Not really the same at all. In Quantum Leap, Sam Beckett actually became someone different in the past... even a woman on occasion. In Journeyman, he's just the same person simply time traveling. The only similiarity is that he jumps back home in Journeyman when his task is done. In Quantum Leap, as soon as he was done, he lept into a new time/place/person.TheGamer wrote:I like Journeyman, but could it be a more blatant ripoff of Quantum Leap? Same premise except that the primary character gets to come back home.

Yes, Dr. Sam Beckett (played by Scott Bakula) was the main character in Quantum Leap.wco81 wrote:The character's name was Sam Beckett?

same general premise, go back through time to help someone in the past. same concept, just different ways of executing the premise. Once again I like Journeyman and Quantum Leap, just Journeyman is an entirely new idea. Both shows are NBC shows so I'm sure they just felt it was time to try this premise again.jondiehl wrote:Not really the same at all. My favorite new shows are:
Chuck - Nice mix of comedy and drama. Not sure how much legs the show has, but the first two episodes have been good.
Journeyman - I think this might be my favorite new show. I loved this guy in Rome and it's great to see him in a prime time series. I love the premise of the show and I loved how he proved to his wife that he was really time traveling. Like someone else said, it may not last because it does make you think, but I really enjoy it.
K'ville- Really like this show. Always been a Anthony Anderson fan and I kind of dig Cole Hauser, too.
Californication - David Duchoveny is great in this show. Another fine series from Showtime.
Tell Me You Love Me - Great new HBO series following the relationships of 5 couples. It took me an episode or two to really get into it, but now I am hooked. Don't let the title fool you either, it's not a Sex In the City remake. I'm probably the only one here that will admit to watching it. If it was a network show, I probably wouldn't bother, but the freedom that the writers have on HBO makes the show work very well.
A few others have impressed me, especially the new Kelsey Grammar show.
I'm also still digging Heroes, Friday Night Lights, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and eagerly await the return of Lost as well.
