That's the one I linked to like 4 or 5 days ago...you shouldn't ignore my links or you'd have had plenty of time to get it at the $400 price.

I almost got a Samsung 30" HDTV(model TXR3079) today.

It was $915 at Sears.

Is that a good price for that tv?

Is the TV actually worth it?

I absolutely love mine. Its hefty, but once you get it where you want it, who cares lol! What a deal though, I got mine for CLOSE to that, but not that low.
So far I am VERY impressed with this set. Did not realize the DPMI cables were $100^

Just entered the world of HD with my modest 26" Panasonic. HOLY FREAKING SH*T MONKEYS. Even at that size, it's utterly transfixing.

Can't wait to hook up some games to it tomorrow. Thanks for the link DB!!!

No catch. You just have to be an AmEx card holder and be lucky enough to get through on the server when it's slammed at those specific times.

For $250 off of retail, at a time when you can't even buy the thing at retail, I'm sure this will sell out even quicker than the Plasma TV last week. The $5000 Range Rover is more like winning the lottery. With only 3 available and countless people clicking in at exactly the same time, it's pure luck if you get it. At least with the 360 they'll have 200 of them for each time during the day, so hopefully they'll last for more than 10 minutes before selling out.

Thanks jon,

I'll have to try for it, heck at that price, you'd be stupid not to. I really would have liked that Plasma TV though.

..and everyone wonders where all the 360's are going? :)

I don't know about that. It does say to allow 2-3 weeks for shipping.

Heck, they might not even have them yet and are getting their 600 for 11/15 like most other stores.

My Panasonic 26" looks great, but has some geometry problems with a slight curve to horizontal lines near the top and bottom of the screen, and slightly out of focus text near the sides (which comes up a lot with sports games). Over at avsforums, this seems to be a fairly common issue with this line of tv's. Apparently there's a service menu one can access, but I'll probably call a Panasonic tech to come do some tweaking, as on site service is covered in the warranty. All in all very happy though.

if you are watching NON-HD programs, as in you are watching regular cable OR satelite then your tv is probably set to the mode "JUST" All hdtvs have this feature and they call come them something diferent and they all work diferently. Basically what this does is make the picture look not so "stretched" Our tv does this buy making the center of the tv picture look somewhat normal while stretching the corners.

I am almost 99% sure this is what you are seeing. However, my tv as well as many tube tv's have geometry issues as you said. You will notice this on ESPN or the deuce with the sports ticker. It will be higher on one side (slightly) Allthough you can correct this in the tv menu (not service) it is not perfect and really seems to change from channel to chnnel. I just havent had the URGE to pay someone to correct it properly. Its a nice tv though I bet. I have the BIG brother. 34"s doesnt sound like much but it weighs SOOOOO MUCH!! I imagine yours isn't too light either.

Seminole... the problem I'm having is mostly with HD content. I'm familiar with the limitations of the JUST setting for standard cable, but things are a bit off with HD and 360, and that's my main concern. It's interesting... if I toggle between the picture pre-sets, Standard, Vivid, and Cinema, you can see the alignment change with each setting. Text is sharp everywhere with cinema settings, but if you up the brightness with vivid and even standard, text near the corners and edges goes a bit fuzzy. Somehow the brightness throws things off. Horizontal lines are a problem as well, like I said... curved at the top and bottom.

I'll just make an appointment with a technician. No reason not to take advantage of the warranty, and I do NOT want to have to drag the thing back to the store. I live in a fourth floor walk up, and even though it's the 26" model, it's not light.
