We have Sawgrass going, too. I'd have to check the settings, bit I believe they are tournament course conditions, medium-2 pins and medium rough.

I'm two rounds in with a -2 and +3. I was in kind of hurry and just butchered the first nine holes, and was +6. I three-putted a potential eagle and just had a string of bogies. I settled down and had a nice back nine. I was +8 at one point on the front nine

I didn't get the swing meter, so I just stopped paying attention to the gauges, and I think only now do I fully understand. The top meter is swing pace, which varies based on club and shot distance. The bottom is swing length, which also varies. Swing length is not how far you pull back the stick, but how long you hold the stick back as your avatar goes through his swing motion.

You want the meters to fill halfway, at which point they will be green. They fill too much, they turn red, too little, blue.

I was confused because 1) you can still hit full power shots with severe underswing, and 2) I kept getting good distance even with slow tempo. I now know that my tempo is actually very good, as my meter is blue and it says "slow", but it's damn close to halfway. The range for perfect/green on expert is very small. But your shot still turns out fine.

So...... it was the best of times, it was the worst of times......

The highlight of my round was hitting an eagle from the fringe on a 40ish foot putt on er, 12? I can't remember.... a shortish par 5.

Only to get a bogey on the next hole. That seemed to be my theme. every birdie was followed by a bogey, so I made no headway.

I was +3 I think until I hit 17. where i put 2 in the water. Argh.

While I have become pretty good at hitting draws, I cannot hit a fade for the life of me. I either just pull it way left, or end up hitting it wayyyyy short of where the mark says I should be?

The only thing I can think of is that the fades go higher, so I guess they get caught up in any wind more, hence my short shots (sometimes by a big amount)

Oh well, some day i'll have a complete round. (I say this in real golf too!)

I avoided the water on the 17th at Sawgrass but then a long birdie putt turned into a bogey that dropped me to -2 and that is where I finished, did get as low as -4 through the first 14 holes though before two late round bogeys.

I put it in the drink on 17. Ugh. Plus my blade was awful. Think I shot around +4.

HOGZ,

Great round at -12.....I had a shot at trying to catch you making the turn at -6, but a double bogey on 13 and a NINE on the 17th after putting 3 in the water pretty much sealed my doom. Add to that a drive in the water on 18....hit my second in the rough and hit my approach within a foot to salvage a bogey and an E par round....UGLY. Nice going to you and all who participated!

I will miss the Weekly as I am leaving for Napa tomorrow on vacation getting back Sunday night late. GL to you all in the Weekly!

I had a shot at a really good score that I gakked away this round too. I was -9 going into 13, I think, when I took a bath. Managed to recover to a bogey, at least, but after a par round, hit back to back double bogeys as I totally lost it on the greens. Plunged 5 shots in 4 rounds. :(

I LOVE Sawgrass, though. Easily one of my favorite places to play.

Great rounds by Divot and Hogs at Celtic Manor and Sawgrass respectively.

I couldn't get anything going this morning at Sawgrass and found myself at +4 after the first 7 holes. I think I was able to cut it down to +1 for the round (or maybe +2, can't remember), but man was it rough out there.

I don't know if anyone else had the same problem, but the wind was acting weird. Sometimes the 10+ mph winds would effect my shot and at other times it didn't. I overshot, by a large margin, at least 3 greens due to this issue I was experiencing. 10+ mph winds in my face, I'd club up, and the ball would just completely sail over the green. I also missed a green or two left or right because side winds seemed to have no effect on my shot as well. It was just really strange. The wind certainly affected my tee shots, however.

Yes, I experienced the same last night and even said out loud to my wife "I love this game, but this is the first time I'm going to have call bulls**t."

Love Sawgrass too, BTW.

One thing that I've noticed is that on shots about 100-110 or less, the wind does not effect as much.

Yep, and they require a great deal of touch to stick close to the pin......

When I get between 50-90 yards I suck. I can chip from 50 in with good results but hitting that 80 yard shot I am terrible at.

I've also never gotten a good tempo result. I am 50% slow and 50% fast but I can't even see how there is a middle ground in there for me to hit. I've all but given up even trying to achieve it.

my highlight of TPC Sawgrass was getting the mythical perfect/perfect swing on 16 with my wedge.

Same here....I have found that you need to move your aiming marker farther out to get a decent result unless you can hit overswing and Perfect or Fast tempo on the shorter clubs. It seems they requite a very quick movement with the analog stick to get consistent results.

Is anyone truly able to successfully use draw/fade by moving the swing stick diagonally in expert swing mode? Seems like the margin for error is too great.

Oh I know and understand this completely. The wind was not acting consistent in my round. I'm not complaining about it or making excuses, was just pointing out an observation I had made during my round.
