Two differences between Jay and Rex.. Cutler can see over the offensive line and is mobile.

For more differences we will have to let the season(s) play out.

I don't remember the criminal justice system finding Roethlisberger guilty of anything. Did I miss the headline?

Roethlisberger's a great QB, as he has shown time and again throughout his career. You don't have to look any further back than some of the HUGE throws he made on Saturday:

-- like the one he lofted over the defense perfectly into the arms of Heath Miller for a TD
-- or the bullet he threw to Hines Ward on the slant into the end zone for another score
-- or the bullet he threw to Hines Ward on another slant on 3rd and 10 during the drive that won the game
-- or, of course, the beautifully thrown deep ball (on a play which HE brilliantly suggested) to the 4th WR on the opposite side of the field from Mike Wallace (who everyone was looking for) which essentially won the game.

Cutler's an established punk who was run out of Denver, and who still hasn't won but one playoff game (which was only against the 7-9 Seahawks). # 7, on the other hand, has already won 2 Super Bowls and is 9-2 overall in the playoffs. Not much of a comparison at all between the two, I'd say.

It's a shame the eagles got eliminated so quickly so Michael Vick couldn't be a part of this discussion of which team has the worst human being at QB.

I saw him throw a ball right into a LB's belly down around the goal line Sunday -- might have been one of the worst passes I've ever seen. Lucky for him and the bears, the LB on the 7-9 Seahawks dropped it and CHI went on to score.

Cutler's a meathead loser -- and with him at QB, I'm expecting the Pack to put away the Bears pretty easily this weekend. GB ain't no Seattle.
I believe that was a DB, not a LB.

Yeah, Ben's not a meathead at all. Besides the rape allegations, he wrecked his sportbike (and almost wrecked himself permanently in the process) a few years back. Not only wasn't he wearing a helmet, he didn't have a valid cycle license.

As for the Pack putting him away on Sunday, that I have to agree with 100% :D

I think the Pack are the better team but I wouldn't be shocked if the Bears win. This whole argument is funny to begin with, it did help me however. I recalled how peaceful it was for a few weeks while a ban was in a place so I have finally used my ignore list. So thanks for that.

Bad analogy, counselor. In OJ's case, there was clearly enough evidence for a trial (it was the jury who let him off, not the prosecutors). In # 7's case, there was only enough evidence for a few TMZ stories.

I'm not saying Roethlisberger is an angel who has never made any mistakes. He may even be a meathead, for all I know or care. But he is also a helluva quarterback, which I don't think Cutler will ever be.

Not analogous. Just pointing out that the criminal justice system is hardly a perfect arbiter of guilt or innocence.

In my experience, when wealthy folks are accused of wrongdoing and complaining witnesses suddenly refuse to cooperate, it's as likely as not due to pressure, fear or cold hard cash. Hard for the State to prosecute when a victim is unwilling to testify because of fear or because she's busy moving cash from a third-party bank account.

So you'll excuse me if I think he's slightly more than your run-of-the-mill ass.

And this has nothing to do with football, btw. The QB comparison isn't even close between Roethlisberger and Cutler.

I don't necessarily disagree -- but in a rape case, you'd think there would be evidence (bruises, etc.) that would make a cover up more difficult.

It's been awhile since I read up on any aspect of this stuff, but I thought I recalled that she did have bleeding and bruising consistent with sexual assault. I definitely remember there was no semen found. I may be wrong about that though. I seem to remember being incredulous because he said that she fell and hurt herself, but then the medical records revealed injuries around her genitals.

Just saw this stat in Don Banks' column over at SI -- pretty hard to believe and also pretty cool, IMO:

"The Packers at Bears in the NFC is the first playoff meeting of those two historic rivals since 1941, when they met in not only the NFL's first true playoff game, but also the first NFL game of any sort after the Dec. 7, 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Big Ben must have worn an industrial strength condom. Either that, or he's suffering from the same Small Penis Syndrome as Brett Favre. :)

This big ben stuff is reminding me Hollywood and Roman Polanski.

Do we seperate the artist from the person?

