I'll have to see if it is a setting that can be edited, but it does ask you when you begin your career.

There's PGA Tour settings down at the bottom from within career mode. You can customize event length and AI difficulty (and change it at any time).Spooky wrote:There's a setting fo this?Aristo wrote: BTW, are folks that are playing the career mode using the full four day setting, or just playing one day for each tourney. I like the idea of four day tourneys. But that dramatically increases how long it takes (as in 4x, duh!) to move forward.
I was doing 2 rounds per tourney, but wanted to move along the career faster. Now I do one rounders for normal events, but bump it up to 2 for a major.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I do 4 day because there are cuts and frankly I don't make the cut most of the time, well ever.
I'm curious if I make a cut or a final grouping on the last day if it will pair me with the virtual golfers which would be cool. I know a lot of people would hate this but I think it would add to the tension.

I have always played all 4 rounds even if I'm completely out of the running in the last round and sometimes you don't make the cut after 2 rounds anyway. There is also an option to sim a round which I have never used.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
The 2 round tournaments have a cut after the first round. In the final round, you're still playing by yourself and just scoreboard watching, which will change throughout the round.
I haven't paid attention enough to get particular on the timing of when the CPU posts scores relative to your own, like if you were in the final group or something.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I finished 3rd in my first Nationwide tourney. I thought the CPU did a nice job of updating the scores after each hole relative your own. While I did not watch my "partner" play, I knew what his scores were because we alway had the same played through number.
And the the others I was competing with for scores were behind or in front of me, and I had an idea of how much time I and they had to lower or have our scores bumped up. That felt realistic.
What didn't feel realistic was that I assumed the pairing and order would be set by score, but that never seemed to be the case.

I missed the cut at the Honda tournament yesterday and usually I go for the 4 rounds. I think I probably made the cut in 2 out of 8 tourneys that I entered.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
Thanks for the clarification. When you were talking about adding a foot to the putt then taking off 30% I thought it was something that you were physically adjusting in the game prior to taking the shot. This makes more sense now. I just don't have the putting down enough to know what the difference is between what I do with the thumbstick for a 5 foot putt vs. 10, 15, 30, etc. This is helpful, thanks for posting.Diablo25 wrote:In my example above the calculation for a 15 foot putt, 2 inches uphill, in fast conditions comes to putting the ball like it is a 12 foot putt. Possible conditions in the game are Slow, Average, Fast and Tournament. You need to take a percentage off your putt depending on the conditions. If you just look at a 15 foot putt uphill in this game and think "I gotta hit this thing harder than 15 feet" - you will blow it by the hole. The same exact putt I calculated above but with "Average" conditions instead of "Fast" you would only take 20% off because Average greens are slower greens than "Fast" greens.
Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
What are your Kat's CAG skill level when you play against other CC's? Mine is around 36 I think, matches are close most of the time until you run into a guy that's around 70 or 80 and they start pulling away on the back 9.

How exactly do you do this? If I don't make the cut there is no option to play round 3 and 4.vader29 wrote:I have always played all 4 rounds even if I'm completely out of the running in the last round and sometimes you don't make the cut after 2 rounds anyway. Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
Thanks to some of the links here, I have been trying to find video tutorials on how to drive, chip, putt, draw/fade, etc. but the trick is most of what I can find is not for Tournament settings, so it has all the meters and assists that we are not using so they have not been that helpful. However, this one below from EA is suprisingly helpful at least in describing the process and when to use it. I wish they had tutorials like this for all types of shots for each level of difficulty, or at least for Tournament. I apologize if this was already posted.Spooky wrote:So, can someone help me or link me to a video explaining how to correctly use and execute the draw and fade on Tournament Pro difficulty?
Do you guys use it much?
I understand it in theory but I can't really figure out how to properly execute it or when in the game I really actually need to use it. I am finding that as long as I aim the shot correctly and hit it straight, 90% of the time I am in okay shape.
Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
Thanks for posting that. That was really useful.
I think it is beneficial to practice stuff with meters on in order to get the gestures down. But once you get it, you should be able to duplicate it without.

