PS3 Impressions Yes Another One....

Haven't seen the pairing problems with the DS3.
Gamestop has a weird BF deal with the 120 GB Slim. LBP and GoW and GoWII. I didn't think the Slim had backwards compatibility so what would you do with GoW and GoWII? It's not the GoW Collection on Blu-Ray which contains the upscaled versions of those games but the actual PS2 games.

I've tried syncing the controller, reformatting the drive and still no luck. The only work around is to plug the USB cable into the PS3 and connect it to the controller.
I did have this take place 2 times. Then each time after a system reboot, it was ok.
I have not done any updates and/or hooked up to the internet

I saw the ad for this and was puzzled as well.wco81 wrote:Haven't seen the pairing problems with the DS3.

Are you guys sure it's not the PS3 version? The GoW boxes on the ad seem to have PS3 on them.

hooked the ps3 slim to the internet for the first time yesterday and downloaded up to date rosters for MLB, and the ps3 software update (which was required). What do you think happened today? 4-blinking lights and a non-functioning controller. Anway i have it charging now, will reboot later and see what happens.
btw, this is the first time for this. My previous post was a different malfuntion

I bit the bullet and ordered a PS3 slim. Wasn't going to get one as I'm happy with the Wii and 360, but the desire for a wi-fi enabled Netflix device really pushed me over the top. I didn't want to blow $70-100 on a 360 wireless adapter, and my wife would kill me if I pulled that long 50' ethernet line out each time I wanted to watch a movie. So after Thanksgiving Dell had the slim on sale for $270 plus there was 20% Bing cashback. $216 for a new PS3 that doubles as a Blu Ray player and Netflix box was a no-brainer.
The real fun is now. The thing still hasn't showed up. I call Dell Tuesday afternoon and they say it was shipped and delivered Tuesday. Signed for by "A. Land" which is odd since that's not my last name, and none of my neighbors is named that. Dell was pretty helpless so I called Fedex. Package delivered some 3-4 miles away from me to the local Best Buy. Total screw up by Fedex, but thankfully the rep called the Best Buy and they have setup a pickup from Fedex Wednesday. Why I just couldn't stroll into the store and grab I don't know, but nonetheless kudos to the Fedex rep for having the data available on the actual delivery location and ability to track it down at the store.
Probably won't get many games for it - I prefer the 360 for the controller design. But there are a few cheap exclusives out there I'd like - the F1 game, the Ferrari game. Any other recommendations?

You could try this if you have a wired 360 pad.F308GTB wrote:Probably won't get many games for it - I prefer the 360 for the controller design. But there are a few cheap exclusives out there I'd like - the F1 game, the Ferrari game. Any other recommendations?

I got my PS3 in September and hated the floppy L2 and R2 "triggers" on the DualShock 3, so I bought the PS3 Real Triggers from Amazon for $5. They really are a huge improvement.

I am in search of a ps3 badly. I want to find a deal. Best Buy had a deal where you get a 1,500$ tv, a ps3, a game and a blu ray all for like 950. Of course the deal was a huge hit, and it was over before I even knew about it. What is my best recourse. Will there be deals after Christmas? I want a ps3 badly, but the pk500 in me says look for a steal of a deal. What's my best bet? I really wanna play Uncharted 1 and 2!

Giving alot of thought to trading in my Elite which is (knock on wood) running perfectly for a PS3 before my Elite takes a dive which is a good assumption since I have replaced my launch system 4 times already. Best Buy is offering me $136 for my Elite, one controller, and one 360 game. I am contemplating trading this in towards the PS3 120 GB and paying the difference of $163 + tax. I already have TW10 for PS3 (never opened) and could trade a never opened Madden 10 360 and an opened TW10 360 for PS3 games like uncharted etc. I would give my other accessories to my son for his 360 (my launch unit).
The question I have is this...have those of you who have both systems noticed any big differences in graphic quality of the same game on both systems? I would be connecting the PS3 to my Viewsonic 28" 1080p/1920x1200 monitor via HDMI. I am really starting to worry about my Elite (paranoia mainly instead of anything the machine is doing).
Thanks in advance,
DM
