and most glaring disgrace of this match, a flaming dead donkey of a call thrown into the face of sane officiating, a crapulent fiction written by a temporarily insane arbiter obviously high on dangerous street pharmaceuticals, a blatant crime against logic, fairness, and the otherwise fine reputation of the sensible people of Mali and West Central Africa, an "artless theft" as the announcers put it, a smash-and-grab without even the courtesy of a ludicrously creative explanation, an alpaca out of nowhere, a pissant sportocrat's petty and miserable entry into the annals of soccer history, a permanent disinvitation to my extremely exclusive Christmas card list, and the man who finally united Tunisia and the United States in a unilateral agreement on one thing: that you suck, and suck forever, and should be allowed no supervision over anything more complex than an armwrestling match between quadruple amputees.

I see. Sorry, my misunderstanding.toonarmy wrote:

NOOOOOOOO! An Algeria-England draw would be primo deluxe for the U.S.!Macca00 wrote:I see. Sorry, my misunderstanding.toonarmy wrote:

Good god England are absolute shite. It's embarassing when they have so little depth up front that they're carrying Emile "donkey' Heskey in their starting lineup.Macca00 wrote:Sorry, my bad. 0-0 it is then, carry on lads!

Unless I'm missing something...Naples39 wrote:Well your wish has come true. I guess this means the US essentially controls their own destiny against Algeria?pk500 wrote: NOOOOOOOO! An Algeria-England draw would be primo deluxe for the U.S.!
If England and the US win against Algeria and Slovenia, they are both through.
Slovenia 4
Eng and US 2
Algeria 1.
You have to say that the US is atleast showing more in terms of offense than England at the moment. Slovenia can't be feeling too comfortable having to at least tie England to get through assuming the US wins.
On current England form I'm not sure Slovenia have much to fear from England. I remember Dave writing after the last world cup that those hammering Sven Goran Erickson might have pause to regret underestimating what he achieved with the players at his disposal.JRod wrote:Unless I'm missing something...Naples39 wrote:Well your wish has come true. Indeed. I feel at least a smidge of justice after the England-Algeria draw.Naples39 wrote:Well your wish has come true. I guess this means the US essentially controls their own destiny against Algeria?pk500 wrote: NOOOOOOOO! An Algeria-England draw would be primo deluxe for the U.S.!

What makes you think that? Algeria is the worst team in the group, and England couldn't puncture it.JRod wrote:All England needs is a W. They may look bad but even they can find a goal or two. They have too much quality to be overlooked against Slovenia.
The England camp must be in full panic mode right now. Can't wait to read the London tabs tomorrow morning.

Well they put one against the USA. One game doesn't change it all for England. It's foolish to write off England. I'm not claiming they'll win the entire tournament. But you have Slovenia coming off a massive tie where they were up 2-0. And england with their backs against the wall where they do not need any help to advance. A win and they are in.pk500 wrote:What makes you think that? Algeria is the worst team in the group, and England couldn't puncture it.JRod wrote:All England needs is a W.
