Just picked up my 360 version so you can add me to the list. Amazing game so far but I've been a big fan of the GRiD and DiRT series so I feel right at home:)

So for those of you who didnt know unless he took elocution lessons thats what Simo sounds like.
This, for those of you who've ever wondered and haven't spoken to me via Live or Teamspeak or whatever, is far closer to the truth than I'm comfortable with.

Fletch, that bug list is taken from a thread on the Codies site (targa, or T4RG4, is Steve Hood, the design lead for F1 2010). The dev team are currently on vacation, and planning to get stuck into any major issues when they return. The only ones I've experienced directly are the missing sector 3 times on the timing screen during practice and the wet grip issue, which needn't necessarily be a bug as such but is something Codemasters said had been fixed for the retail release. With regard to engines, it's been known for some time that you can't blow an engine but apparently you can make it lose power if you thrash it too hard. That's important in the career mode, because you've only got 8 engines to last the entire season.

Not sure anyone answered your qualifying question either. It's the same knockout format they've been using since 2006 so if you've seen any F1 since then you'll know it - the slowest 7 cars are eliminated in session 1, another 7 in session 2 and the fastest 10 attempt to take pole position in session 3.

Don, I'd be well up for some DSP racing. Tomorrow would work for me.

I like that scheme the best, so when I got the 360 version today I signed with them. I did the 7 year career and bumped it up to Expert, but turned TCS back to Medium.

It's just about right for me. I was down in the 1:56 range in the season opener at Bahrain last night with the Virgin on PC and the G25, and the AI is turning right about there in season mode on the 360 today. On the Virgin I was only in the 2:00 range on the 360, which was only good for 12th in the first practice session. Right where I was hoping to land, but I also tagged somebody and got docked 5 positions...doh!

The difficulty seems to be just about perfect for me so far. I was blazing around Bahrain, but was well off the pace in Melbourne, and I turned dozens of laps last night on the first track just looking for speed. Haven't done that in a while, and it was a good time.
T are you sure you selected the right difficulty settings??? :?

I selected the one where I said I want to be challenged and I was able to pick the Williams, Sauber, STR-Toro Rosso, Force India and the other three you mentioned. And I think once the AI is set it can't be changed. Someone want to verify this? :!:

When in your paddock and you go to the race (career mode) or when you select Grand Prix in the race setting you can change difficulty.

I got the same options as you, Rodster. I am wondering if I should start over and use one of the better teams. I kinda like that Virgin isn't asking for too much, since I am new to this game and am no pro. I qualified 10th in the first race. Have yet to run the race yet. I am wondering if I should just start a new career and use a better team. Williams and Sauber are way better than Virgin, correct? Like I said, I haven't seen more than about 5 minutes of F1 this year so I am in the dark. :(

Yeah but I was referring to when the game starts for the very first time and the press is asking you questions like name how long do you want your career to be etc. The last question about your skills is the one where you can pick your team to join. I selected Sauber.

:!: Also just an FYI, I got a nice performance bump by running the game in windowed mode. ;)

The engine in the Williams car sounds like a cross between a dying cat, a hungry veloceraptor and a screaming baby all being dragged down the track at 200mph. I think my neighbors are gonna be hating me later on:)

Rod, what qualifying and finishing place are Sauber looking for you to get? I think Virgin wanted me to qualify 17th and finish like 20th or something way in the back? If I continue with Virgin it is my understanding I will get more offers from other top teams later on? I am not sure what to do. Do I want to just start with Sauber or go ahead with Virgin and their low standards lol.

Not sure what you mean. The teams you pick are related to the years you sign up for in your career. On a 7 year you're only able to choose from HTR, Lotus, or Virgin.

Difficulty can be changed any time you go to a race. Expert with medium TCS is perfect for me. I just lose the ass end of the car too much without it. Either that, or I lose 5 seconds a lap p***y-footing around, scared to spin out.

I think I see what you were saying before.

But it has nothing to do with your difficulty. It has to do with the number of years you choose.

What is the BEST team you can sign with? Is Sauber the fastest car and best team?

Williams is better than Sauber? I guess you picked Sauber because they use Ferrari engines? 8)

Yes to both. Williams has performed better with Cosworth and yes i'm partial to Ferrari although I despise Mr. Prick. :P

I think that my be the rev limiter you are hitting? That's been my assumption anyway. Remember F1 limits the top revs by technical regulations. Somewhere in the manual I read that you can adjust that within the regs as well if you want to mess with the long term reliability of your eight engines.

Thats probably it Zep yeh as i just finished on pole in first career session on hard, in a Lotus  may have to pull a Terry and bump it up.
But Had Simo jumping for Joy telling me how great it was to have a Lotus finally back at the top after all these years :D

I was in my first race with Virgin. Started in 7th place. I am doing 30% I think. The race is 15 laps. I was in first place after 7 laps, so I went to make my pitstop. I stopped with only one other guy, so no issue. I came back out and was fighting for position. I heard my phone ringing, so I *thought* I paused my game. Came back to find out it didn't pause. I am a bit worried. I shouldn't be able to take the lead, much less with such ease at this stage and in this car. I am on normal. Looks like I need to bump it up one. Is it just me, or is it a LOT easier to make up positions in the race than in qualifying? I started 7th and was leading before the end of the first lap of the race. I am not that good either, so it makes me think the difficulty needs to be bumped up for all but the worst racers lol.

Any of you guys with the PC version experiencing major slowdowns, like at certain parts of a track the game will pause and start up almost as if it's literally in slide show mode? :?

I was thinking either my CPU or GPU where throttling back from heat but while bought CPU/GPU are running hot it shouldn't be enough to cause that or I hope not. Btw it's unpredictable as it can strat to happen within 3 laps or 10 laps and then it clears up for awhile then starts back up again.

Well just got done with my first career race 50% race distance, got pole but forgot i had a 5 spot penalty started in 5th, got spun out on he first corner managed to crawl my way back up to 4th before i had a flat on the beginning of lap 25 my final lap had to limp round 3.71 bloody miles to a 13th place finish.
Still beat my goals but still i thought the engineer would be happy but he showed no emotion.

Can you adjust the controller sensitivity? There seems to be a pretty big dead zone for both triggers.

I currently have PC, and possibly soon to be 360 if I can find it. As best I can tell, here is the DSP breakdown:

Terry - 360 & PC
DChaps - 360 & PC
Rodster - PC & possibly 360 (?)
GB_Simo - 360
JRod - 360
DB - 360
Zeppo - 360
Vader - 360 (?)
Jimmy - PS3
Toon - PS3
Fletch - PS3
Squid - ?
Spooky - ?
Scoop - ?
Gangrel - ?

Looks like at least potential for a decent poker night attempt. Chime in if I have your version wrong and I will edit the post. Anyone up for giving it shot tonight or tomorrow?

I don't have it yet, but something tells me by Sunday I will........ :P

This game...wow. So impressed. It's pretty much the first open wheel game I can actually play on the 360 as opposed to my PC. I've got the PC to run it, but I just wanted it on the 360 for some reason...maybe if we get some guys to run this for poker nights. So impressed so far and I've only been running some time trials.
