Only if your HDTV has HDMI inputs. If your HDTV is 1080p capable or if you plan on buying a 1080p TV then HDMI is a must. Regardless all new 360's come with HDMI and the 077x Lot number sounds good.Sudz wrote:and i can just connect the old HD to the new xbox...cool.
is HDMI something i should get?
Congrats on your purchase.
thanks...hope it works!Rodster wrote:Only if your HDTV has HDMI inputs. If your HDTV is 1080p capable or if you plan on buying a 1080p TV then HDMI is a must. I shipped my on off yesterday. As I was walking into the UPS store (wasn't even all the way in yet) the guy behind the counter says: "not another GD XBOX???!!!"
We started to BS for a few minutes and he stated to me that he's seen on average 5 a week come through his location to be shipped back to MS for repairs. He also said that it's picked up quite a bit since the release of HALO.
Odd.

Mine started freezing right at boot i couldn't even make it to the menu's or if i didi it was not long. This all happen while i was waiting for the nhl2k8 demo to finish but i was also play the nhl08 demo. Probably a built-in crash for trying to different games of the same sport. I got on the phone and a box is being sent to me.
The next day i said wtf i will try this pos again and it didnt freeze i did delete a few demos and clear the cache. I even played an entire game of madden without a fumble.
Now i dont know if i should just use this until the wheels fall off or send it in and risk getting someone's refurb headache, causing me to enter the 360 mailing loop.

That's not a good sign when you get freezes and lockups. That's how mine went. But with that said I would wait till the wheels fall off before sending it in. It's a crap shoot right now. Sometimes you get a refurb and sometimes they send you a new one. Others have even said their original 360 was repaired and sent back.kicko wrote:Mine started freezing right at boot i couldn't even make it to the menu's or if i didi it was not long. Before you send in your 360 I would call CS and ask them what are your options and that you would like your original system fixed and returned.
At the rate they are dying, maybe not. Like I mentioned, my suggestion would be to call, call, call them as much as possible and annoy them. The more you do the quicker you'll see your coffin. Also by constantly calling them i.e. 1-2 times a day you might get some compensation from them i.e. a free game, market place points, additional Live service. I hate to tell people this but it's Microsoft's problem for building an absolute piece of crap system because of the high failure rates.Sudz wrote:
I filled out the online form? that not good enough?
You can verify this with Microsoft. I believe all refurbed systems come with a standard 1 year warranty and a 3 year warranty for RROD. Check to make sure.kicko wrote:Does the warranty extend another year when i get a refurb or new console for non ROL issues, i only have about 2 months left for the one year, but considering a ROL is not to hard to induce, if it had to be.

if it aint MS... it's a republician running for office looking for past supporter hand outs, everyone sells info.bdunn13 wrote:Just in case anyone is wondering, if you give them your email address and opt out of everything(during the tech support call), they will still sell your info.
Thanks Microsoft.
I got my Coffin in 5 business days. Was very surprised because I was told 8-10. There was the federal holiday during that time, but I was very surprised to see it at my door when I got home Tuesday.Rodster wrote:At the rate they are dying it's anywhere from 1-2 weeks. In extreme cases 3 weeks. You need to call customer service and annoying the hell out of them.Sudz wrote:man....that is nuts.
and how long before i get my coffin from them?
