Its pretty bad ...well horrific...but on the bright side I wasnt planning on a trip to the superbowl.

I was actually more upset by the Bears offense than I was the Rams...Only 49 weeks until opening day.

Yesterday was one of the most deflating, demoralizing, depressing losses I've ever seen, and I've seen a hell of a lot over the years. Just miserable. Unbelievably bad. And before the game, all the idiot Redskin fans were cheering when Green Bay beat San Diego, I just don't get it. OK Maybe we won't really be fighting them for a wild card spot, since they look like they will win their division now, but wtf? People just love to hate Norv, I guess, which I just don't get. The last time we won the division was thanks to Norv, right before the Danny showed up to f*** us all.

The end of that game was brutal.

The spiking of the ball? why?... and they did it twice.

Why the hell were they so hurried when they had 40 seconds for the last play? Isnt that how much time it takes for a normal play?

Just bizzare...especially when you consider Gibbs is the coach.

More good news for the Rams. Jackson is out with a groin tear. Good times.

The Sex Cannon has been sheathed. Looks like Griese is starting for the Bears. That should be just enough to keep them out of the playoffs and get a shitty draft pick. Bring on the Orton neckbeard!

Grossman's demotion made official today.

ESPN keeps showing Lovey Smith saying "Rex is our QB" over the years and now "Bryan is our QB."

He just signed a contract extension in the offseason but will he lose some credibility for sticking with Grossman so long? Well if Griese lights it up maybe.

Half the Bear D is out...the change is 4 games too late....I think it cost the Bears a Super Bowl.

I find it pretty laughable that you think Brian would have led them to the Superbowl. If he is such a great QB why did no one want him a year ago?

They have no running game, their offensive line is horrible, receivers who are afraid of contact and don't finish routes and lets not forget the number of changes on the coaching staff that occured during the offseason.

The Bears may get a 1 game surge out of the QB switch, but it won't matter much. All it's going to take is one good hit and were back to Grossman.

If there was a handbook of all the wrong moves you could make after going to the Superbowl, the Bears made everyone of them.

I can't see how anyone who watches the Bears and has half a brain can think that this one change will make a difference. I hope i am wrong and I'm back here in 3 weeks eating crow, but I doubt it. The Bears will lose this weekend to Detroit and badly.

BTW I hear Fred Miller may be out for this week and that the Bears will be putting a turn style in his place, it's about time they upgraded at that position.

Aside from the Jones trade, which was pretty bad, I don't think they did much that was wrong. I hated seeing Rivera go, but Babich has done a decent job as defensive coordinator. He can't control injuries or the defense getting tired because turnovers keep them on the field for whole quarters.

Grossman was going to be back no matter what. With him being in the last year of his contract and Griese making pretty good money, bringing in another QB wasn't going to happen. That's just the cap economics.

The defensive injuries are just killers. Teams can't have multiple injuries at the same positions and expect to fill them with talented guys. I thought bringing in Archuletta and Walker actually made the unit better, but when you lose 3/4 of your defensive backfield and two DTs, you're going to be f***ed in today's NFL.

The bottom line is, with Jones back and Benson as a tandem RB, and maybe a couple defensive injuries, I'd feel okay with the Griese switch. As it is, they are going to be in trouble unless the ground game makes some miraculous recovery.

I meant last year.....the 4th game was the superbowl ..They have only played 3 this year.

No I dont think hes a great qb...I just dont think he would have lobbed up that int for a TD to the Colts on 1st and 10 in the when the Bears were down by less than a TD in the 4th qtr....I just think Rex is a piece of crap who wont even be in the NFL in 3 yrs.

That's just stupid. Have you seen some of the quarterbacks in this league?

I stand corrected, Griese is the answer. All those things I brought up like a bad offensive line, receivers who are scared of contact and an overrated defense who is giving up yards in bunches.

None of that matters, we've turned the corner, look out NFC 8O

I think that's unfair to the defense. They did really well against a tough Lions offense despite having their entire starting secondary out. No defense can stay on the field the way the Bears have to because the offense is so inept.

That's really what it comes down to. There's no running game, the receivers are dropping passes, and the QBs and RBs are not taking care of the football. You can't win football games with half of a team.

You can continue to defend the defense, and we can go another week with the whole they wore out excuse.

Time of Possession
Bears 30:23
Lions 29:37

Total Plays
Bears 74
Lions 49

Two of those scoring drives took a total of 9 plays! If they are tiring at the end of the game each week, maybe they should have worked harder in Training Camp instead of another Club Lovie.

This team has more holes in it then the Titanic, I can't wait for all the talk radio this week, no Rex to blame, it's certainly going to be fun to listen to.

Mark it down, the Pack score 30+ again next week, even if the all glass secondary return.

That Oakland offensive line hasn't looked too shabby this season, eh DB? Culpepper may disappoint, but I'll take him over McCown any day.

They're hardly elite, but like I was saying before the season, they're no pushover anymore.

B. Favre is on fire. Who would have guessed the Packers would be 4-0?

Me. I made only two wagers before the season started- the over on Green Bay and the under on St. Louis.

Is it too early to collect?

They gave up just over 300 yards against one of the better offenses in the NFL, when they had a MASH unit on the defensive side. The difference this year is that they are are not good enough to overcome the skull-f***in this offense delivers every week. If the Bears could figure out how to protect the football, they would probably be 3-1. So the defense looks beatable, but it's not the Achilles heal for the team.

Kudos to the Colts for avoiding any letdown since the Super Bowl. They look like the most complete team in the NFL right now, even more than the Pats, I think.

I agree. It's awfully hard to maintain superb defensive play with an offense that likes to play Santa Claus and the amount of injuries they've had on one side of the ball. Griese may have thrown 3 interceptions today but he still looked better than Grossman IMO. I also think you have to give him 2 more games to get his timing down before being too critical of him. I think he'll look better next week but the Packers will still win big.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
