Just got home with a brand new Xbox 360 4gb from Best Buy.
They have the same deal as Amazon ($50 gift card with purchase).
It's downloading a system update as we speak but I have a question.
I didn't see coupon for the 1 month free Gold membership, didn't all new consoles come with this?
Is the 360 Dead?

No they don't come with a coupon. What you need to do is create an online account i.e. Gamertag THEN you automatically get 1 month free of XBL Gold. Also you'll need to create a Hotmail or Windows Live account in order for you to complete your Gamertag.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Just got home with a brand new Xbox 360 4gb from Best Buy.

Yeah I figured it was for new Xbox Live users.
I already have a Gamertag which I just went ahead a reactivated.
There was an offer on the Dashboard for 3 months for $12 so I went ahead and bought that.
As soon as I see a good deal for the full year I'll jump on it.
Man, what I have been missing. THIS IS a true online service.
The console is way more quieter than I remember my old Xbox from 5 years ago.
Love the matte black surface.
Think my PS3 has officially become a Blu-ray player only until Uncharted 3....
Re: Is the 360 Dead?
Cool glad you got it figured out but keep in mind when they say 1 free month of Gold they refer to someone who has never owned a 360 before. But if you create another Gamertag you'll get one free month of Live Gold.
If you are into XBLA games they have some killer deals for Gold members. I just bought a puzzler ilomilo for 50% off and Snoopy is good fun MP and is also 400 points.

Don't forget you get 1 month of Netflix for free with your Gold account and if you're ISP qualifies try ESPN3. It's worth a Gold subscription.

Re: Is the 360 Dead?
Having now played NBA 2k11 before on the PS3 and now on the 360 i've noticed that the load times are faster on the 360.
Keep in mind that I haven't installed the game cause I have the 4gb version.
No biggie, just something I noticed.

Re: Is the 360 Dead?
No surprise, as the speed of the Blu Ray player is much much slower than the one on the 360 which is why most PS3 games require a large install to the hard drive to offset the slow blu ray speed.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Having now played NBA 2k11 before on the PS3 and now on the 360 i've noticed that the load times are faster on the 360.

Re: Is the 360 Dead?
XBOX 360 purchased off Ebay in 2007 went down for the 2nd time this week. Was able to fix it myself since it was out of warranty. The heatsink installed by MS after it failed in 2008 kept me from having to do the penny trick. All I had to do is purposely overheat it (not with the towel trick but by unplugging the fan), then leave the bottom of the case off and it has been running all weekend. Hope it stays that way.
