Anyway...A more serious pick than the last one.

Yeah, like the Miami game.Lancer wrote:Usually in the SB, the NFL will give the Steelers all the calls that they stole from them in the regular season and playoffs.
They played 6 playoff games, only had 3 losing seasons (the worst being a 5 win season so its not like they were the league's doormat), and mid-decade made a trip to the AFC Championship game and were a John Elway drive away from going to a second. I absolutely love the fact the standard is so high for this team that this is considered not competing because I have to admit that I'd be disappointed if the next 10 years were that poor.Brando70 wrote:The thing is, though, they are a well-run organization. The 80s were somewhat of a down time for them, but they still went to the playoffs four times between 1980-89wco81 wrote:Steelers are the NFL's fair-haired boys. Lets see if any scores are called back against the Packers.
When they couldn't compete in the '80s, they lobbied for the salary cap and parity.
When Harrison got fined for his head-hunting ways, he got the grievance hearing nobody else would have gotten.
Yeah royalty has its privileges doesn't it?
I'm trying to think of a fan base that has won multiple championships that isn't a bunch of arrogant pricks. Yankee fans who almost constantly refer to their team as the twenty-something time champs? Laker or Celtics fans? We've already covered the Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers, and Patriots. Duke fans? SEC football fans? I can't really comment on hockey because I've never met a person in real life that wasn't a Flyers, Penguins, Capitals, or Sabres fan. There were millions of Bulls fans running around here in the Jordan era that couldn't even locate Chicago on a map and who didn't hate them?pk500 wrote:You must put Patriots' fans in that group, too. Arrogant c*cksuckers.Brando70 wrote:However, their fans are quickly setting the standard for smug obnoxiousness, much like Niner fans in the 80s and early 90s. They still have a ways to go before they catch Cowboy fans, however.
Dude. Dont let em fool ya with that holier than thou CRAP! ........There hypocracy runs deep.....Bear fans are some pretty big full of s*** assholes themselves. NO BIGGER can or will be found.Leebo33 wrote:I'm trying to think of a fan base that has won multiple championships that isn't a bunch of arrogant pricks. True that!Brando70 wrote:Pretty much any team that's won a Super Bowl has a large number of asshole fans. I am a huge Bears fan and yet have many of my own kind who I cannot stand.
The only good thing about the Steelers being in the Super Bowl *AGAIN* is at least I have a team to root for... GO PACKERS!!!!GTHobbes wrote:What fun is sports if you can't talk smack to fans of other teams? Even in the rare bad Steeler years, it's still a successful season if we beat the Browns twice and I can give s*** to the couple of Browns fans I've known since forever.
I now view sports as nothing more than entertainment. Whenever someone talks smack or said yeah "we won !", it reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where he says "no they won and you watched".lexbur wrote:The only good thing about the Steelers being in the Super Bowl *AGAIN* is at least I have a team to root for... Thanks for the diagnosis, Dr. Nick. I hope Roethlisberger gets dry humped to completion by Mendenhall again.GTHobbes wrote:Video of Jay Cutler walking around LA shopping with his girlfriend yesterday -- sure looks like he's in a lot of pain, eh?

Cutler did show pretty good side-to-side movement in getting out of the way of those 2 ladies with the baby carriages halfway through the video...LoL.Brando70 wrote:Thanks for the diagnosis, Dr. Nick.GTHobbes wrote:Video of Jay Cutler walking around LA shopping with his girlfriend yesterday -- sure looks like he's in a lot of pain, eh?

Cutler must have went to the same doctor LeBron went to with his mysterious elbow injury during the playoffs last spring. Apparently the guy does good work. Talk about non-invasive.GTHobbes wrote:Cutler did show pretty good side-to-side movement in getting out of the way of those 2 ladies with the baby carriages halfway through the video...LoL.Brando70 wrote:Thanks for the diagnosis, Dr. Nick.GTHobbes wrote:Video of Jay Cutler walking around LA shopping with his girlfriend yesterday -- sure looks like he's in a lot of pain, eh?

Just having some fun with you Bears fans, Scoop. But if it was me, after creating a national ruckus just a couple of days before, I probably would've chosen to lay low at home instead of putting myself in position to be videotaped by TMZ while out shopping with the girlfriend 3 days later. He's walking, not participating in a damn triathlon.GTHobbes wrote:Just having some fun with you Bears fans, Scoop. Crap what timing for the Dolphins and he was on their radar.ScoopBrady wrote:Jeff Fisher and Titans parting ways. Kind of surprising so late.
Whether he returns as a head coach or becomes an assistant coach, he'll be snatched shortly.Rodster wrote:Crap what timing for the Dolphins and he was on their radar.ScoopBrady wrote:Jeff Fisher and Titans parting ways. Kind of surprising so late.
