Sadly I don't think the idea of a spectator mode has occurred to the EA folks, so I'd tend to doubt it. My understanding is that OTP with the created 'be a pros' is a fatigue free, no line change affair. I do wonder if we can srimmage against each other intera-guild if we have enough for a private game.ScoopBrady wrote:Yeah, I can't wait. I want a spot on the DSP team.
Does anyone know if you sit on the bench during BAP?
I can't wait.
My impression is that for offline BAP, you *will* sit on the bench between shifts where you will get feedback on your performance. For online BAP, I think Zeppo's impression is correct. I would be surprised if scrimmages were available as they would need to except them from record keeping and player progression altogether. While that shouldn't be particularly difficult, at the same time, it would be a surprising addition.Zeppo wrote:Sadly I don't think the idea of a spectator mode has occurred to the EA folks, so I'd tend to doubt it. On the other hand, we could always scrimmage in conventional OTP (has this been confirmed to still exist?) with player lock. We'd just lose our player specific ratings.

That's good news. That's exactly what I was hoping for offline. I was afraid you'd just play center all game for every line or something like that.GameSeven wrote:My impression is that for offline BAP, you *will* sit on the bench between shifts where you will get feedback on your performance. I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

It is pretty damn awesome. I am actually surprised at how fun it is.Macca00 wrote:Be A Pro is a sh!tload of fun
Occasionally the camera swivels all the way around when you loop around the net. I ended up on the doorstep waiting for a pass...looking directly across the rink and the damn winger hit me with the pass! I slammed the damn puck in for a sweet goal. I saw the entire play develop and the AI did its job. It was one of those, "that was very cool" moments. The full version can't get here quick enough.

So it's like that first person view like nfl2k5 had?Diablo25 wrote:It is pretty damn awesome. I am actually surprised at how fun it is.Macca00 wrote:Be A Pro is a sh!tload of fun

I think it ressembles a lot to the camera used by NHL 2K5, called the isometric camera or something to that extend. Except that this one is even quicker and it just shows you how fast the action is on the ice, so you better don't stand around, or you can get smoked.
BAP is going to get a lot of attention here.

Holy sh*t this game looks and plays good! I haven't played console hockey in a couple of years - talk about night and day!
It's going to be an embarassment of riches this year with NHL 09, Fifa 09 and Head Coach 09.
Best wishes,
Doug

Not sure what to say, graphics like last years, which is good. Default came on regular mode, well is seems a little more zoomed out than last years default. I don't like the the new score box is this year but no big deal. Tried the other mode and had no idea what I was doing.
but I had an easier time on defense on the demo than last year. Maybe I will have to get use to this years game.

Well the demo is great for sure....it seems to play even better than NHL 08. One thing that bothered me though is some of the checking animations...some of those in the corner don't look very good. It's almost like part of the animation is missing. Anyway thats my only gripe...still a day one purchase for me.
