Count me as one of the minority that liked the vision cone. It was flawed, but it's the only time in videogame history that any developer tried to make the mental aspect playing quarterback affect human-controlled teams. Any type of awareness trait in a QB has always been pretty meaningless when a human player controls a QB.
I have some friends that still joke about the 'vision cone' when we play online. That was the only version of Madden I've ever skipped. I rented it for a week & that was that.

I liked it too. When it was working as intended it made me feel like I was playing quarterback. When it didn't it was frustrating.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.
Aside from actually playing the game to see how it plays, the total package looks quite impressive to me.
The problem I'm always faced with is I don't have time for two football games, so it's either NCAA or Madden. I already purchased NCAA because 11 was so great, but since there are issues with 12 and I'm waiting on a patch, I have been thinking this could be the year of Madden for me.
I haven't played more than a handful of Madden games in years.
Frustrating watching a guy play on Pro and look at how the AI covers receivers and throws the football. It was alarming to see such great rushing defense for a few snaps there in Pro, though.
I agree that it looks very promising. But I wish we could see some All-Pro gameplay, because trying to judge what I'm watching on Pro is almost impossible.

Yeah, I was glad he mentioned it while he was playing. The game does have some excellent presentation though, so I'm really hoping gameplay and franchise have been given the same, if not more, attention this year.
With the lockout, the focus will be on this year's Madden for sure.

I'm really pulling for this game to be half way decent. I don't think it can be as broken as 11 so only way is up.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. I love the tv style camera presentation. I'm hoping there are a ton of statistical overlays, something that isn't very present in NCAA Football. The broadcast unfortunately doesn't seem that much improved, but maybe they added a few more lines and it flows better. Graphically, it looks really nice.
Wasn't too impressed with the streaming demonstration thingy yesterday. Think a lot of it had to do with the way the presenters were playing it (bad). Those who've played it said EA hasn't really done a good job presenting it so far.
Was kind of convinced that this would be Madden's year over NCAA but not so sure anymore, especially after the positive response to NCAA.
Well I'm obviously not happy Online Franchise was not touched again. EA basically built this thing called Communities. I've know about them for a while and frankly I don't get them at all. I have a friends list, it works. However if you're into one off online games you could create a DSP community and have leader boards etc. It's basically Halo matchmaking in Madden or a better friends list. Frankly useless to me.
They removed the defensive camera from OTP, probably the best part of OTP due to an "outcry" of user feedback. I don't recall anyone complaining about this. If the game plays like NCAA on the field I'll be happy, an improved Offline franchise is nice as well but I'm just astonished this new feature can have sliders online but 3 years later OF doesn't.

Just preordered Madden for $6.96 I had some money on a card from several trade ins so I pulled the trigger. I skipped Madden last year but after reading up on what is coming this year I figured i would give it a go. Hey, $7 too.
