No idea why Youtube made this look so crappy, I don't have time to process another one and upload it. I'll keep working on getting the right settings.

Great job Terry.

I have someone I work with that wants to take over the 49ers. Anyone have an issue with him coming in now, or should we make him wait to off season? Or is everyone happy with the way things are?

I'm ok with a new owner or two... we could use it. As long as they play their games!

No objections at all for new players. . .the more I think about it, I think the perfect amount of players is 24 Human and 8 CPU. . .three humans in every division (probably not realistic due to folks liking specific teams and certain divisions having more desirable teams than others)

Great job guys.

Also, I'm totally good with adding new owners. I agree that having at least three human owners in each division would be great.

Giants continue their march toward the basement with a loss in New Orleans, 35-27.

The game would begin in seemingly typical fashion for Big Blue as Jacobs would lead a drive into opponent territory only to have Eli force a pick that Reggie Bush would quickly convert to 7 points for the Saints.

However, this time the Giants would respond as Manning would connect with Hixon three times to enter the half up 21-10.

However, the Saints would find themselves winning the battle of attrition as Jacobs and Steve Smith would be sidelined for extended periods as well as the Giants' best CB and SS.

The Saints would captialize by scoring 22 consecutive points in the third. Jacobs would finally return to key a fourth quarter touchdown drive that would see the Giants climb within 5, but a failed two-point conversion and a Saints late FG would seal their third consecutive loss to start the season.
Steve Smith would remain out with a dislocated elbow.

No highlights as I had to get my son off the school bus.

An *incredibly* frustrating game. As each injury mounted, my ability to get anything going on either side of the ball disappeared. I'd held Colston without a reception for the entire first half, but Brees started picking me apart in that woeful third quarter as Colston found the end zone three times.

CPU Saints 3-0????

Wow that owner last year must of been the worst madden player ever :)

EDIT: Oh and they now have more wins against human opponents then the Texans! j/k

I might be soon taking that dubious distinction from Brando as I haven't beaten a human opponent since week 12 :?

But you're the only human loss I've had in that Cards/Giants game.

I hope I get a crack at ya with the Raiders

Dan, I think an owner for the 49ers would be great, but as usual he needs to introduce himself here and say hello and all that. Hopefully he will stick around in other threads than just the league thread in the end.

And Terry great job as always on the rankings and player awards, but my vote for Coach of the week has to be Brando for breaking that streak! GameSe7en, you have to get back to that back-foot Eli, man!

Danimal I love the highlights. This time I could see them on the iPhone, but man does it make stuff look bad! You have to mix up the tunes from time to time, too, I think, even though those trombones in that one are amazingly awesome.

I love this league. Right there with the old ToCA leagues and the long WE League, but better with all the highlights and rankings and commentary and such. Maybe we can reach the WE League record of 10 seasons, too.

I told him I had to get the ok first, I'll see if he still is interested and then have him introduce himself here etc.

As for the videos, I didn't have a lot of time this week and editing on the PC sucks. I have to take an already low quality flv off EA's site. Convert it to Mpeg, splice it. Process it as Mpeg 4 or FLV, then upload to Youtube and they then do whatever to it.

The results are less then outstanding.

Playing in the west is like being marooned in space. Why we have the mic rule. This to me is about having fun with the guys. A 49er owner would be great...Winning the west last year was extremely ungratifying. If I want to win like that I can just continue playing offline seasons. I dont need to be in this league.

Terry nice job again...

EDIT: I missed the highlights before. Great job again this week Dan. That s*** is sweet!

Pittsburgh goes to 3-0 and matches their win total of last season with a 52-20 win over the Carolina Panthers. Willie Parker had his third game in a row of rushing for over 150 yards with 178 yards on 20 carries with 2 tds. Ben Roethlisberger finished 8 out of 14 for 95 yards with 1 td and 1 int. Jake Delhomme was 15 out of 26 for 217 yards 2 tds and 3 ints. The Steeler defense held DeAngelo Williams to just 58 yards rushing on 21 carries.

After a scoreless first quarter Carolina scores first on a 20 yard field goal early in the second quarter but Pittsburgh answers quickly when Santonio Holmes returns the kickoff 98 yards for a td:

The Steelers would go up 14-3 on a 4 yard td from Willie Parker when the Panthers started a comeback and scored on this 65 yard pass from Jake Delhomme to Ryne Robinson:

After intercepting Ben Roethlisberger Carolina would take the lead on a 2 yard pass from Jake Delhomme to DeAngelo Williams. Pittsburgh managed a last second 51 yard field goal to end the half tied at 17.

