Why even bother kicking off from the 35? Just give the receiving team the ball at the 20 and be done with it. Terrible rule change. It's going to be exciting watching Josh Cribbs take a knee in the end zone all season.

I'm 100% with you, why in the hell did they change that rule, what's the purpose?lexbur wrote:Why even bother kicking off from the 35? Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
To cut down on injuries, supposedly.
Wonder if this was something negotiated into the CBA.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
It's a really bad rule change. Scoring will go down as average field position declines, not to mention losing one of the most exciting plays in football. At the very least, they should have compensated by making touchbacks on kickoffs be at the 30.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Agree 100%. I heard is was to cut back on injuries but I am with you. It will cut back on a little bit of the excitement.Brando70 wrote:It's a really bad rule change. Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The first play was awesome but after that, and for the rest of the half, the team looked as if they were playing in their second pre season game. DO NOT like seeing Sam take shots.MizzouRah wrote:Rams 2-0![]()
How about that first play from scrimmage?
I am feeling the Ram power though.
The season cannot start fast enough . I am so f***in wired!

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
WTF did I watch last week? The Dolphins heaving the long ball. Reggie Bush looks like a good pickup and compliments BM. Also the Gates kid is a flyer, too bad Henne overthrew him several times.
Oh wait they were playing Carolina, I just woke up.

Now go wake up Bob Griese. I watched some of that and he appeared to me to have some moments of dementia.Rodster wrote:WTF did I watch last week? The Dolphins heaving the long ball. Bush looked very good.

I know it's early but it's nice to see Chad Henne is not the problem this pre-season.

You IDIOT! Now he's definitely gonna suck. I was trying to keep myself hopeful and now you just destroyed any progress that he's made so far this season.Rodster wrote:I know it's early but it's nice to see Chad Henne is not the problem this pre-season.
Hopefully it really was the coaching staff just holding him back and making him scared to make throws. He's got the arm...but does he have the decision making ability to carry an offense once the real season gets here? I've got significant doubts still.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I don't know how many games they will win, but this is easily the deepest and most talented roster the Chargers have had since Bobby Beathard left.

At the very least, they will score a lot of points, especially if Ryan Matthews holds up. I think Vincent Jackson is going to have an enormous year.bkrich83 wrote:I don't know how many games they will win, but this is easily the deepest and most talented roster the Chargers have had since Bobby Beathard left.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
He earned a big contract, but that is a pretty ridiculous deal. I wouldn't be so much worried about him getting in trouble as staying healthy -- how do you pay a QB that much when he usually can't make it through a 16-game season? The Eagles better win a SB within the next two seasons because Vicks injury proneness will only get worse.dbdynsty25 wrote:Holy crap...Vick just got 6 years, 100 million. I'm also pretty sure the Titans GM did a major face palm when he saw that deal. Good luck with those CJ negotiations now.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
When you have a lousy division like the NFC West, and a team like the Seahawks going to the playoffs with a losing record last season, anything can happen again and I think the Rams are ready for the division win this year.
Not sure what SEA management has in mind but if anything this team is not an upgrade over the great upset win against NO during the playoffs. I thought they got rid of M. Hasselbeck because Charlie Whitehurst was knocking at the door yet they bring T. Jackson who seems to be the Hawks starting QB. Is he an upgrade over Whitehurst? I would have kept the veteran Hasselbeck but regardless this is going to be a mediocre year at best for SEA.
They still need to develop their ground game, the OL is still lousy and yes there's some optimism for the young receivers but I am not sure that T. Jackson is the answer for the Seahawks this season.

Not news to anyone but us lamb fans but the Rams cut mr glass.

Avery gets a pink slip and all I can say is bye bye to a player who never added a damn thing except cowardice and injury. You will not be missed. I can only hope you are signed by another NFC west team.

I wouldn't have cut Avery.. I know he's injured alot, but he has such a high potential.XXXIV wrote:Not news to anyone but us lamb fans but the Rams cut mr glass.

Anyway.. why in the F*ck would they cut QB Lewis?
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
1) I think he was cut for lack of footballplayerness. Im glad they gave up on his "potential" as it shows they are playing for now. They have an idea. Im not sure what that is but they have one.MizzouRah wrote:I wouldn't have cut Avery.. I like how the boys look going in. I am going to miss the first few games as I am off on a trek but I do have one more thing to say...

I read that only $40 million of Mr. Mexico's contract is guaranteed cake. Still, that is a healthy deal for a guy who is as brittle as toffee.Brando70 wrote:He earned a big contract, but that is a pretty ridiculous deal. I'm still a big fan of speed.. and there was one catch he made during preseason where he turned it upfield which would have been enough for me to keep him.XXXIV wrote:MizzouRah wrote:

It's not like we couldn't replace him later in the season.. why keep those two rookie WR's that did NOTHING in preseason?
Oh well.. I'm not the OC.
