This USA hockey team has been very sloppy in the two wins. They have two days to straighten this out otherwise Sunday is going to be ugly. You give Canada that many odd man looks down the ice and Miller's gonna end up with the proverbial back of the neck sunburn from the lamp being lit over and over again.

The final score did not reflect what happened on the ice.
Last Olympic in Turin, the Swiss upset team Canada 2-0. That team was old and run into a hot Gerber. I expect a different result tonight, the Swiss team is not a walk in the park.
It's 1-0 Team Canada after one. The Swiss team loves to trap the neutral zone and they're forechecking hard. Team Canada needs to be more physical against these guys, the Swiss don't have the same talent as the hosts team but they work very hard. One thing for sure it won't end up 8-0. Doughty and Seabrook showed some of their immaturity coughing the puck a couple of times but Marty Brodeur is sharp so far. So is J. Hiller for that matter.
Canada will not be winning this tourney playing like its the 4th game of the NHL season..Lazy meatheaded dinosaurs like Pronger should be watching these games on TV.
Heatly seems to be the only one with the right idea. Forget the fancy dan bullshit and shoot the damn puck.

Yup worst offender for not shooting has been Crosby.
Hope babcock reads them the riot act.
Best wishes,

Well, the game is going to OT and under IHF rules, the Swiss is costing team Canada already a point. The Swiss team is being the physical team here and not Canada. Guys like Pronger and Niedermayer seemed to have lost a step. Especially boneheads mistakes by the Philly player.
I rather play with an inexperience D. Doughty than C. Pronger at this point. The Swiss remind me a lot of a Minnesota team coached by J. Lemaire. They crave games that are just 1-0, 2-0, clog the neutral zone and pound on your mistakes. Sure they tying goal was a fluke but they worked hard at it.
Canada needs to be more physical and cut down on the cute plays. A tournament this short won't forgive you for your mistakes and right now the Swiss team is riding on a hot J. Hiller. He's been amazing, just like last year's playoff when he stoned the Sharks.
Team Canada did not play well. They had lots of chances but could not convert them. Partly because of the great play by J. Hiller and also for being too cutesy with their plays. Too many damn passes instead of shooting the biscuit more. The D was weak tonight. Guys don't seem to know where their partners are with the exception of the Seabrook-Keith pair. Pronger needs to go because a speedy USA team will just roll over him before he knows what hit him.
I don't like the idea of a SO to decide a game, especially in a short tournament like the Olympics, let the guys grind it out to the end. Coach Babcock will have a couple of days to work with this team, they have to play more Canadian style, go to the dirty corners, grind it out, hit people.
Skills alone won't win it for you, and this was a good wake up call. They have to play better on Sunday.
Good for the Swiss to fight that hard especially considering the zebra's did all they could to help the host team. 7 penalties on the Swiss and 1 on Canada? Including them not calling a clear hit from behind on a Swiss kid right in front of the Canadian net with around 5:00 to go and then they call an absolutely pathetic ticky tack hook at the 3:00 mark because Sid the Kid can't one time a bouncing puck.
Having said that, i agree with 10s that this may just be what Canada needed to wake up the rest of the way. I think we see a different team on Sunday.
I thought Slovakia deserved better luck last night against the Czechs. Playing back to back games tonight with the Russians, they carried most of the play as Ovechkin's team is struggling to score with all the talent they have. Like team Canada they've been struggling in the PP department.
P. Demitra and M. Hossa have been dangerous all night long for the Slovaks. Another close game that may go into OT.
Another SO, as Canucks' P. Demitra scores the winning goal for the Slovacks. The Russians need to step it up another notch over the weekend, because many of them just failed to show up. Hello, paging E. Malkin. Gritty win by Slovakia, they stuck to their gameplan and carried the play most if the night. Z. Palffy could still play in the NHL if he wanted to and their D led by Z. Chara just controlled Ovie's line. Big win, along the Czechs they can surprise anyone and as I posted earlier they're a legitimate dark horse.