Yeah, I am curious. If you miss the cut the menu advances to the next event in my case.Danimal wrote:How exactly do you do this? No, you change your stance.Aristo wrote:I'm an extreme golf novice, but my impression is that you do not change your swing to apply draws and fades, but you adjust your grip.

Yes you adjust your stance. In fact I would say trying to hit a draw or fade by only adjusting your grip is the complete wrong way to go.DivotMaker wrote:No, you change your stance.Aristo wrote:I'm an extreme golf novice, but my impression is that you do not change your swing to apply draws and fades, but you adjust your grip.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
That makes more sense. I have a baseball swing, and every shot I ever hit was a slice. Nothing I ever did fixed it. I was a pretty pathetic left golfer. But I mostly adjust my grip and not my stance. I probably had a lot wrong with what I was doing.DivotMaker wrote:No, you change your stance.Aristo wrote:I'm an extreme golf novice, but my impression is that you do not change your swing to apply draws and fades, but you adjust your grip.
From the video, I see now what I was doing wrong in the game. I was adjusting my stance, which I thought was a cool way to do it. But I was not adjusting my swing. I'm anxious to give draws and fades another go.

Yeah I meant that I play through the final 2 rounds if I make the cut but am out of the running for anywhere close to a top finishing position, if you don't make the cut you can't play rounds 3 and 4.10spro wrote:Yeah, I am curious. Had thee Head-toHead matches with 10spro doing the 3-hole-minis this afternoon. He said he only had 30 minutes, so we played a few of these. He took the first one, we tied the second, and I picked up the third thank to an Eagle. It was a good time.
If folks see me on, feel free to hit me up for some Head-to-Head. I'm kind of bummed that Bingo Bango Bongo is not available as an online mode once again this year. It's my favorite heads up mode. But some Match Play or Skins would be fun.
I also want to do a round with my Toddler Tiger for an achievement. But I won't foist the little 16 power guy on anyone unexpectedly. It could be a brutally long round. There is also an achievement called Play Date in which you complete a round with three other Toddler Tigers. With enough a beer it could be fun.

Found a few more videos that are somewhat helpful in "seeing" what you are supposed to be doing for driving, chipping, putting. They are definitely geared towards a beginner and use what appears to be the Pro difficulty setting as best I can tell. May not be useful for anyone else, but I am at least moving in the right direction now.

Picked this up finally and joined DSP II…and boy do I suck. Like suck suck. Anyway, my question is whether I can change my shot stick to the right stick while playing within the club? I went in to play the first tourney and the option is not there like it is everywhere else in the game. Am I missing something? I just suck using my left thumb/hand for anything…and considering how this game started for me, that is an added deficiency I don't think I can afford.
Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
Yep, you can change it. Just do it at the higher level menus and it will stick across all modes. Also, it gets better.RallyMonkey wrote:Picked this up finally and joined DSP II…and boy do I suck. Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I'm thinking of doing some TourPro and maybe even some Pro tourneys in the DSP II CC. I think that spending some time with meters will help clarify and male learning easier over time. I think we have some guys that could use a little more easing into the higher difficulty.
But Leadfoot is right. In Te current Weekly we have i am plus 12 and plus 16 in the first two rounds. I spent some time playing offline using a 10x XP boost that got me more that 5000 in one round. After pumping up my putting and other attributes. The result was a -1 in the third round. So stick with it.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I just managed to squeeze three rounds at the weekly event as I have to head out of town tomorrow. Nothing special, struggled in the 1st round with the putter with a +4 and was much better the next round. Shooting Even after 3, I will try to finish it late tonight or when I come back late Sunday.
I am pretty sure that the Elite guys will score some ridiculous numbers over the weekend at East lake.

Never had a freeze in the game once...
...until today.
Playing round 1 of the Daily, I'm carrying a -4 into the back 9 and hit the green...it goes silent, and freezes.
Stuff like this is seriously irritating. And JC--was that a -13 in one round? Or multiple rounds?
