I played the demo at least twenty times this past weekend, and I really like what I've seen so far. It's obviously hard to get a good feel for the game playing an incomplete demo with 1 minute quarters, but I can definitely tell the gameplay is much improved over Madden 360. I spent whole games just running the same plays over and over, for instance only running screen plays one game and then only running option plays another game. The running game is much improved over Madden, especially in terms of line play and in the control of your back. It really is nice to see your linemen pulling and actually picking up defenders, especially on screen passes. I no longer feel out of control of my player when running towards the sidelines, where in Madden last year it seemed the animations really took you out of the play, especially when throwing out routes to the short side of the field. I've also enjoyed rolling out with my qb and watching how it takes a second for him to square his body before throwing the pass, it looks very natural and should make it harder to just fling the ball downfield with accuracy when running for your life. The lack of named rosters when playing online does definitely suck, but as long as the game plays well I can live without them. I can't wait to play the final version tomorrow, the pics I have seen of the newly remodeled Kinnick Stadium look fantastic, and I can even see the building I work in in the background.

No help from that OS thread, unfortunately. If one of you guys gets the 360 verison tomorrow and can turn off the pre-snap "button bar," please post and let me know how. I keep thinking it should be the "help ticker" option in the User Settings, but changing that from "yes" to "no" isn't doing anything. There are so few display options to set that I can't imagine anything else it could be. Thanks.

Somebody e-mailed me with the answer. It's very roundabout, but it works. Just remap any of the pre-snap buttons that are shown in the bar. I guess the program then realizes that the bar is inaccurate and no longer displays it. Strange but it works, and it's a big improvement.

Havent gamed hardly at all in 2006. Have only purchased 1 game in 2006 prior to now. Truthfully, Ive had little desire to game. Today I got to play the demo and liked it.

I like what Ive been reading here and at OS so tonight I made the plunge and bought a 360. I'll pick up this game tomorrow. I certainly havent been this excited to game in a long time. Too bad theres no high speed internet in my area as Ive yet to meet up with you guys on Live. Oh well.

The highlights include the following (Thanks to tinman who wrote it)

On defense:

Push up on the right stick immediately after the snap to commit your defense to the pass. Pushing down commits your team to the run.

Pushing the B button does cycle players before snap, but pushing B and also pushing in a direction on the left stick will select the player you are pushing towards (a la NFL 2k)

Offense

To send a guy in motion or hot route, the manual says to push B to cycle through your receivers. This works, but if you want to send the receiver on the right side of the field in motion, you usually have to push B 4 or 5 times, wasting valuable seconds. Instead, hold B and push to the the left stick in the direction of where your receiver is and it will go there a whole lot faster.

For those that have played the final version...

How is the CPU completion %? The downfall of a lot of EA football games is the CPU making dumb reads, resulting in a lot of 10/26, 3 int games for the AI.

DT has a dubious reputation. supposedly he stole Blacklover's and FK's rosters from a few years back and sold them as his own. But I think it says a lot for him to have his out before anyone else, Noone can say that he stole these.

this is from operation sports on how to download and transfer the rosters:

Here this is how I do it, just try to run through that step by step and see if it works:

1. download file to CPU
2. open the program "XChange 360"
3. Back up MU (Memory Unit) to CPU hardrive.
4. unzip file to "X360 Memcard Images" (when you backup your MU to your CPU hardrive the program will automatically make this folder in your "My Documents folder" on your CPU).
5. go to the the blue "Hard Drive Blade" in "XChange 360"
6. click on file to be transferred to memory card.
7. click "to mem" icon
8. once finished on your 360 you must copy or move the file in your dashboard from your MU to the Hardrive on your 360.
9. you are finished

Zep and GW - Seems like FK roster set is delayed, how long I do not know. Iam planning on waiting, but if you guys are in a rush there is a roster set by some DT guy, although posts on OS say he has tinkered with the ratings and it disables achievements or something.

I don't know anything about roster makers but I have heard of FK, so I am waiting. Also I got the memory cards for $30 instead of $40.
