Did anyone here really believe that this game would amount to anything? Seriously? People will play this game for a week and shelve it, sell it, etc.

Not worth getting upset about framerate or clipping issues IMO.

Agree with Leadfoot, that NFL Tour demo was garbage (both in looks and how it played). Can I have my bandwidth back? ;)

I saw the NFL Tour trailer on XBL and I was very unimpressed. In fact i've been very unimpressed with the series since it first started as NFL Street. My favorite to this day is NFL Blitz which is no longer around do to the NFL contract.

The trailer I watched last night looked like a hi rez Xbox game similar to Nascar 08. After what I saw I won't bother with this title.

Did anyone else end up getting Pixel Junk Monsters? It's a tower-defense game that is very addictive. After the boring Pixel Junk Racers game I wasn't expecting much from this but I've been pleasantly surprised. I tried the demo on the Japanese market place first or else I wouldn't have pulled the trigger without trying. Another cool thing is the fact that you can play it on your PSP through Remote Access. Just thought I'd throw out the recommendation on this one.

Whatever it is, it's getting good reviews. But, PSN needs to start putting out free trials like XBL does. I refuse to spend money on something I'm not sure I'd enjoy.

Basically you are the leader of your tribe and swarms of monster keep attacking your hut. In order to protect the hut you need to build towers to kill the monsters. You start out with 3 types of towers; basic Arrow towers that are weak but can attack both flying and ground monsters ($100), Canon towers that are more powerful but only attack ground monsters ($120), Air turret towers that are more powerful but only attack flying monsters ($150).

As each wave of monsters come through they will vary in type. You might have a wave of fast, flying monsters followed by a wave of slow, ground monsters. There are strong and weak monsters as well. Tower selection and placement are key to killing each wave.

As you kill monsters they drop money and gems. The gems can be used to research new tower types such as an Ice tower that will slow down monsters temporarily. The money is used to build more towers.

Each tower you build can also be upgraded to do more damage. Upgrades can happen in one of two ways; either you buy the upgrade and it happens instantaneous or you stand by the tower and dance until it upgrades. Obviously that takes more time so it's a question of time or money for upgrades.

You can also sell towers and recover a fraction of their original cost if you feel you don't need the tower anymore or you really need cash to build a new tower.

If you're even remotely interested after reading this I highly recommend making a Japanese PSN account and downloading the demo. It's very addictive and IMO the best PSN game released yet.

Guys Tower Defense is a free flash game. I must have played it 6 months to a year ago. I don't keep up with PSN but if they are charging for this then that is bat s*** crazy.

Do a Google search and you can try it for free on the web. Sccop's description is spot on for game play. I'm actually amazed they released this as DLC.

Umm no you can't. Zuma was released first for the PC and it was from pop cap games, it was never free you had to buy it to unlock all the levels. Tower defense on the other hand was a great flash game that was entirely free, I haven't searched but I bet you can't find it now if they are selling it on PSN, hope they improved the graphics.

If people want to pay for a flash game or Zuma more power to them I was simply pointing out you could try it for free on the web, if of course it is still there.

I know of a few of you guys would defend Sony if they killed baby seals and sold them but I don't think it is out of line to point out that this game was and might still be available for free.

I defend Sony routinely, but there's absolutley no reason to not offer PSN free trial downloads. These games might only be $10, but it adds up especially if you only play the game once because you dislike it.

They should have something like iTunes Gift Cards so you don't have to directly put your credit cards on your PSN account.

Baby seals are delicious.

That Pixel Junk game looks very different from Desktop Tower Defense - the concept is the same but the visuals and interface are different. I don't see how Sony selling the game on PSN is any different than XBL selling a poker game, frogger and pac man.

I never said it was different in fact I never even brought up Xbox Live, that was the Sony Patrol instantly comparing everything to the 360.

I was simply pointing out that

1. It was a free flash game, correction a great free flash game
2. I couldn't believe they were selling it.
3. You could try it, hell play it for free for those asking for a demo.

The reason for #2 is I didn't know that Pixel Junk was the game in question. I thought they up and ported Tower Defense.

You ask me both companies are doing a shitty job at putting out original DLC.