Willie Parkers big run of the game came early in the third quarter on a 61 yard run for a score:

Ben Roethlisberger would find Heath Miller in the back of the endzone for a 5 yard score to put the Steelers up by 14:
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
The fourth quarter saw Carolina only able to score on an early field goal before Pittsburgh ran away with the game with another kickoff return for a td from Santonio Holmes and this int return for a score from Ike Taylor:
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
Next week the Steelers will travel to Cleveland to take on their first human controlled opponent of the season while Carolina travels to Minnesota.

Rams find a CPU team less prepared to play than they are as they take down the headless and flightless Seawhawks 34-10...Highlights at 11.

Bulger saves his job for at least another two weeks as the Rams have a bye. The puss threw 3 TDs. The rook shouldnt have very long to wait however as the pressure on the head coach is getting intense despite the empty victory.

Bye week comes at a good time as Avery is knocked out for two weeks with another of his nearly weekly EA injuries.

Guys besides the possible new owner in SF, the old Cowboys owner and a really good owner is going to be coming back.

I'll let him announce himself and which team he is taking.

Well if Jordan, Sandberg and Iverson can do it, so can I. I'm back as the owner of the Carolina Panthers.

Raiders dominate Jaguars 63-7 behind another 5 TD day by Morrow

The Oakland Raiders continue to destroy the opposition behind the brilliant play of first-year signal caller Dane Morrow. Morrow completed 16 of 19 passes for 307 yards and 5 touchdowns, his second consecutive 5 TD game.

This was a short day, however, as the Raiders forced the Jags to go 3 and out on the opening possession, and then the first offensive play for Oakland was a 48 yard bomb to speedster Darrius Heyward-Bey, who blazed past the Jacksonville secondary for a quick 7-0 lead:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Morrow and the 2nd year wideout and developing an almost unstoppable chemistry just 3 games into their career together. In three games, Morrow has thrown for 871 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 1 interception, which came on this play:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Heyward-Bey has been his primary target, hauling in 15 passes for 387 yards and 6 scores in the first 3 games of 2010. The Jacksonville game was nothing but a DHB highlight reel. He had the first big score of the game, and then he channeled his inner Earl Campbell in catching a simple slant and bowling over 3 separate defenders to reach the goal line:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

He later hauled in yet another score to put the game out of reach.

When the Jaguars shifted their coverage to (finally) start covering the speedster, other receivers were able to exploit the soft and squishy underneath, like relative unknown Johnnie Lee Higgins.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Morrow's day ended with 5:49 to play in the 3rd, after a TD pass to Louis Murphy put the game out of reach at 49-7.

Somewhat lost in the shuffle of Morrow's emergence has been Darren McFadden, who hasn't been nearly as explosive as he was last season. Nobody can pinpoint the cause, but it wasn't until a late run attempting to ice the game that he broke 100 yards. He split the gap and raced untouched 53 yards to finish with 27 carries for 145 yards and the 1 TD.

As long as Morrow is able to continue to spread the ball around (8 different receivers caught balls for Oakland--9 to wideouts, 7 to tight ends, and 3 to running backs), the running game will be tough to stop for the entire game.

Defensively?

Oakland was dominant. After giving up back to back 300 yard passing days, the Raiders clamped down on the Jags, allowing just 117 total yards (7 rushing, 110 passing) and held them to 1-for-10 on third down as opposed to Oakland's 10-for-11 afternoon.

The Raiders will be tested much more next week as they host the Chargers in a rematch of the season opener, which saw the Raiders convert uncharacteristic turnovers into a 41-6 win.

The Bolts will be looking for payback.

In the three opening games of the 2010 campaign, the Raiders have been nothing short of dominant. They've outscored their opposition 155-22 in three games, yet San Diego still poses an excellent chance of slowing down that attack and coming away with a victory.

Booooooo!!! :D

Dan and Terry, great work again. You guys are doing so much to add an extra layer of entertainment to an already fun league. I especially loved the Singletary cameo.

Also great news to get new owners in and for The Gamer to be back. Now we'll have at least one human owner in each division. Good luck to you guys.

Badgun and I are on tonight for The Battle for Texas. I need to win not just to stay in the AFC South race, but so I can get some more respect from Terry over those CPU stiffs ranked ahead of me :P

If we could get one more owner in that division with Gamer that'd be awesome. Isn't it strange that the Colts, Pats, and Saints all go unclaimed in our splendid league?

Uhm, Scoop is controlling the Colts, Slumber. Or are you thinking of Balto, which he left? But it is a little odd that the Saints and the Pats are unclaimed, as are the Falcons with their beast of a back.t

I guess I was confused after Badgun's switch to the Boys... didn't know Scoop had switched too.
