Add my name to the Sawgrass #17 victim list... I came to the hole at -6, having played holes 9 through 17 at 7 under par. I tried to play a knockdown pitching wedge into the 16 MPH, right to left quartering headwind... I knocked it down alright - right into vasser :x I then wen't long on my drop area shot and left a 62 foot putt for bogey. I wound up 3-putting from there and walked away with a triple :( It was all on me though.

This was a bizarre round for me. I was one over par coming to the 9th hole. I couldn't make a putt to save my life. Then, for the first time in my Tiger Woods current-gen career, I reached the par 5, 9th in 2. I rolled a 48 foot eagle putt. It completely turned my attitude around... until the 17th. Still, that's the beauty of this game 8)

BTW, HOGZ just did to Sawgrass what he did to St. Andrews last week... a 12 under par 60! I'd say only our rising phenom, Teal has a shot at him now :)

JC, that's exactly what I love about this game. I'm not guaranteed to shoot below par every round as witnessed by play at Sawgrass this morning.

DSP CC Daily for 4/18/12 - 4/19/12

Royal Country Down - Live weather w/gusts, Tournament speed, Easy 3 pins, long rough.

I'll be hanging out in the DSP CC club lobby beginning sometime between 8 and 9 PM tonight. Hopefully, we can get some 9-hole match play action going tonight, and make some headway towards knocking out our club achievement goal of 25, head to head club matches. Not sure what that would actually get for the club in terms of status, but it will definitely be a lot of fun.

I'm right there with you on this thought Wilk. I wouldn't be nearly as intrigued with this game if it didn't sneak up and bite me as it does. To the game's credit, most of its difficulty doesn't feel contrived and that will keep it fresh for a long time to come. I realize that it is possible to set up a course and conditions that would feel contrived and that's something I try to avoid in creating the Dailies for the club.

I will try to be there after the Hockey game which will probably end around 10PM PST, feel free to send the invite. Thanks for setting up the dailies.

Draws..... yes, I do a pretty good job at hitting them now. Only 1 every say, 20 is far enough off the line that it goes wayyyyyy right.

Fades..... well..... let's just say 1 in 20 goes where I want. For some reason, I just find fades really hard.......

Trying to hit a draw or fade successfully melts my brain. I just play it straight, which is probably why I suck.

I hit draws and fades primarily into L-R or R-L winds and hit it straight in the swing meter and that is about all the draw and fade I typically need. If I need more, I just club down and take a longer shot.

I know I had my best daily yet as I finished -7. Missed a few birdies by a hair and had only one bogey and an eagle. The wind was manageable and I am pretty sure the top guys will have a ridiculous score on ths course.

Might not make this one. Had a long day and might hit the rack early tonight after the Flyers game.

Great score Ortho...I doubt I can pull off a -13 much less a -16.....but HOGZ....I am betting he can. I did have a couple of really good rounds today on Live Tournaments. Played a Custom difficulty one at the Els course in Tournament mode and the leader was -12. Started my round with a bogey (as usual), then proceeded to make a birdie on 18 to for the lead. Calm conditions....good scoring course in those conditions and I got pretty lucky on a few holes with some really long putts.

Had another round today at Waiailae in the Live Tournaments and started out -8 through 9 with the leader at -13, but could not make an approach shot or putt to save my life. Turned it around on the last few holes and eagled the final hole to get to -11 in Gusty conditions.

After my disaster in our daily at Sawgrass, I was pretty happy about the other two rounds....

-9 for me on the daily, which is my best round yet in this game on any course. I eagled 2 with an 8-iron from the fairway, and I was -7 after 8 holes. Got inconsistent after that though.

I'm getting worse. Shot a +4 in today's daily. Missed at least 4 easy birdies and just played a poor round.

Had a -2 going into 18, hit one of those awful greenside bunkers, and wound up double-freaking-bogeying the hole.

But shoot, I'll take even par anyday.

Ok I've been meaning to ask this but does anyone notice or feel like when the wind is left to right it is broken?

When I am hitting into a right to left cross wind I see a natural ball flight in the wind. When I hit in a left to right the ball immediately goes right off the club even though my path is perfectly straight. It's amazing to me how offline the wind pushes the ball and kills the distance and not the other way around.

Also why doesn't Tiger support drops on balls in the water. Tonight I hit a ball that hit the flag stick shot left inot the water. I had to rehit from 250 out. Am I missing something to take a drop?

Course tore me a new one, but I never play well at 4:30 AM and DEFINITELY do not play this game if you are in a hurry as I was also packing for a vacation trip to Napa. Congrats to Ortho and MERACE for excellent rounds at -13 and -11 respectively (at the time of this writing)....

Have a great weekend Fellas....going to sip (gulp) some wine in Napa then hit some seafood in San Francisco this weekend...

You guys give me too much credit. I may be in the top 5 here but Divot and Ortho are more consistent/better than me. I just happen to have a couple rounds where my putts where dropping. Now on to the daily…

Was I playing the same course as you guys! I had one of my worst rounds yet! Started off terrible. Couldn't hit the ball straight at all, which then I think rattled me and hurt my putting game. Went double and triple bogey thru the first two holes!! +5 in the hole - not the way to start.

Managed to calm down a little and had a few birdies and then for the highlight of my round, eagled the par 4 9th on just pure luck. My swing was again off to the right a little, but the wind and lie I had, plus a great bounce steered me into the hole. So I was back to E at the turn. I fought my swing and the wind the rest of the way and managed to birdie the 18th to finish E. Was 57% FIR and 66% GIR …yuck.

Just an awesome round Orhto and Merace! She giveth and taketh away!

I'm in a big funk as of late, plus I'm not playing nearly as much. Just another great sign with this game in that if you slack off a bit in the amount of play you're going to get a little rusty. Great rounds and a tip of the cap to those atop the leaderboard.

Finally get to a course/conditions that I can score under par and everyone else STILL destroys me. LOL. Oh well...guess my competition each week is just PAR, not you guys. Ugh.

First of all, great thread. I've never completely read a thread till this one. It's nice to see how everyone's has progressed, so I knows there's hope for my CAG who's top attribute is 41 in driving.

My first time playing on Tournament settings is proving to be difficult but not impossible. I've made some shots that I just wasn't sure what happened but thrilled with the result, then there are times that I thought hit it right and was just as wrong as the day is long, having said that every time I play I get that one more time feeling.

I've been mostly playing my career, but I've decided to go spend some time at AN practice facility. With my work schedule I may never achieve the scores of the DSP OCC but it'll be fun trying!!

Although I haven't had my AHA! moment if I keep playing it will eventually reveal itself.

I don't remember who's in charge of DSP II, but could you send me an invite or tell me what to do to gain membership? I'm nothing special but am looking to get better and get some online rounds in. Thanks for reading, sorry for the length of this post.

Played 2 rounds pf the weekly talk about a course the seems easy but can bite you in the ass.

Was -1 on the first round just couldn't do much. Then I went into the second round and was -6 at the turn and ended up giving it all back thanks to some of the worst breaks ever. I hit a ball into a green that hit the flag stick and went into the water. Also on that par 5 with the second shot over water I went for it and pulled it hit the cart path and went out of bounds. I ended up Even for the round.

Oh well still enjoying the challenge.

A bit of truth to that. With no travels this week, I managed to squeeze a couple hours every day and my putting has improved a notch. With two, three days not touching the game I just seem to lose all momentum and feel like I have to re-learn the game.

Danimal, there's a spot available in our CC.
