Three more Gerrards and they may have stole it. The last 10 mins made the rest of the game even more of an embarrassment.
Seriously this is worse than when the Hodge face rub was in full effect.

At one point they were last in their group and tonight was a must win for them as Nasri's bomb took care of Roma. City manages to advance in their group while Messi, Neymar and Suarez were just too much for PSG.

You think Balotelli will ever score a Premier League goal. Where does he need the ball to be?

Sterling with great chances could not find the target either

Like the pundits where saying yesterday it doesnt matter what happens in the middle of the park its the 18yrd boxes where it counts. The difference was a Striker /finisher. Giroud was that for Arsenal.
Then finally he puts on Lambert but where is lambert when it counts ? out wide or out of the danger area, i dont get it, if your a centre forward subbed on the last 10 mins you dont leave the penalty spot.

All in all a much better performance but we need a Finisher and another centre back although Torre has been great considering and Skrtel while he does make some mistakes is still our best back and right up there with most centre backs at both ends , as he showed in the time he recouped while they put the state of the art headgear on him

Thats why its the beautiful game. :D

To dare is to DO! Spurs applied their Moto to perfection today. Kane and Chadli were outstanding, they had good control of the ball, played their system and did not change it to a defensive scheme even when they were up 4-1. Funny seeing Cahill and Terry being exposed as they were, great game by Pochettino's side.

Chelsea were flat tired. Mourinho, for all his geniusness, didn't rotate a lick over the holiday period and today's result was the product. Maybe it's worth it to get hammered once, but it's something worth considering by critics who get on managers for turning over the side for fitness reasons.

He's definitely been a square peg in a round-holed system, but he's been no trouble. His suspension by the FA was positively ludicrous and totally indefensible. He's worked hard for the team for the most part. If anything he's been less effective because he's trying to do things that are outside his skill set. He drops so deep and presses so much that he's not on the back shoulder of the center-halves where he belongs.

I'd be thrilled to be rid of him. He hasn't been effective. But I have no hard feelings and he's been a good citizen and a pro.

I like how week after week the ball keeps finding Lucas in scoring positions. He will never score again. He was born to be an Ice dragon.

Lambert was nice though.

That ref from the Chelsea-Liverpool tie today should never see a pitch again in his life. He missed three enormous, game-changing plays: twice Costa went all Suh and stomped on a player and the obvious Skrtel penalty on Costa. On top of those howlers, he should've sent off Henderson for his second yellow for the handball in the second half, should've booked Lucas for the challenge that led to the FK and game-winning goal. Those are just the felonies. He got about 2 dozen misdemeanors wrong as well. Just awful.

You can't even play the game of advantage here in retrospect, because the cataclysmic thoroughness of his ineptitude touched every single aspect of what was otherwise a wildly entertaining football match.

The players on both teams deserved so much better than that for their efforts.

Fair assessment. I would add that Costa should be at least fined for his accidentally on purpose behaviour, hey if Jaws Suarez gets his suspensions, there should be something for Stomping. I would add that both goalies were superb, particularly Mignolet in today's feisty affair. I think Mourinho was so busy bitching that he missed the goal.
