Really sorry you missed that last race: 20.82 miles of gorgeous driving bliss. It's the Forza Horizon version of the Nurburgring.
I got lost and completed only 54 percent of the course.

You missed the last race tho! That 20 miler took about 11 minutes to complete and I had Teal within about 50 yards for the last 5 minutes of the race. I passed him a couple times on the straighter portions because I had more hp in a straight line, but his 4 wheel drive WRX out classed me in the curves (my lame Jaguar just couldn't handle well enough to keep speed) and he ended up edging me by 2 seconds after twenty miles. Ass puckering the entire race for the most part. Just awesome. PK was raving about the track we were on...he loved it. Even though he only saw 60% of it before his minute timer expired.TCrouch wrote:The point of the long-winded explanation is I think Forza Horizon's strength is in the GAME that you race in--not the racing in the game. When we went back to racing at the very end of the night, I was honestly a bit disappointed, which is pretty much the exact opposite of how I feel about every driving game in history.

I really, really don't have the time to play this game you pack of b*stards are making me buy.dbdynsty25 wrote:PK was raving about the track we were on...he loved it. Even though he only saw 60% of it before his minute timer expired
We've played it so late the last two nights that you could grab a few quick races with us at dawn in Blighty. No need for cases of Red Bull, matey.GB_Simo wrote:pk500 wrote:20.82 miles of gorgeous driving bliss. I refuse, at least for now.TCrouch wrote:Rivals mode is certainly addicting. But I wish you could separate the filter by ABS/TCS enabled or not. I've had to turn on ABS and TCS for the time attack stuff just to compete.
Feeling your pain.Danimal wrote:I'm trying to hold off on this until the B2G1 sale at Target this week but you guys are making it hard. 86 Metacritic and a 100 from Giant Bomb makes it even harder.
Damn, you're right. Next time!Naples39 wrote:Good times last night, although we never played any King. I find it pretty hilarious when a gang of 5 cars all come bombing down towards one hapless soul. I can only imagine what this is like on the golf course.
I hope Terry and I don't sound like arrogant pricks when we decry assists. We both dislike people who use full assists to post ungodly times on the Rivals leaderboards -- that's all.webdanzer wrote:Took off my training wheels for last night's action, with the assists off. May not have been the best of ideas for those long supercar races, as it felt like ice for me at times, but it's definitely more fun to play that way!
Game still continues to be a blast, online and off.
Exactly. When you're racing, if you have to use assists to stay competitive and get near the front, then by all means do it. What I'm guilty of b*tching about is guys going in and decimating rival times using them. Or if you are racing people and using assists, and you end up blowing people away by 30 seconds, then it's probably time to turn them off.pk500 wrote:I hope Terry and I don't sound like arrogant pricks when we decry assists. Did you jump online with the guys? If no, then keep your f'n opinion to yourself until you do so.Spooky wrote:Picked this up last night and played for a bit. Really enjoying it but man, I'm really worried that I might be more of a NFS:MW guy. I have that on pre-order through Amazon and I was thinking that if I liked this enough I would just cancel that pre-order but now I am not sure.
Ugh.
I could get both I guess but my limited play time (and funds) would suggest I do either one or the other.
This is one of those things that I like to call a first class headache!
Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like an exciting part of the game, upgrading your cars to your heart's content. Love the slot machine too, although I've been winning mostly $$$ and cars like the Miata. Anyone scored on a good speedy car with the slot machine?TCrouch wrote:Yeah, just go to the Garage in the Hub zone. You can choose to auto-upgrade a car to be a certain class (that's all I did). It will beef up your D-class car into an A-class killer. For me, the Subaru WRX I have is a beast at A class with 4WD. That Monster Energy scheme I found in the storefront just topped it off. Threw some low-pro black rims on it and it's lethal. Increased handling by another point with that, but dropped top speed and acceleration a hair with the heavier rims.
But yeah...there's a ton of crap you can do with every car you own. In the cases where I end up getting a duplicate car from the Slot Machine (LOVE THAT!!!!), I often times go in and upgrade the crap out of the duplicate to make it one of those wonky "WTF is a Trueno doing as an S class Car???" moments.
I was only saying Teal and I were in modified versions of the WRX because I don't think it was an A class to start. I could be wrong, there could be an A class out there of it, I have no idea. I thought it was a C or a B to start with, though.
