So Far
8 Tuesday
4 Friday
4 outstanding votes not counting myself.
We're doing the FA stuff after the rookie draft per Terry's suggestions
You can draft from the web site but I hear it is wonky.
The game is suppose to use your draft board.

Well, he had said they released the FAs before the rookie draft, and did the FA draft after the rookie draft, so that's why I think people are wondering. Either way works for me, but now we know we are releasing our FAs after the rookie draft.Danimal wrote: We're doing the FA stuff after the rookie draft per Terry's suggestions
How do you want to do the FA draft? Regular draft order, or the reverse-snake order mentioned by Terry? And where? In the FA thread here?

I missed that, I haven't done this before so I am hoping that while drafting you don't have to release people to clear roster space.Zeppo wrote:Well, he had said they released the FAs before the rookie draft, and did the FA draft after the rookie draft, so that's why I think people are wondering. We'll do the rookie draft and then see what happens, I don't think it is fair to ask everyone to release their players by tonight.

If you don't have room for your drafted player, he's placed into the FA pool automatically. I'd highly suggest people make sure they have enough roster space prior to the draft. I'd personally make the cuts before hand to clear some room. Either that or write down your draftees so that you can cut players and sign them immediately afterward.
Does anyone know what the roster limit is. . .I thought it might be 53, but I noticed that I have 55 guys right now. . .I guess what I am thinking is folks may need to make their FA Draft cuts and additional cuts as to not lose any draft picks. . .TCrouch wrote:If you don't have room for your drafted player, he's placed into the FA pool automatically. Sigh
Well obviously I was unprepared, I didn't know you needed room I would assume you would just need to cut down before the season started.
With this new information we're going to move the draft until sometime next week, we'll use this week to release FA's.
Now something to keep in mind I discovered as I was trying to reclaim my guy off of IR. The game will let me cut people but won't let me add anyone right now. Trying to do so results in an error, so even if we wanted to I don't think we could do the full FA draft right now.
So see the next post for instructions

I know I'd appreciate that. I could make next Tuesday way easier than I can tomorrow night. I'd rather do the FA cuts before the draft anyway because that way you know if there's any free agents you want to sign before the draft. If I can take care of a position through free agency I don't need to waste a draft pick.XXXIV wrote:So we do have to cut then...
Not for me as I can do it all any day but for everyone else a draft next week?...Just a thought.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

First I am sorry for all the issues with this draft, my fault for thinking EA would make this easy. I'd like to get this done quick and get back to playing but no reason to rush and screw it up, just so no one misses this:
NO DRAFT TOMORROW NIGHT - MOVED TO TUESDAY 24TH
So here we go:
Schedule / Rules
1. Release your FA's by Friday. See the rules below, you can release more then listed below but it is the minimum. Also post all releases in the FA thread and put their overall rating As I will create a spreadsheet of the name of release players. Also you need to physically release them in game
2. We'll do a Rookie Draft next on Tuesday 24th 8pm CT this gives you a week to clear your schedule. During the draft you need to record whom you drafted in case of the issue Terry posted.
3. We'll do the 4 round FA draft, in a snake order (whether this is live or via a list you send me or thread is to be determined)
4. We'll clear up any out standing draft picks in the FA pool.
5. We'll start are open FA bidding process.
Rules for FA draft from first post in this thread:
CONTRACTS / FREE AGENT DRAFT - UPDATED
There is no idea of contracts, hold outs etc. We're going to keep this one pretty simple. Before moving to the next seasons draft we will hold an ad hoc Free Agent Draft.
Each team will be required to released to Free Agency 4 players. They need to be rated as follows.
1 player rated 80 or higher overall. (i.e. a player rate 80 counts)
1 Player rated 70 or higher overall.
2 Players rated 65 or higher overall.
These are the minimums if you want to release 1 guy who is an 84 and then 3 players at 76, 79 and 82 that's up to you. If for some reason you can't meet the minimums then God your team sucks, but you have to do your best to meet them. I won't even give an example because it shouldn't occur.
