If not for the tire blowout Lewis would have easily won that race, given Britney Spears pace. I'm always amazed how Capt Morgan can drive a sled and make it competitive and put it on the podium albeit with a little bit of luck. So now he's trailing Seb by around 22 some odd points. Good recovery by Felipe, another victim of tire failure.

Ill say this , the races are MUCH more fun when vettel is NOT in them. Guys like a freaking robot.

Whats with the tires? All the money that goes into this and they are racing on s***? Embarrassing.

Was hoping Webber would pull it out but that Nico guy done good.

Looking at that replay of the last tire puncture, Alonso lucky he went right instead of left or that s*** is all in his face.

I was wondering if the race was going to get red flagged. The number of incidents was alarming and with no warning. Clearly there was a common fault, and the construction of the tires were a danger to both driver and those trailing. Kimi getting clocked with tire debris at high speed was not a good moment. But one heck of an entertaining race.

Funny you should mention that. Charlie Whitting said after the race he was really close to red flagging the race. He was really concerned with all the tire blowouts and said Pirelli needs to have a solution in place prior to next weeks race in Germany.

Raikkonen so close to taking Vettel down. Had me cheering the dude on. Great tire strategy almost paid off.

Gratz to Vettel winning his home race.

Glad the tires werent exploding this week.

Red Bull with a great change there on Webber's tires. Wtf was that? That guy got nailed with that tire. That could have been even uglier.

Alonso ran out of gas?

Anyway...Loving me the F1 more and more every week.

Heard the guy walked away but when I saw it I was oh no! Talk about unsafe. Driving out of the pit without a tire cant be good.

For action, strategy and drama, that was the best race of a very entertaining F1 season so far.

I was SO hoping Kimi would catch Vettel. Nice to see two Lotus drivers on the podium. Great jousting throughout the field.

F1 pit crews wear full fire suits and helmets. Why doesn't Bernie put his FOM pit cameramen in the same protection? Inexcusable that the cameraman was allowed to shoot in the pits without a helmet.

The cameraman suffered two broken collarbones, broken ribs and a concussion. Could have been far worse. He would have been killed if that wheel struck him in the head instead of the chest.

F1 has been the most entertaining series in the world for a second consecutive season. Can't wait for every race to arrive.

How about Scott Dixon over the last two weeks. Talk about a comeback. This is going to be a very interesting battle for the Indycar title. Hate to see Sato/Foyt fall so far back after such a great start to the season.

Anyway, new Rush trailer. I still have my doubts about this one, but as long as it is better than Driven I'll be happy. ;)

Sounds of the Mercedes 2014 engine doing a simulated lap at Monza. It's been noted that it should sound different out on the track but it at least gives you a small sample of what it could sound like. IMO, not a good first impression as it sounds like a lawn mower on steroids. :P

Nice racing at Mid-Ohio Sunday. Congrats to Kimball on his first victory. Gutsy pass after the last set of pit stops - I would have hated to think what would have happened if he hadn't made it then and Pagenaud got his tires to temperature.

Watching the race made me realize just how much I want an updated Indy game on the consoles - racing the road calendar would be a blast.

I always like it when the "go like hell" strategy beats out the guys trying to stretch the fuel. Kimball's move of Pagenaud looked like a hero or zero move, glad it stuck. I had visions of his car heading into the sand trap, he made up a ton of ground under braking due to the warm tires.

Mid-Ohio is a great track, I actually bought the DLC for Race Pro that included it and ran some hot laps on it this weekend.

Couple weeks late, but question. Watching the Brickyard I saw a ton of empty seats. I have been logging 60-70 hour weeks for the last year or so, and most of my free time is not spent watching racing. I always make it a point to watch anything at Indy, since I like that track a lot.

It just seemed odd to me to see so many empty seats. Is my memory failing me, or didn't it used to nearly sell out in the late 90s and early 2000s? I notice a lot of empty seats at most Nascar races and it seems like it hasn't always been like this. Am I losing my mind now that I am in my 30s, or is Nascar attendance down by a lot?

Indy race was great, but I was very underwhelmed by the new Nsx info we got. People were hyping it up and it was a letdown. Not that I'll ever be able to afford a car that starts at 115k, but still. It is being built at the Honda plant in Ohio, and this was supposed to be a huge event for Honda fanatics like me.

It's called "Summer Break". Besides it takes Alonso 1 month to cool down after dealing with the crap box he's been driving all year. I don't think Formula 1 wants an angry Spaniard out on the track. Bull fighting Formula 1 style, Oh Lay. :)

They're Euros. What do you expect? Though a little odd given how many teams are in England. I expect it from the French and Italians.

In preparation for the premier of Rush this month, I found the BBC Two documentary Hunt vs Lauda: F1's Greatest Racing Rivals is currently available on YouTube. I doubt it will be there for long, but check it out if you want to see real footage and interviews from this pivotal F1 season.

Edit: Sweet, I found another one also from BBC Two called Clash Of The Titans - Lauda Vs Hunt. This one is a little older and not in HD, but contains some commentary from the great Murray Walker.

Captain Morgan will have his hands full. Any attempted psyche job will not penetrate or bother Kimi.

Agreed, all the stuff Alonso pulled on Massa won't work with Kimi and Kimi on any given day is just as fast as the Capt. It will be fun to watch to of the best on the grid on the same team.

Maybe that explains James Allison leaving Lotus for Ferrari and the rumors of Alonso's agent meeting with RBR and his recent over the radio temper tantrums. I guess this Kimi move may have been in the works for quite sometime now.

The thing is Ferrari doesn't give me the impression it values the WDC as much as it does the Constructors championship. They build some of the most sought after exotic cars in the world and to lose 4 times to RBR who doesn't make cars but energy drinks must be killing them.
