The better team did win.

Grossman made the plays when he had to. When he had the shots he took advantage of them. It was hard to tell which qb was in his 2nd playoff game.

Haselbeck once again failed in the big game. Still making rookie mistakes. I say give him 6 7 more years and he will stop make stupid decisions like that pic right after Grossmans.

Glad to see the worst team in the playoffs go home.

I can't believe there's an NFL quarterback who made Rex Grossman look good, but his name is Matt Hasselbeck. The blitzes rattled Grossman, but he was efficient when necessary. And that long bomb for a TD sure looked like the work of a guy who knows how to throw the ball.

Hasselbeck, on the other hand, looked clueless for the second consecutive week. He KILLED the Seahawks with that late interception right after the bobbled pass that was intercepted by the Seahawks. I sure hope that was a blown route, as Hasselbeck threw that ball nowhere near the receiver.

Why wasn't Stevens worked into the offense more this week like last week? Did the Bears really shut him down that much?

On to the San Diego game: What the f*ck was Marty thinking going for it in the first quarter on fourth and long from the Pats' 32? If you don't trust your Pro Bowl kicker to make a 49-yarder, then why not pooch a punt into the corner? Why take the risk of a fumble or a sack, which is exactly what happened?

Take care,
PK

Is Phil Simms doing his Bob Griese imitation? He has been pretty incoherent the whole first half.

It's not a risk...you don't get the first, they get the ball there anyway. Whether he fumbles or gets sacked, it doesn't really matter. You're only talking about a couple yards difference. The wind was in Kaeding's face and Marty obviously didn't think he had the leg. What are you going to do, punt instead?

 Alright, we get it already. You do not like the Seahawks. Give it a rest. The best thing about the Bears winning today is that we won't have to read your pathetic weekly insults for a while. Now you can concentrate fully on your repetitive politcal comments.

Yeah. Boot it inside the 10. If the ball goes in the end zone, it's at the 20, a net gain of 12 yards for the Chargers. Every yard counts.

TE's have a hard time making a living against the Bears. Their LB's are all excellent at covering them. Hell, Urlacher is often all over the slower WR's!

On an unrelated and thankfully tangential note, the officiating was HORRIBLE! I think the breaks evened out, but that cadaver of a ref and his crew were ridiculous (literally so at the point the flag fell out of the guys pocket lol): Phantom calls, no-calls, and a couple of bizarre spotting issues.

I dont think the Sehawks are good. That is my honest opinion of them. There is nothing wrong with my post.

Chargers are really giving this game away.

Marty not going for 3 on that 4th and 11 and the pats getting the 3 instead may cost him this game.

Yes they are. The failure to fall on that fumble and the personal foul were ridiculous.

Well, at least it was a great game. Congrats to the Bears. Seattle was sooooo close, and I think if they would have won today they would have had great momentum going into New Orleans. Given how beat up the secondary was, I'm very happy with how close they kept it. They never gave up, and took it all the way to OT. Not bad for the worst playoff team ;)

As it is, Seattle ended the season playing better as a team. If they can stay just a little more healthy and pick up an OL or two, they'll be right back in there next year.

My God that fumble after the INT was scary...This game is reaching Twilight Zone proportions.

Poor Marty....

Still the Chargers have the ball with a chance to win it.

Go Chargers!!!

Ya why was he going for the INT on that play? It was 4th down. If he knocks it down he gets better field position.

of course keading missed it.

Hard to beat the Pats when you have stupid players on your team. You can point to that stupid call by Marty on 4th and 11 and that stupid penalty by the SD player when they had stopped the pats. Maybe all of the SD players on on roids like merrimen and roid rage got the best of them.

Nothing like getting the game gift wrapped for ya. Nothing worse than a Colts/Patriots AFC championship. Marty should be fired. How many times, with a superior team, is he going to fail before someone gets fed up?

It wasnt as dramatic as the way the Cowboys gave away the Seahawk game but it was a slow painful death.

What a bunch of idiots!

LOL...I never get tired of those....

Who would have thought the Colts would be hosting the AFC title game 3 weeks ago?

Now I have no idea who will win the SB. I thought it was the Chargers year. At this point I have to think the Pats are the favorites based on their experience.

No matter what teams you were rooting for, this was a great weekend of playoff football. No blowouts, and OT game, and another that went down to the last second.

Haha roid rage.

Yeah youthful exuberance did the Chargers in.

But also, the defense was one-trick pony with heavy blitzes. Sooner or later Brady was going to make a play against single coverage.

I thought the Pats were going to win because of Brady vs. Rivers. Brady didn't play that well and the pressure did force mistakes from him. But what is astounding is that most of the time they had lousy field position and Brady came out in shotgun practically every down, even from inside their 10. What coach and QB are going to do that?

Rivers played well though. But he had great field position most of the game, great running game and good pass protection. Bottom line, only 21 points though.

Ya i noticed that they blitzed on every play down the strech too. Did they think the pats weren't going to figure that out? That's another argument for roid rage I guess.

And Keading before the kick looked defeated. He had a look on his face like wtf am i coming out here for, this is way too far. They messed up that last drive too by not hurrying or spiking the ball, Could have still done an our pattern with 8 sec left to get closer. But bad coach + stupid players gets you blown games.
