XBox One AND PS4 Discussion

Considering I pre-ordered the PS4 / Watch Dogs bundle I would love to know what this means. Unless retailers decided to do something Ubisoft just f***ed over a lot of purchases for the PS4 and Xbone.

Or saved you from what is likely going to be a terrible game. Lots of promise, but as a launch title for a next gen console that promises to do more than any game before it, it is almost assuredly going to fail. The delay just confirms to me that it was likely to be the case.

And if the only reason one is buying next gen console was for that game, then they probably saved you a ton of cash. Otherwise just pick another game.

And now you know EXACTLY why I never bundle pre-orders. There's just too much that can go wrong. It's not like you receive that much of a break on the price, so it's worth just piecing together your own bundle on release day. Lesson learned eh? I really wonder what they are going to do...it's gonna piss a TON of people off if it means no consoles are available for them, which it seems like will be the case.

Guess they are delaying Watch Dogs until next year to polish it up. There goes one of my launch title must-haves.

Yup. Was definitely my most anticipated launch title.

With such a back-log, still not finished GTA V and like everyone else finding free time at a premium, I am actually starting to reconsider my next-gen pre-orders. I've pre-ordered both but may end up cancelling one. I don't think there's a single system exclusive that's grabbed me so I may wait for the Digital Foundry comparisons of the third party game performance before I cancel either the PS4 or XBONE at the last minute. If performance is close enough I think I'll go with the XBONE because of the controller and I think most of the shooter guys (esp. Teal) are going for the XBOX.

Yeah it doesn't work that way unless the retailers let you. Amazon is going to do something so we will see.

Yeah what they have failed to mention is if they are going to adjust down the price and just send you the console. Give a voucher for the game, let you pick another game. They sure as s*** can't send you the console at the same price. I figured they would do something so I didn't over react but a lot of people canceled their pre-order and now those people are SOL.

So - I think I have finally decided that I am just gonna keep my XBone pre-order on Amazon and cancel my PS4 one on Amazon.

That said, the launch line ups for both systems seem pretty thin. Right now I think I am only interested in Dead Rising 3 and CoD Ghosts at launch. Am I missing any other non-sports, must have launch games?

A while back I switched my pre-orders to Bestbuy, for easy return options. I'll be putting the PS4 on craigslist and keeping Xbox One. If there is no demand/mark-up on PS4 I'll probably return it.

That said, the launch line ups for both systems seem pretty thin. Right now I think I am only interested in Dead Rising 3 and CoD Ghosts at launch. Am I missing any other non-sports, must have launch games?

Battlefield 4 is a must have for me!

I'm also getting COD Ghosts, AC4 and NBA 2K14.

Believe it or not, but BF4 is not really on my radar. I used to feel that the BF series was light years beyond the CoD games in terms of team play, objectives and coolness. I have recently flip-flopped to CoD over BF.

BF is great, but over the past year I just can't get into the epic battles where I am always a lone wolf. Sure the scope is huge and the teams are large, but when it's just me playing with 30+ randoms everything that I like about the concept goes out the window. It ends up being me running and gunning like I would in CoD. With the CoD series, even though it's that fast paced, Halo style, limited strategy gameplay - I know what I am getting into and can play with randoms in short bursts and have fun.

Rumors are that Driveclub for the PS4 is also going to be delayed until early 2014.

Titanfall release date will be March 11, 2014.


AC4: Black Flag has now grabbed my attention with the last few trailers. I haven't played an AC game since Brotherhood. Running around the Caribbean as a pirate-assassin should be fun.

Stopped by Best Buy at lunch today and saw a couple sales people setting up the Xbox One. I asked them if there would be any playable demos, and he said for the time being it'll only be game videos playing. Bummer.

Anyone have any Sony stores near them with the PS4 on display? Apparently, Fifa, Knack, and a couple other demo titles are playable. Other retailers are supposed to get them soon, but nothing yet here in St. Louis.

Still not positive what PS4 launch game to get (other than NBA2k14). I'm not a big fan of COD multiplayer but I may go for COD Ghosts just for the campaign.

I have the PS4 pre-ordered at Amazon, but am having my doubts on whether or not to get it. I know I want one, but not sure about getting one at launch. With kids birthdays and Christmas coming, I might pick up a Wii U first. I am just not sure.

Everyday it seems Sony or Microsoft announce something that won't be ready by launch. I'm not talking games either, I don't know where I read this yesterday but we're basically paid beta testing the new systems.

Definitely tempered my expectations. I've got the XBONE and the PS4 both on pre-order, after playing the former I'm starting to seriously question whether or not I want to jump into next-gen just yet*






* Of course, tech-lust will win out over any common sense I have and I'll still get at least one of them for now I can agonize over it.
