Yep, as I mentioned before, 1.4 changed it entirely. The bullet sponge stuff goes away with more accurate weapons, and it's always going to be a bit "grind-y" due to it being a "Ubisoft (TM) Open World Game"....where the entire map is littered with icons and collectible crap designed to be a time sink.

But when you find that "magic" combination of weapons that work for you, and you can mod the sh*t out of them with additional barrel, underbarrel, magazine, and optics mods to change the behavior, it really starts to open up.

It sort of bogs down (to me) in the mid-20s when soloing, while the missions get harder and your rewards still aren't so fast that you can tear through stuff like you could earlier, but it levels out near the end again.

It's absolutely worth $14, even if it has a horrible framerate on XBox One.

Rumor is that game update 1.5 comes to the Xbox on November 22nd. You'll need the season pass, or have to pay to play the new Survival mode. What I've seen of that mode, it looks like it will be worth it.

I haven't played The Division since late April, but it looks like now is the time to jump back in. Probably fire this up again this weekend.

The Division is climbing the ranks of surprising, unsung heroes of my all-time gaming collection. I bought this game used with almost zero expectations, as all I heard and read was b*tching before the 1.4 patch.

I can't compare pre-1.4 to post-1.4, as I only bought this a few weeks ago. But it's a GREAT game now. Love it.

The Division is not yet Dishonored, which blew me away as a surprise gem like almost no other game in my 35 years of this hobby. But it's climbing my all-time list.

I already committed to join up with the three guys I played through the story with this Wednesday. If they don't make it I'll look for you guys.

This is a really good write up of survival mode. I got this for the PC version, no plans on getting it for XB1 unless we get a good regular group. It is fantastic fun in PVE, reminds me a lot of Left for Dead 1 except with a lot more tension.

I'm glad you linked that. All I had read was "if you told me Survival was hours of grinding and waiting to die, I'd have skipped out", when I was excited about its potential at first.

I never tried it, and it's possible I simply read some internet trolls doing their thing.

I'll have to give it a shot.

I'm enjoying it, like I said I get a L4D vibe from it and those two games are in my top 10 of all time for great online memories.