Polanski had great career as a director but he f***ed a 13 year old girl up the ass....Hollywood wants us to forgive the drugging and ass raping of a little girl cause Roman directs their movies so damn well......GT wants us to forgive Ben's abuse cause he has won 2 SBs and has the inside track on a third for his Steelers.

The great humans of Hollywood went as far as to give this filth an oscar....What do we give Ben? He has done nothing as terrible as Polanski?

HHHMMMMMMMMM............ 8)

34 : lol. Damn man. Some of us are at work. Didn't need that graphic desciption of what that pedophile Polanski did.

On a realted topic loved how Ricky gervais told off those self important Hollywood phonies at the GG awards. I didn't watch the show but saw his stuff on YouTube. Check it out just great.

I don't know much about Polanski's deal, but I'd say there's a pretty big difference between a 13 year old girl and the classy chick involved in BB's case:

"Another sorority sister, Victoria Garofalo, recalled that the alleged victim was wearing a name tag with the initials "DTF." The tag--which the woman had received at a birthday party earlier that evening--was the subject of an inside joke between the students. When Roethlisberger asked about the initials, "Garofalo explained that 'DTF' stood for 'down to f***' and that it referred to a joke between" the women."

Rapelisberger is a better QB than Cutler, but I guarantee that, even as a huge Bears homer, I would not be on a public message board sticking up for him if he was accused of raping someone, sending dong shots to team employees, or killing dogs for money. Instead, Cutler's accused of being pouty and arrogant -- heavens to Betsy, alert the media, there's a professional athlete who has a bit of a chip on his shoulder!

Legality aside, Roethlisberger clearly engaged in some very questionable behavior at least twice, and to call out the second female for some sticker she had on is flat-out idiotic considering that meathead was at the same place engaging in the same shenanigans. At least she didn't corner him in a bathroom after taking her vagina out of her pants.

Cutler will never be confused for a great QB, but he's a tough SOB who isn't afraid to throw his body into harm's way to help his team win. He has gotten completely pounded behind an often shaky Bears line but still gets up and keeps playing. I'll take that kind of toughness over personality, and I'll certainly root for that over some knucklehead who needed legal proceedings and an NFL suspension to understand that you shouldn't schtup women after they tell you to stop.

As for picks, I'll take the New York Foot Fetish over the Pittsburgh No Lo Contendres and the Chicago Mini Ditkas over Wisconsin Moses and the Green Bay Chosen People.

I've got no vested interest in either, in fact I hate both of them...but that sentence sounds like how I'd describe Big Ben and his horrible line as well. Don't know many QBs that are tougher.

Me either, especially after watching # 7 immediately go back in the 2nd game against the Ravens this year, on the series after his nose was broken, not to mention that he was already playing with a broken foot. I seriously doubt Cun tler is that tough.

All I know is Cutler is the most talented quarterback the Bears have had in my life. I don't think he is an elite qb yet but he also has had to learn 5 offenses in 5 years. I don't know many quarterbacks that can play at an elite level under those circumstances. I will be very curious to see what happens to Cutler if Martz stays a couple of years.

Why is a Steelers fan getting into a flame war with a bunch of Bears fans? I haven't seen a Bears jersey outside of Heinz Field or Three Rivers Stadium in this state since I owned a Payton (man that guy was friggin' awesome) jersey when I was in grade school.

That Favre video is one of the funniest spoofs I've ever seen. Very well done.

I think Cutler is fine, btw. There are many years outside of the Ben/Bradshaw years when he would have been welcomed on the Steelers.

Hopefully come Monday we can have this debate full on for 2 weeks leading up to Dallas.

Unfortunately the betting man in me has both teams losing.

For whatever it's worth...

I'll take the Steelers over the Jets. The QB position will be the difference. Big Ben, although I'm not a fan of his extra curriculars, is far in a way better than Sanchez. He's a proven playoff/Super Bowl winner and the game is at Heinz. Both teams have great defenses but I still give the edge to Pittsburgh - thanks for coming New York.

Chicago will beat the Packers. Aaron Rogers needs to be big but the Chicago D will limit him and they have no rushing attack. The game is at Soldier Field and the Bears are a more balanced team right now. For some reason I have the feeling this one isn't going to be close. No particular reason...just a hunch.
